I like this goodwill not because it's one of the largest but because I have found quite a few interesting gems at this location. They tend to have a good selection of pictures, books, and music. They also offer some furnishings and electronics, but they're not always worth looking at. They have a decent amount of parking and fairly clean bathrooms. Like most Goodwills , this store is also dedicated towards the space given over mostly to clothing items. I usually like to show up here once a week or so on Tuesday for senior day where you save up to 30%.

There are a few things I really like about this Goodwill location in Pflugerville.. 1. Location-it is very convenient & close by my house so I don't have to go out of my way if I'm in the mood to pop some tags at Goodwill ;). 2. Cleanliness -this G.W location is always kept clean, organized, & is a good size store inside with plenty of parking. 3. Variety of items- I always find "treasures" when shopping at this location because the selection of items is very plentiful! My most recent treasures found were plastic containers with sealed tight lids to help me organize my refrigerator for only $1.99 each! Helpful Tips: shopping during the week you get additional discounts off of items. -G.W. does carry new items. -Rebecca out

Finally getting around to purging unneeded stuff. I didn't even need to exit my truck. The attendant removed everything from the back and confirmed what was to be left. He provided me a receipt and off I went.

Goodwill has bad intentions and I don't know how else to say it. It lowers our expectations for the worth of our money. This is stuff they got completely for free and their only bills are building and employees. Not a single cent towards 90% of their merchandise yet we are encouraged to spend new prices under the umbrella of 'helping the community'.

Found a pair of boots in the store today for 12.99 when I brought them up to the register a very rude lady said "something don't look right". The workers then brought the item into the back and adjusted the price more than triple what it was listed at. (From 12.99 upto 39.99) I was super mad and just walked out of the store, once home I called the store GM and explained what happened.. He could have cared less, offered no help.. "people change prices all the time and we reserve the right to change prices at any time".. basically calling me a liar and a crook. I understand much of the staff are working off rehabilitation requirements, students on work release but the staff I dealt with today was none of that. Shame on you Goodwill you are not worthy of reviving another dime from anyone. Added more pics of crazy prices.

Lots of clothing! Hardgoods were picked over and everything was pricey. Many items had damaged.

I first met Megan Zellner, Foster and Adoption Program Direct for the Settlement Home, back in 2012…read morewhen my husband and I finally decided we wanted to move forward with adopting a boy. We worked very closely with her and her staff over the next couple of years through numerous trainings, home visits, therapy sessions, fun events, etc. Any time I had a question or needed help, they were there for us and they truly helped make the adoption process much smoother than it might have been. I would, and have, recommended The Settlement Home to friends interested in foster and adoption, some of whom have completed successful adoptions as well. They are first class and truly love helping kids and families.

A Tale of Two Entities…read more Useful: 1. Settlement Home: Helps young girls who were abused have a place to live and thrive. It's a great nonprofit residential center that I hope no one on Yelp ever has a chance to use. 2. Settlement Home Garage Sale: At Palmer Events Center the first weekend in November. Friday you have to pay to get in. Don't bother. Saturday, it's free and it's a great day to scout out the merchandise and buy things you just can't go without. Sunday, the morning is pretty picked over, but the afternoon is the highlight of the whole thing. At a certain hour, they start selling boxes. Get there early, buy one or two boxes, depending on whether you think you can manage it. Plan to be trampled, nudged, elbowed, et cetera. Stuff your box as fast as possible and get the hell out. Funny: 1. My freshman year of college, my rooommate worked for Settlement Home, where abused girls get their lives on track. Some have been sexually abused, physically abused, and so on. I really respected that. This same roommate thought it was funny to tell her mom and boyfriend (stationed in Iraq, by the way) that she was pregnant. After he got someone to buy the ring (within 24 hours) and freaked out sufficiently, and her mom went a little nuts, she called both of them back and said, "Just kidding!." I don't respect that at all. 2. The people at the Settlement Home Garage Sale are friggin' animals. After I bought my box, I went to stand in front of the Center. "GET BACK BITCH! I'VE BEEN STANDING HERE FOR 20 MINUTES!" Wow. I stepped back about 10 feet, actually closer to the door. I think I actually got in before this woman. She had two of the largest boxes available, $8 apiece, duct taped together and on a big luggage rack. I went to the art section. She was sweeping entire tables full of frames into her boxes. She swept in a picture I was in the middle of grabbing. "Can I have that please?" "No!" "Are you even looking at what you're taking?' "NO! I JUST CARE ABOUT THE FRAMES, NOT THE ART, STUPID!" Well, she got a really interesting picture of Michaelangelo's "David" in the deal. Lucky lady. Cool: 1. The Settlement Home basically runs off the funds raised by the gigantic garage sale once a year. What a neat concept. But you can donate to them at any time. It's a good cause, really. 2. For a $3 box, I got the following: An antique intercom that doesn't work A bunch of Royal Doulton "Thistledown" bone china (valued at about $15 a plate) 3 novels 2 small framed photos A large framed photo of a broken window A toothbrush holder A citrus zester Two original, one-of-a-kind paintings What a deal!

There are 2 teachers for 14 pre K children and maybe 3 teachers for all the total program. With too many kids, my child experienced bullying by both pre K students and older students. There will hitting, name calling and pushing that happened. The staff didn't do anything about it, write up a report or inform me this was going on. My kid told me everyday that boys were hitting him and calling him names :( The expectation is the children sit and color or sit and do a project for most of the afternoon. This is fine if a child is older but very hard for younger kids. Instead of thinking of creative ways to work with the younger children, they just kept telling my child to "sit" and that "my child should listen to them". The staff all have art backgrounds, no necessarily childcare backgrounds. They are teaching the pre K kids about "imagination". My child now tell me that "I don't like imagination". Between there being too many kids, the bullying, and the sitting, my child kept escaping. The teachers weren't paying attention and had trouble finding him and another kid. They had both either hid in the bathroom or left the building. This happened 3 times in 3 weeks (that I was told about) and probably more. Needless to say after a month we have pulled our child from the program. I would not recommend this program for younger kids. Wait until they are older, show interest in art and can defend themselves.

She sang about eight songs using a range of instruments (ukelele, drums, jingle Bells, maraccas) and her CD player. There's also a movement class for toddlers (2 to 5 year olds).

In other words this is a nonprofit organization, and after they've paid off all their costs, the rest is donated towards those affected by disasters. One thing that impressed me about this store was the large quantity of very good quality furnishings at very reasonable prices. As a matter of fact, you'll find that almost everything donated here is of a higher quality than you'll find at your average Goodwill, and at around the same price. They do have a very good selection of quality clothing, but it does not dominate the floor. There are three dressing rooms and they have very clean bathrooms (and you don't need a key). Next to the entrance of the shop is their donation area. I was so impressed with the mission of this thrift store that from this point on I will be bringing my donations here instead of Goodwill. This thrift store should definitely be on your radar if you're looking for some good quality items. Plenty of photos to entice you.
