The fitting room had a long line and no worker in sight to open the door for at least 10 minutes. I had to ask the security guard to find somebody. The Vista GW is the highest priced GW in north county. They are located in a low income neighborhood and when I asked a manager why prices are so much higher than the other Goodwill stores in oceanside and Escondido, her response to me was that I should shop elsewhere. She said that's what she does if she doesn't like the prices at any given store. She is lacking in customer relation skills and should not be a manager. I called San Diego corporate left a voicemail and of course never heard back. This is a nonprofit mind you that made over 7 BILLION in revenue in 2025. read more

This is the best thrift store in the Vista, Oceanside, San Marcos area. They have a huge amount of clothes & shoes and they have dressing rooms to try on items. They also have house wares, artwork, books, small appliances, and some furniture. Everything is organized and it's clean. read more

Very, very disappointed with this location that I used to LOVE. Donation staff are rude and will only accept clothing items with no visible wear and household goods that they feel can go immediately onto the sales floor. We only bring clean and working items for donation that we think the organization will be able to use, but the last time we stopped by everything was rejected as "we can't use that" with no further explanation. read more

While we were at the cash register, the employee was on the floor cleaning something. We were hesitant until we realized he was cleaning fecal matter with his bare hands and tissues. The smell was horrific and to top it off, after the employee was finished off the ground, he was going to take our clothes and ring them up. He didnt even wash his hands or anything. A nice lady behind us had to tell him to go wash his hands before ringing our clothes up. The prices were also absurdly high. read more

Good finds. Always. I go at least twice a week. Thrifting is one of my favorite pastimes. However, I have been profiled at least 80% of my visits, yes, racially. So sad. I now take my phone out and record every time I see someone watching/following me without a cart cause it's clear that they work there. So annoying! This last visit I finally called the manager because one of the employees kept knocking and banging on my fitting room door although the person manning the fitting rooms told him I was in that room. Of course he disappeared once I got out of the room. I asked the manager if she wanted to see my credit card transactions from the past few months so she could count how many visits I've had, not only to this location but other thrift stores in the vicinity. She declined. I also told her if I suspect profiling again I will most definitely be going live on my social media platforms and sharing my experience. In conclusion, if you don't mind being watched and followed around, stop by. If not, go elsewhere. read more

This is a large store, so they carry quite more than the other store in town. This parking area is very busy so park with caution. The store is clean and very organized. The employees could use some people skills and even common courtesy at the register. read more

I often take my elderly mother to Goodwill in Vista. I am accustomed to seeing the prices go up over the years. I just can't fathom who is deciding the prices for some of their items. 9 dollars for a worn stained shirt is totally unacceptable. The girl behind the counter was also very rude, condensing and acted like she could care less about her service. They refused to give my mother the 2 dollar elderly discount because her if was not up to date. I just can't believe her common sense couldn't kick in despite my mothers grey hair. In short this place is atrocious greedy and inhumane. I cringe at the fact that they call themselves goodwill while lining their pockets from donated used items. Oh my gosh has this organization changed!! We took a beautiful upholstered chair and a soft like jumbo bean bag bed, paid $200 for the bed alone, to donate them. We were told quite nastily, "we don't take those!, and the chair, "is that a cat hair on it?, we don't want it!. Wow, and it wasn't just us, they were rude to other people there too. Apparently they have too much, they have no more need. We will donate to people that need or want to help people from now on, we are sick about all we have taken to them! Goodwill is not representative of their name, they are all about greed now, sad. I will not stop spreading that word and will definitely find someone worthy to help. read more

I was going to donate 2 perfectly good office chairs today that we had in the garage and they refused to take them due to they had dust and a cobweb on one of them. There was nothing wrong with these chairs as there were no stains, rips etc. I asked why they couldn't just wipe them down and I was told that they don't do that as they go right out on the floor. I thought Goodwill provided jobs to help people out but I guess not. I loaded the chairs back in my car and left. Wish I could attach a picture of the chairs. read more

