I got irritated reading the low reviews for this location. I mean, c'mon, ya'll. Let's rate the establishment for the type of establishment it is. The quality of the goods and service received FOR THE TYPE of establishment IT IS. So, with that said. I've seen the SIZE of this place driving by, and hell, I've even Google map viewed it. I know what I'm up against with this clearly marked outlet. I'm going to the 'The Goodwill OUTLET Store', The Goodwill Bins', 'The Goodwill Warehouse' I've heard it called many things and clean and cute has NEVER been one of them. Y'all have gotten spoiled with those color coding racks. ;) I mean, the photos here are spot on and I was STILL shocked when I walked in and saw the absolute SIZE of this warehouse and just rows and rows upon rows of hidden treasures! Big blue plastic bins, that roll if you push you enough (be careful y'all), HEAPING PILES and mounds of unorganized clothes, TONS of luggage. SO.MUCH.LUGGAGE. Is it gross?? Hell yes. It IS kinda gross. It's like going to 50 yard sales in ONE day. Heck. Maybe even 100. It's crazy how much there is to touch and sort through. Look, let's get real. I don't know what ANY Goodwill is going to have "clean" or not, let alone yard sale hoppin' around... gross. So, to me, to give this place 1 star because it was "gross". Gtfo with that nonsense. THAT'S a perfect example of why people don't trust yelp reviews. Do I think there should be urine or dirty clothes or any of these other weird claims, no. Of course, not. Anyways, I digress. ***** I looked around and had no idea where to start. I felt like I was on the wrong block looking for a party, but still tryin' to act all cool like I know what's going on and where I"m at... When you're trying to impress a new date and don't want them to know you're lost. Yeah. This feeling. I had $10 in my hoodie pocket, my keys and my phone. I had a plan to just use my hands and try to buy "a few things" but still have enough for a couple taco's on my way home. I mean, $1.69 a pound, I knew I'd find someone's lost gem in the rubble. Not even 10 mins later I regretted every decision I had made that day up until this point. Why didn't I eat? Drink that last swig of water. Gum, ffs, Jaime, THE GUM! Why did I wear these shoes. My gloves. For the love of all that is a plastic bin, where are my gloves?! Stupid hoodie and this HAIR?! Where is my hair tie? Am I crushing my phone as I lean in? Did I drop my keys from the pocket into the heaping pile of lost dreams and hard earned dollars?! Thank goodness I was alone or my partner would have been passed out on the couches waitin' on my ass! OH! and I was super thankful for my leggings. My comfy, bend-where-I-wanna, stretch all around leggings. *Sugar Threads, Jo Sampson on FB. She aint no LLR or buskin sillyness, a legit local mom working from home...in leggings.* Again. I digress. I found a cute reusable grocery bag, duh, they're literally everywhere in the bins, and tossed my goods inside and slung that baby over my shoulder and got to work, ya'll. About 90 mins later I was carrying the most eclectic grouping of items in this bag. I had sticker sheets, high-end scrapbook paper, a new purse, slinkies, tons of Halloween stuff, and my big find was a whole LOT of Shopkins. Literally. I got 100 Shopkins, PLUS the bakery shop for $2.11 TWO.DOLLARS.AND.ELEVEN.CENTS. TWOOOOOOO DOOOLLLLARRRRRRRSSS, y'all. FOR. A HUNDRED. SHOPKINS. I'm silly, yes. BUT I'll soon be the dutchess here, bc of my new hobby of dollhouses and miniatures. I have collected 7 houses over the past year and now it's time to get the insides filled up! I am literally looking for everything everyone else just tosses and doesn't think about... the itty, bitty, plastic, metal, bits that accumulate and when you've been cleaning house for three hours and vacuuming for four you say, screw this little 1:12 vase and this entire set of barbie shoes. Go ahead. Do it. Do it, because I'll be waiting to find them and put them in the closet of the Jenkins Manor I'm still working on. (Yelp reviews are fun with beer.) So. To the pansies & twatwaffles out there giving this place any less than 4 stores, pffft. Hawthorne Goodwill is calling and they miss you paying $12 for ONE item when I just got 8lbs of EVERYTHING for $11.02 . ELEVEN.DOLLARS. The stuff that didn't even weigh a 10th of a pound had $5 and $8 Goodwill price tags on them. It BLOWS my mind. I've also learned I will never donate in a Rubbermaid container or reusable bag again. I can not believe the insatiable amount of these items that are there at any given time in almost EVERY bin. Crazy. Employees are friendly, very helpful and not annoyed with me or my inquiries yet. One guy told me today not to sort ON the tables in the back, bc people want to shop and may not if I'm takin' up space counting my trinkets and bric-a-brac. That made sense. I will be back. Ah the bins! I decided to write a review since I've been coming here for years. Most items are priced by the pound, and that means clothing is dirt cheap, especially compared to the RIDICULOUS prices at regular goodwills. If you've never been to "The Bins" here is some info: -Items are in large plastic bins, clothing is not sorted in any way, so if you're not willing to go on a hunt this will probably not appeal to you -There are however still big screen TVs, electronics, and loads of furniture which is infinitely cheaper here than other goodwills -Think of it like a per pound garage sale, not sure what you'll see but there is always something neat! (Old/antique sewing machines, reel to reel projectors, manual calculators, antique typewriters, dog beds, sleeping bags, who knows!) -Watch the 'regulars' when new bins roll out with freshly donated items and follow suit....or you may get scolded by staff, or even the regulars, lol! There are yellow boxes you have to stay clear from, and you can't start rummaging until all the bins are replaced and not rolling over your foot etc -Grab a cart! You don't want to see a brand new jacket just your size get snatched because you're fumbling around with one hand. Dig in with both! -Watch your cart or keep it near you if it is near empty, they are in short supply and staff is constantly rounding the empty or almost empty ones to restock the entrance cart supply -Have fun! It's always entertaining to see what ends up in the bins One last thing, unless you think garage and estate sales are dirty and gross, you'll be fine. It's always nice to come across an expensive item of new clothing and pay pennies for it. read more

