This is one of their larger format stores situated between a Petco and Lowe's. Like every Goodwill, the floor is given over mostly to clothing, however they do have several rows of housewares and a surprisingly good selection of furniture. Plenty of books, DVDs, and shoes to choose from along with seven fitting rooms. They do have public bathrooms that do not require a key, that's not always the case at other stores. Spent an hour shopping for clothes with my daughter and waiting for 15 minutes for to dressing room only to have an employee come up to us and tell us that every dressing room is closed because to they were closing at 8pm. It was 6:45 pm when she told us this. Huge waste of time. If it isn't inconvenient "rules" that are implemented then youre avoiding creeps staring at you and following you around the store. This goodwill sucks. read more

Overpriced for clothes that are half worn down. They just slap a price on it because it's a pretty dress, yet it is badly worn and even has holes in it.. they also refuse to open their dressings rooms back up all the way. They closed them during COVID 5 years ago!!!! Now they will only open two out of the like 8 they have, making ppl wait in lines to use two, and half the time they pick and choose when they will even open those too! It was 2 hrs before closing and they told me the dressing rooms are closed after I search to find things to try on. Do not go here and do not donate here! Selection here isn't great, it's overpriced and I've never had a positive interaction with the staff here, they're always super rude or disinterested. Items are often on shelves damaged and without tags, when you request a price it's always outrageous. read more

Wow.... Where do I start. Just got home and realized they shorted me $3 on change. When I asked for a dressing room the woman gave me a nasty look. At the checkout the cashier gave literally every single person ahead of me a hard time about something different. The shirts were $9.99 and they refused to wrap the glass dishes I bought. Ouch! There are some pretty bad reviews of this Goodwill. Personally, I've never had a problem with the cashiers or the employees giving me 'attitude'. But I might have just hit them on a good day. It's also worth mentioning that this Goodwill has a fairly well run donations area you can pull up to in your car. Inside, it's a fairly standard GW store. I do agree that the prices for Goodwill have gone up in recent years - I remember hunting for used tee-shirts at three for 10 bucks. Nowadays, it starts at $4.99 and goes up from there!?! Additionally, this store seems to have issues keeping their dressing rooms clean of litter. I find that this location is always full of goodies. I will always choose the local thrift store first which also provides food for the homeless and needy. Goodwill happens to have more options so I still can't resist coming by. The prices are much higher than what you'd find at the local thrift store but for the most part, they are still less pricey than somewhere like Ross. One thing I always notice here is an overwhelming smell of some sort of chemical(s), it always makes me sneeze when I visit. I imagine it is what they clean with, I just don't understand why other similar stores don't smell so strongly of chemical? Personally I've never had any issues with the staff here. One thing I have noticed though is that someone seems to be sweeping dead bugs to the side of the store, then they will hide them using photos that are for sale. A tad alarming to find a bunch of dead bugs behind things you are considering buying. read more

Lilian, an employee of this goodwill location held the fitting room door open while I was half dressed. I was literally holding my arms over myself in shock and attempting to minimize the exposure while she told me in Spanish repeatedly that they are closing at 8:00 and I need to be gone by 8:00. After I said to her calmly multiple times that I understand; and please close the door she kept holding the door open anyway reiterating the store closing time while simultaneously exposing me to the people left in the store. I was shocked and humiliated. My daughter attempted to pull the door closed for me as I was still covering myself with my arms so I could get my clothes back on and the employee just kept pulling the fitting room door back open forcefully repeating the time that the store was set to close. There were 3 of us in different fitting rooms at the time, we waited for over 10 min to get in there and she decided to hold my door open while I was partially dressed. I wish I could file charges, I wish I wasn't so shocked that I paid for all the stuff I couldn't try on and just left. I wish my daughter hadn't seen that. I wish they didn't act like the language barrier is the reason why it is okay for her to cause that kind of harm to me. Lilian the employee who exposed me then rolled her eyes at me when I left the dressing room behaved in such a disgusting way and didn't seem even bit remorseful. This was a horrible experience. Be careful here. I left this review on their page site right after it happened. They replied with the typical" I'm sorry that happened to you we are looking into it... (Looking into it by contacting store mgmt who I already spoke to prior to leaving the store and they told me that they would get someone to translate to the employee who has worked there for at least a year to not do that anymore.) I purchased a pair of pants at another Goodwill and had planned to return them, but then we had the ice storm. I go there just a couple days past the return policy time frame (one week) and the store manager wouldn't give me store credit. She wasn't even apologetic about it. In fact, she was rather rude. Also, they had a TV blaring near the checkout, along with the music on the loud speaker. The whole experience was a headache. I doubt I'll ever shop here again. read more