Alas , I withheld this from a better rating because I think the prices aren't fair as a non profit , who get their items for free ,as a donation .3.99 each for unopened baskets that are the exact ones that sell at Dollar Tree for 1.00 ea (same brand ,same everything) . Also, I donated a faux tree plant that I bought from Homegoods for 14.99 which I found they were selling for 12.99 . Whoever is pricing these items needs to think of basic marketing . If I can buy these brand new cheaper , why would I dare buy used items higher or close to brand new . This is a bit out of the way for me but the biggest in my area and most organized (for a GW). Also I have found the staff to be fun, nice and helpful. The issue is that there is a huge turnover of stuff so one week (or day) can be SUPER SCORE next day nothing except BEANIE BABIES! I have been to a few Goodwill's in the area, and this one by far is my preferred. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted, we were asked by multiple staff if we needed help finding anything, they even went out of their way to help us find pieces to fit together a costume for a party we were shopping for, even going to get items off the rack for us while we were in the fitting room. The cashier made light conversation with us and thanked us for our business. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. read more

I was getting in line and there was this elderly woman in front of me that was having trouble lifting boxes and having trouble walking. The employ there did not help her at all and just watched at her struggle. The older lady walked back and forth with heavy boxes like 7 or 8 times. Dropped off a massive donation of 6 boxes of various items today, all stuff in excellent shape (my trash goes on the curb, not to Goodwill), and the donation guy didn't give 2 craps that I was donating stuff I spent my hard earned money on. In fact, not only did he seem completely disinterested, he seemed extremely agitated during the single question I asked ("where should I put my boxes?"). I drive there feeling good about helping Goodwill out with stuff that will help the local community while turning the store a profit so close to Christmas; I left with an empty feeling about my donation. My first ever trip to Goodwill!!!! And yes, I shopped and survived to tell the tale. There is a wide variety of clothes and kitchen items. The prices are awesome ad I love the fact that it was so easy to find parking. The staff aren't the friendliest and I witnessed a shop employee get quite loud with a customer who obviously wasn't a fluent English speaker. SHe wasn't very nice and was quite condescending. I would go back but just because of the items I've eyeballed. But some of the staff need to be retrained when it comes to service and treating customers with respect. read more

Your employees were very rude to me today when I dropped off my donation. First when I pulled up I noticed one of the employees was not working and talking to a friend in the parking lot. When I got out of my car he asked me to put on a mask. I let him know I had been here a few times in the last week with no mask and that I have a medical exemption. He told me he would not take my donations. It is unlawful for you to require someone to wear a mask when they have a valid medical exemption. Good will is not the place where I thought I would experience discrimination based on my health conditions after I told the employee that. I should not and do not have to share my medical history with a stranger. He was wearing a mask and everything was safe. The blatant discrimination I received today is unacceptable and down right disgusting. read more

I started coming to this Goodwill location when I was 14 years old and my love for it has only grown with each passing year. While some of the staff I would consider sour the others are lovely. In all honesty though, I don't come here for the employees - I come here for the totally rad used clothes and weird picture frames. If you know how to search then you can find the coolest coats, shoes and blouses. It takes time, but this location had a big selection and it never fails me. This is a really nice Goodwill. It's probably the cleanest Goodwill I've ever gone into. Everything is very organized, and they had some nice brand name products. I saw a Gucci backpack in a locked up case even. They have a TON of DC stuff, brand new too. So definitely great if you have teenagers that like the brand. Another thing that impressed me was their selection of wedding dresses. I always get a kick out of looking at horrible wedding gowns in thrift shops, but I was surprised to see such gorgeous ones here. The two nicest ones were about $150, but they looked new, and they were not something that came out circa 1983. The donation center in the back was really nice too. There was a nice kid working back there and you could drive directly up to the trucks to drop off your donations. I wouldn't mind going back here and browsing a bit more. read more
