Texas thrift is large and chaotic. They had plenty of things I decided I could use. Their wall of bagged items has some hidden treasures. The selection of clothing is large, but not always of good quality - you'll want to consider the price as you make selections. Their is a display cabinet with some extra toys; if you are looking for lego building blocks, they have many bags of random assortments. Checkout is self service, employees are pulled in many directions at once as they assist customers, no dressing rooms to check clothing fit. read more

It's cheaper to go to Walmart/target, and you'll get the exact same thing in perfect quality! They were selling a used palm sponge (that was dirty) for $3.29. At Target the name brand version was $3.79. What a rip off! read more

I trekked all the way from south Austin to check out this store and sad to say I was disappointed. Despite the store being so well stocked with great stuff, the prices just didn't make sense. They were priced at least $2-$3 more than what I would expect and there were no fitting rooms. For those reasons, it didn't feel worth it to dig through their inventory. This is Texas thrift store's new location since they moved from their 51st St. location. It is also larger and much more well merchandised than the previous location. The store is about 80% clothing and 20% everything else. All the shoes sit above the hanging clothes. As a matter fact, there's more shoes here than I've ever seen in any other thrift store. Tons of knickknacks and bagged up items on the wall as well. Definitely a better set up than the old store with plenty of parking and conveniently located near the Salvation Army store across 183. However, at this point, they have no dressing rooms to try the clothes on, but they do have some new rolling green baskets for you to use. They also have 10 brand new self check out stands. This place is definitely worth the effort to find. Plenty of pictures to get you through the door. read more

This store is VERY well organized but I was expecting better prices. They do however have great sales. Three different color tags sales 25-75% off every week. But it was hard finding those color tags lol. Tons of cool shoes too. read more

The new location is much bigger than the previous location on 51st. Bigger store means bigger inventory! I thought merchandise was well organized into their respective sections. They have small green push carts for all the finds. They do not have dressing rooms but they do have a mirror attached to one of the aisle. Items are reasonably priced but not dirty cheap. For clothing hangers need to come off at check out and there is someone at the front to help check out. read more

Pros: -Really big!! -big selection -good parking Cons: -Higher than normal prices for a "thrift store" :/ -NO FITTING ROOMS ?!? -music is loud -all sales being final in conjunction with having no fitting room Yea no this place price gouges. This is a thrift store in the sense that everything is donated to them for free, and resales them but that's where it ends. I say this because they do NOT HAVE THRIFT STORE PRICES. It feels like im paying depop prices for item they get for free. Saw many many things that were +$20 +$30 in the women's and men's clothes. It's actually crazy. If they are pricing items that high, I'd expect they are paying their workers well, and giving them really good medical, dental, insurance and befits. But I honestly doubt that's the reason for the higher than normal prices. Because of this, I do not recommend going here unless you'er willing to spend +$100 on a measly thrift trip (believe me it is EASY to spend that much here). There overpricing habits are not limited to clothing, but they do this to all of there misc items as well (kitchen ware, house hold items ect.). They also do not have dressing rooms :/ this is very disappointing because they also don't take returns. it's actually funny watching all the customers go to the back of the store with a basket full of clothes to "try them on" over the clothes they are wearing. It's just so frustrating that I have to purchase something at practically store prices (for something that is second hand) just so I can go home and try them on all while knowing I cannot return it. I want to state this, and say, i don't care if all sells are final at a thrift store...it's just having no fitting room, in conjunction with all sales being final that I have an issue with. It would just make sense to at least be able to return something because they don't have fitting rooms, or vise versa. To finish off, I don't recommend coming here unless you have to. I love this thrift store! If you've got time to spend here, do, because it's super vast and it takes a while to go through the extensive racks. The pricing is all over the place - you can get kids goods (including authentic vintage tshirts) for a dollar or so, but then women's coats might be $35 despite not being big name. That said, I grabbed a Rebecca Minkoff leather handbag in GREAT condition for $7.99 and a French designer jacket (with original price tag of $1500 on the inside) for $20 - so if you look hard enough, you'll find some steals! PROS: (1) Among the largest thrift stores in Austin at nearly 20,000 square feet. (I measured.) (2) THREE daily color tags, for 25%, 50%, and *75%* off. (3) Snazzy and convenient wheeled bins, much easier to manage than shopping carts. (4) Many items priced very cheap. Saw a few shirts for $1.99. But can't compare to Thrift Town. (5) Probably the widest selection of clothing of any thrift store in town, including lots of brand names. CONS: (1) No dressing rooms. This is a big downside. Will upgrade review to 5 stars if they install some. (2) More expensive than other stores like Thrift Town. Many women's clothing items were $20, I saw one for $25. I wish I had read the reviews before wasting my time here. The store layout and organization is good. However, they do not have dressing rooms and have a NO returns or even EXCHANGES policy. Super overpriced for some basic brands. I had finally found shoes in my size, and I was so excited to buy them (Nike air max), when I get to the front the lady says it doesn't have a price tag, and they can't sell them. I do not recommend this store because two weeks ago my family went to that place, my sister accidentally broke a glass vase and went to tell them in front that she could pay for it when she left the store and they told her no, that there was no problem when paying. An old lady that works as a cashier lady charged her double the price of what was broken, my sister and dad went back to see her and tell her what happened instead of apologizing she ask in a bad way to give her the card to do the refund after that the lady started yelling at them and referring to them very badly, also being racist!!!