I put some stuff to the side and was assured it wasn't going to be touched by the cashiers. I came back and the main clothing item I wanted was gone. I asked about it and received some attitude. Very disappointed. I've never experienced this at any other Goodwill as the people working have always been kind and helpful. It's okay if someone took it but I wasn't real happy with the customer service. Eeehhh.... Probably won't be back I came here after visiting the other goodwill about 5 miles south of this one. The nice things about this store is that it's huge, they have a lot of décor items if that's what you're shopping for, and it's pretty clean. However... The prices are definitely high, they seemed even higher than the other goodwill I visited. On top of that, the store is 70% female clothing. So If that's what you're looking for, you can find literally anything you'd want at this store, but the male section is so-so. As I checked out the person at the front was talking incredibly low to where I couldn't hear a single word they said. I don't know if they were having a bad day, or just doesn't talk very loud, however that day they should have been doing anything else other than working the register. If you have a pretty penny to spend, this may be the store for you. If you want to get fair prices, go somewhere else. read more

Buyer beware! Management at this location is shady and donations would be better given elsewhere. You're allowed 7days to return/exchange clothing ( or so they say) except when I returned an item they kept my receipt with lots of other clothes I was still needing to decide on. Then they wouldn't give me my receipt and therefore when the other items didn't fit I was unable to return them. I even had proof of the date of purchase, amount, tags attached and the receipt showing I had just left from the initial exchange where she kept my receipt. Bad business! This used to be my favorite store but they have evidently changed managers and jacked the prices up. I found a pair of outdoor chairs clearly marked "set". When I got to check out, the cashier nervously called another lady to "check" the price and she said "no I would have priced them at that price EACH" and then told me they were not sold as a set. I asked the cashier 3 times if she was a manager, questioned the other lady's authority the change the price at checkout and was basically ignored. They would not honor the sticker price so I walked out. Will be taking my regular business elsewhere. read more

Just came to donate some clothes and i've never had an employee at Goodwill be so rude to me for no reason. I've never dropped off anything at this Goodwill before so I pulled up and asked if I could donate. The guy just stared at me like I was stupid before telling me to pull up, and kept saying "pull forward, go back, pull forward" like i was being a idiot. I've been here several times and each time the service has been awful at the register. The staff has no desire to work or be courteous to customers. I enjoy shopping at thrift stores because it's an old favorite pastime from when I used to go with my grandmother. Let's say it's a nostalgic experience rather than I'm so broke I need to shop here and it's funny to be treated like you're below someone who's employed by a corporation that takes and charges for others good will. I won't be back again because I don't agree with the financial structure of Goodwill. By the attitudes of the employees it's obvious they aren't treated well enough to have any enthusiasm to work there. On the other hand places like the Serving Center in RR or Salvation Army do give back to the community and I will continue to support those with good intentions. read more

The Cedar Park store on New Hope and 183 is pretty clean and organized but they have frustrated me for the last time as far as exchanging items. I will not donate nor shop there any more. I purchased housewares and some items of clothing at the store about 12 miles further south, after being informed that I could return anything that didn't fit at any Goodwill within 2 weeks. That particular store, also on 183, does not put tags on all their clothing. The New Hope store refused to take back 4 items I wanted to exchange, claiming I'd removed the tags and plastic things that particular store puts on all clothing. I'd purchased a fuzzy white sweater, which had been bagged along with the dark pantsuit I purchased. The New Hope Goodwill store refused to take the pantsuit saying they never would have sold something with so much lint on it! I explained it had been bagged with a sweater, but New Hope refused to let me exchange. Most recently, I purchased a couple pair of new-looking shoes. 2 days after the purchase, I wore one pair of shoes to a dinner, and within 1 hour the sole came apart. I went to return / exchange them the next day and was told shoes can not be returned. I am getting my other items together to exchange for something in housewares that I can inspect and be confident of the quality. I won't be back after that. read more