Good will always has good dill on furniture I love going and getting shelf's or tables you will find everything in there but in the donations are the people there are mean I took a couch and it was a very clean and very good condition the man the received inspected the couch and he said it's has some a pice of carbon in the bottom and I said yes it's just the person who gave me ride left it because it was the way he was protecting he's truck and he said these is what I call Illegal dumping I said I'm sorry and he said just get out of my side any way I just walk away I don't think it was such a big pice of car-box for him to be so rude I will never donate nothing to any goodwill read more

This is a big size warehouse type a place with huge bins in a row, it is not your typical Goodwill at all. This is the Goodwill of Goodwill; if you can imagine. For me it is treasure hunting and people watching. The other day some guy was napping on one of the rather disgusting couches lined up after the bins, it is an amazing place, you never know what you can find, things are sold by weight and some are tagged individually, the only reason i knocked off a star is that this place is on the dirty side, i guess you can't have you cake and eat it too. Watch your back at this place. I've had items stolen out of my cart and been screwed by the front case items. I've found cool stuff for cheap here also. But, I'll be much more leery of them from now on. Finding good stuff there has been harder and harder and is rapidly becoming not worth my time. read more

TERRIBLE BUSINESS/CUSTOMER SERVICE. They sell stuff on Amazon.com as goodwillbooks with the same address: 2920 SW 234th Ave. Hillsboro, OR 97123 and I ordered a DVD from them on Amazon for .62 cents and after waiting for almost a month to received the DVD, I contacted them through amazon. They didn't even contact me to let me know about the order and when I did contact them, all they said was that the DVD was 'undeliverable.' When I asked, they wouldn't even send me another DVD, but instead refunded me .63 cents but STILL CHARGED ME $3.99 for shipping and even when I called amazons customer service and amazon asked them to consider refunding the $3.99 as it is good customer service, and they STILL REFUSED to return the $3.99. I order DVDs from amazon on a regular basis, as I have no job and live off of people's charity since i got breast cancer and need to be very frugal but am sick all the time and mostly all I can do is lie on the couch and watch movies lol. I know that $4.63 may be nothing to a lot of people, but it IS something when you have just about nothing lol. Plus it's the principle of it - what ever happened to 'the customer is always right?' They could have at least sent me another copy of the DVD. I'm never doing business with them again! read more

The Goodwill Hillsboro Outlet is disgusting. The restrooms aren't cleaned properly or enough. The floors are unsanitary at best. The ventilation system is cleaned once in a blue moon. The managers are lazy and have no interest in customer service. I've seen everything from hypodermic needles, feces, vomit, rodents both dead/alive, human ashes, pepper spray, pornography, and more be not only dumped into bins but rolled onto the sales floor for customers including children to sort through. If this non-profit errrrr corporate style driven joke of a company cared they would have addressed these and many other issues over the 7 years I've witnessed first hand. read more

