There's something to be found for the kiddos and adults alike. Seriously...from baby moccasins (so cute)..."blob" soap (so cool)...bacon earrings (so foodie)...to higher end things such as handbags made from can pop-tops or a little leather guitar purse if you prefer (so conversation starters)...and more. I've been in love with this store since it opened, and now with the recent expansion (completed December 2016) I love it even more. Truly a great place to find something unique for yourself and an AWESOME place to find a gift for the most impossible person in your life (mostly female). Located on the 2nd floor in the Oasis Texas (not the restaurant) retail area between the walking bridge and Oasis Texas Brewery, it's always a must stop for me. The merch is great and the customer service is even better. Highly recommend. Support local. :D

I've heard of this place several times by a few people. But because of my work schedule, I'm never…read moreable to get there. Finally today I was able to. I just want to say, they are off of 620, so you think it would be easy to find. But it's a little bit of a maze. It's almost like you're going to the hotel that is there, but then swing around to the back of the hotel. Once you find it, you'll know the next time. It's a little confusing. The parking lot right in front is somewhat small. But there is some parking to the side of the building before you drive to the front of the building. They also have handicap parking spots available too. I did take a video of the parking lot. As you enter, to the left is women's clothing. On the right is beautiful dish ware sets. Towards the back they have hand bags, and kitchen ware. In the back right corner is books and in the middle on the right is kids clothing and men's. They do have a lot of jewelry in the middle, and that's where the cashiers are to check out customers. Places like this seem like they move inventory pretty quickly. So if you see something, buy it up. Might not be there the next time. I bet they get a lot of new inventory often. (Although I don't know for sure) Racks are pretty organized by size. So it makes it easy to go through. I did see some high end brand names. I'm glad I was able to check them out. I think it's geared towards older customers. Not exactly what I would be looking for. But now I know.

The absolute best place to shop thrift/antique/consignment style in Austin…read more For one, it raises money for good causes. For two, the prices are reasonable and go down each month. You can find some very good deals here if you find the item at the right time. The selection is really good, not a $4 yogurt glass like at a thrift store, but really good quality items.

As someone who goes thrifting every weekend, Next-to-New is one of my regular stops. It's a…read moreconsignment shop rather than a traditional thrift store, so the initial prices are set by the consignors, not the shop. What keeps me coming back, though, is the pricing system. Every tag shows when the item will be marked down next, so if something is a little too expensive for my bargain-hunting budget today, I can either look for older tags that have already been discounted or make a note to come back after the next markdown. It's such a smart system, and it makes shopping here a lot more fun. I also love that the store is staffed by volunteers and that the proceeds benefit local charities. It's nice knowing that my purchases are helping support good causes. For me, though, the biggest draw is the selection. They consistently have a great assortment of vintage glassware, including Early American Prescut (EAPC) and other beautiful older pieces. Since my goal when thrifting is to find things I couldn't otherwise afford, Next-to-New gives me a real chance to do exactly that. Their clothing section is another reason I keep coming back. They always seem to have quality pieces at fair prices, often from really good brands. I especially appreciate that everything is organized by size instead of just by type of clothing, so I'm only looking through items that might actually fit instead of wasting time digging through everything. If you enjoy the hunt and don't mind waiting for markdowns, this is one of the best places in Austin to shop for secondhand treasures.

I can understand they want to get more of "the pie", but they don't understand that resellers also have a lot of costs and how much Ebay takes. And when they raise their prices to Ebay level, they aren't taking into consideration that Ebay has MILLIONS of customers a day many looking for that exact item. They basically pushed me out to focus on garage and estate sales, which hurts them. I used to get lots here every week. They get kudos for their community work, but they don't realize resellers HELP them by purchasing large amounts weekly. But me and others don't think they want our business.

You can choose your lamp, and get the globes you want - want to swap them out? No problem, plenty of choices, like everything else in the place, almost overwhelming! There was a 50% off sale going on, so that was even better. We did get spoiled with our fresh brewed coffee, and had some Turkish delight to go along with it. Almost a shame to finish up the transaction and get on the road. Do yourself a favour and come check it out.