Maybe you should have some compassion for people who are different or might have a disability. That young lady is always at the register and yes she is Quite but She does her job just fine. Maybe if you would look past yourself you might see people a little differently. I have never experienced anyone being rude to me in the store or in the drop off. The prices are about the same compared to every other store. Smaller stores have to move the products faster because of space so the prices may be a little lower. If 80%-90% off retail is not cheap enough for you then maybe you should stick to garage sales. read more

Finally checked out the new goodwill that is so close to my house. And wow..... The store is nice but I could not believe how expensive it is. There is seriously a problem when you can go someplace like Ross and buy NEW clothes for less than this used stuff costs. And forget about the new stuff they have. The most crazy thing I saw were these horrible thin scratchy towels for $7.99. Wth?? Wal-Mart has big soft fluffy towels for $4.50. Seriously, who is pricing this stuff???? I've been to this store numerous times. Overall, it's a fairly clean store and the people who work there are friendly and helpful. (Sometimes clueless) What I'm not happy with is their PRICES. Come on GW! You can do better than this! I found a tee that was priced 16.99! Ridiculous! My daughter also found a shirt she liked and it was priced 8.99. I went in today for their "auction" which is usually a joke but you can find precious metals occasionally... they had a Gibson Les Paul Custom Guitar. I asked the "auctioneer" if he knew anything about it and he said no but that it was a genuine gibson. I won the guitar for 1000.00. There were several other bidders there who were also under the impression that this thing was the genuine article. Lucky for me, I was in a hurry and had to meet one of our fellow craigslisters to sell them a desk. Waiting around for the end of the auction was not an option. I got home, sold the desk (thank you) and did a little research on this gem of a guitar that I just won for a grand. I called Goodwill back to ask if there were three screws on the head cover or 2. The "auctioneer" said that he was busy, that he didn't know, and asked when I was going to be in to pay for it. So... I got there asap. 1000.00 in hand. When I got there the guitar had been moved to the back of the store into the office. The employee informed me that I had to pay for it before they could bring it out. I refused and assured her that I would be more than happy to pay for the guitar if it were a true gibson les paul custom but that I just needed to see one thing real quick. This is where things get weird. The auctioneer came out with the guitar. I checked it out and sure as shit, it was a fake. It had the three screws that the Gibson website warned me about. I told him that I would not be interested and that he misrepresented the Guitar. At Goodwill, there is a bid sheet that customers fill out through the course of the week with silent bids. At the top is the name of the item. The name "Gibson Les Paul Guitar" had been scratched out and in its place was this bs: "Nice Guitar". The auctioneer informed me that he knew it was fake. That if I had been there early he would have told me that (I was there an hour early). He mentioned that items are sold as is with no representation. I call bs. He knew it was a fake and allowed about 7 of us to run the bid to a grand. Im just sayin... if you knew it was fake (by law actually) you have to mention that. I say beware. Just my 2 cents. I actually own an auction company. If he were a state licensed auctioneer (which he isn't) his license would be pulled in a heart beat for that. This is Goodwill. Putting people to work through our donations. Im not impressed with the greed. It should not exist in a not for profit. Makes no sense. You've been warned. I've always had pretty decent experiences here. The cashiers are normally cheerful or at least mediocre. The cashier I had today was Samantha. Samantha was kind and asked if I found everything okay and even complimented some of the items I purchased. The girl that greeted me when I came in seemed less than enthused that I was walking into her store. She seemed like she was only greeting me because it's her job and not because she wanted to. Her tone was flat and her face was blank and she didn't even look at me. How did she even know i walked in?? My wife had VCR tapes and wanted a VCR just to watched the old nostalgic movies. The VCR she purchased didn't work, so I went back with the receipt in hand to get an exchange. The Night Manager DJ, did not come out of his office for 30 minutes, he yelled at his employee said he doesn't wanna be bothered and then didn't offer any customer service. No one came to the door to open it so by 803 I called and "Stephanie" answers the phone. stop in for a frame, the frame I picked out had a picture but just needed the frame. When I got up to the check out a customer commented to me, nice frame for half off. The check out person commented on how many tags were on this frame? There were about 10 tags on both sides, which made no difference to me. I told the man I was going back to shop more for red tags (because the customer up at the register told me about the red tags were on sale that day). Two employees approached me about my frame I was buying. They took it out of my cart, as they did I ask them not to bump it against my cart which they were doing.....I did not want the frame scratched or dented. They two employees told me that the price was wrong and there should not have been so many tags on it??? Why did they tell me about the tags, not my business as a customer. They took the frame from my cart went to the back of the store......did not tell me why? Two men came back with my half off frame mark $11 dollars with a price changed to $7.99. I asked them what is this, why did you do that.....they told me it was miss marked and the tag was not red. The customer at the counter and the cashier was going to charge me half price so I am assuming he identified the tag as red. I told them that was wrong and they should give it to me at the price already on the item.....they said they could not do that because the price was wrong. I am 62 years old, my whole life stores that I shop at have always honored their marked prices even if it is wrong. I will never go back or purchase anything from this Goodwill location. The difference, in money they would have received was $2.49. I ask Goodwill was this worth costing you a regular customer? My budget warrants me watching every penny, I spend my time shopping which is worth something to me......I was not being difficult, I was being a fateful customer who just wanted honesty in my dealing with them and they were not. read more