Nothing but good to say about Goodwill here. Everyone was so nice! Quite by accident something very sentimental was 'donated'. After tracking it down, Ed at Hillsboro TV Hwy. helped us get it back. I can't say enough about how nice everyone I talked to was!!! read more

My first time to the outlet was a little overwhelming. People here have their game faces on and look determined to find treasure, and will not let anyone get in their way to find it. You can tell plenty of them are re-sellers with carts full to the max after 10 minutes of being in the store. This place is definitely a hit or miss for me, as is any regular Goodwill store. If you're just thrifting for yourself like me it'll be a little more difficult to find things in your size & in good condition. But when you do find something, it's exciting! I got 5 clothing items for 2.98 the other day (about .60 each!) One being a $98 J Crew skirt in perfect condition. There's some good stuff, you just have to be willing to dig for it! As for cleanliness, yeah it's kinda gross. I accidentally touched dirty women's underwear one time - ew. Some people wear gloves, I do not. Just bring some hand sanitizer and you'll be fine. Coming to the outlet is definitely an experience if you've never been to one before, and it isn't for everyone. Worth checking out in my opinion! read more

We go here to pick up items from our www.shopgoodwill.com purchases. You could do ok diving in the bins if you know what your looking for. I found a Kitchen-Aid attachment that goes for about $70 bucks and paid less than .89. Had some other nice finds as well. Just get's a bit crazy with some people here. read more

Love this place a treasure hunt by the pound! However since our economy has taken a noise dive I have noticed more people there than ever! It is my place for some good exercise and to find and look at things. People can be rude so watch out and stay calm most of them just don't have manners nor where they taught them. A lot of immigrants go to these so they do things that normally are considered rude but not in their culture so keep that in mind. Also to wash your hands when you leave you will need it. I see people come in with gloves but I don't mind using my hands..digging is digging! read more

Yes, you dig through bins of unsorted clothing. Thats why it's SO cheap. I will go here many more times. I spent three hours here and walked away with : 2 tank tops 2 t-shirts 1 flannel 2 pairs of sweats 1 pair of shorts 2 toddler sized shirts 5 toddler shorts 2 toddler jeans 1 movie 1 stuffed Victoria secret Pink dog. and my grand total was $17.80 So yes, its time consuming to dig through huge bins but its WORTH IT. seventeen pieces of clothing and two other things for less than twenty dollars. read more

I got some good deals on household goods - two sturdy baskets and a small whiteboard for under $3. I went to buy children's books, though (I'm a teacher), and they were way overpriced. $1 for paperback and $2 for hardback is not bad for adult books, but children's books should be cheaper. read more

I really like the idea of these outlet stores I just wish there were more workers to control the customers. People are rude and pushey and never allow you to look for things. They position their carts to a point where no one can get a good look at everything. Especially when it comes to trying to look at the clothes people definitely block the areas. I have yet to be able to get a good look at the clothing that comes in there. Even if you have children in your cart they still dont care to move so definitely they need more customer supervision out on the floor. read more

If you get a tv out of the bin they are only 5.00 any size. BUT you can not test them out first of course. If you get one with a goodwill tag on it however you can be assured that it has been plugged in at sometime to make sure it works but with all the banging around who knows if it still does. I got a 5.00 TV with remote that works good. Stouty M says its just a rumor that you'll find dog poo and needles. Well I have not found any needles but I wouldnt say they werent there.I have found gross stuff. Like a shirt that I picked up and thought it was sewed together in one spot was able to pull it apart and realized it was someones semen rag, pubic hairs and all! Sometimes you can smell gross smells in the bins and then you just make a wide path away from the smell. I cant remember what all the weird stuff I've found like prescription meds..but you take the good with the bad. I also one time accidentally put my purse down when I was trying on a shirt. Then forgot to pick it back up and came back and some lady had dump out everything and had my cash and credit cards in her hand. Wow how could you not know to ask around if it was someones purse. I have purchased from the Goodwill Auction in Hillsboro, Oregon. Their handling fees exceed any other Goodwill location that I could find online. I suggested to them that they consider getting their charges in line with the other Goodwill sites and they sent me back a response that was unkind. I am surprised, because I have spent a lot of time in the Portland, Oregon area and found the people in that area to be some ot the nicest, kindest folks I've met anywhere. read more

I lost a black leather folder with zipper on the side on 4/8/15 in the parking lot. I was there for interview and after the interview i accidently left my folder on top on my car and went into the store to see what was in there. I forgot that I left my folder on top of the car and drove off. This was in between 11 to 12. Inside my folder has resumes and business cards and notes. I had asked the store clerk and other staff members to watch out for it, but no luck.