This Leander Goodwill (Crystal Falls and 183) is a *very* poor store - in selection, cleanliness, number of employees to ask questions of, organization, etc. but ESPECIALLY in customer service. Really...the cashiers are ridiculous. They are terribly, terribly slow (over 15 minutes to check out with ONE person ahead of me with about 10-12 items) and I find them terribly rude and not personable at all. In fact, they don't even try to be friendly or even marginally courteous. One won't even speak even as I try to be amiable to her. I go out of my way to be nice to cashiers and other store workers in any and every store I enter because I've worked in retail myself, but they are rude no matter what I say or what I do. Today I was in the store standing next in line when my older teen son called me and told me he was done early at an event. With a calm, normal voice told him to stay in the building and I would be there asap. Both cashiers HEARD ME say this - turned around and looked at me - and deliberately and painstakingly slowed down their already very slow movements, looking at the women they were checking out with an eyeroll and "can you believe this" expression. I didn't demand special treatment of the cashiers, I didn't ask for special treatment from the two ladies they were checking out, I didn't communicate anything in any way. I just told my son to wait inside for me, never addressing anyone other than my son, and they apparently took offense as if I were demanding they hurry up. I'm hoping I never have need to step in this store again. I've been there frequently spending a great deal of money because I am the costume director for my community theater, but no more. I will go to Savers instead or the store on 183 in Cedar Park, where I almost always had a good experience. Not that the manager or employees even care. read more

I popped into the goodwill to pick up my son after his community service was over. I bought a cabinet for 59.99. I paid and asked my son to help me load it when a woman by the name of Jamie started yelling at him in the middle of the store"you can't shop here!!!" Over and over. I told her i had already paid, waved my receipt at her, and she then told the manager to remove my son from the program. I had no idea that i could not shop here if he was there. It was an honest mistake on my part and she blew things out of proportion. She should not have made such a scene in front of myself, my other children and other shoppers. I was and am mortified that she behaved that way and that the night manager stood there and let her behave that way to a paying customer. I have always been a big fan of the goodwill programs, but this was absolutely terrible. If this does not get remedied I will never donate or participate in any of their programs again. I will also make sure all of my neighbors, local associations and school program coordinators are aware that the supervisors and management of this location are fine with customers and CSCD participants being yelled and and humiliated over an honest mistake. If she is like that in front of shoppers, can you imagine how she treats employees and volunteers behind closed doors? Fix this goodwill. Please. read more

Not rating this store. The reason for this is that, this Goodwill sucks. Twice my husband has gone in there to purchase an item. The first was a tablet that was priced and put on the shelf. When he got to the register, the cashier tells him that this is not for sale. Why? Because it has a hard drive. One, there is no hard drive in a tablet, and two it is priced and on the shelf. The cashier takes it to the back and returns without it. Just this morning he goes and wants to purchase an item. The item is taken to the back and he is told that its not for sale, that it should be in the auction. Again an item is priced and on the shelf, it is a buyable item. For this store I and my husband will not return. Also to add, the cashiers are disrespectful and never speak to the customers. (rude). I have noticed alot of new items in all goodwills. I thought that Goodwill ran on donated items and not for profit. Well new items being sold at regular prices, is turning a profit. Goodwill is not living up to their name. read more
