I like that I can find things that are reduced. I' bought a new looking bread glass baking dish for 3.99 (not that great of a deal but ok). I also bought a new looking large beach umbrella for 5.99 and several CDs. However, some of my friends have told me that there are better shops out there pricewise. They used to let you return/ exchange and it seems that they got rid of that policy several years ago. Wish they hadn't gotten rid of that. read more

Horrible I paid for a necklace that I couldn't even try on then when I went to pay they brought the necklace they scanned it and charged me without having a chance to look at it, then when I later clawed and asked about the return policy the lady started to chuckle once she was hanging up the phone. This is the most horrible customer experience I've had at goodwill. read more

This is my favorite thrift store in San Diego county. I find amazing things like the huge Pottery Barn table I just scored. The staff is friendly and helpful...in fact, that great table, Rem just helped me magically fit it in my SUV. Definitely check this place out. read more

This is the best Goodwill I've ever gone inside-I go there everyday for upscale bargains as I live about 3 miles away. Actually, the real reasons I spend a couple of hours daily there is the exceptional attitude, treatment and respect I receive shopping and conversing to the best professional staff ever-namely, Jennifer, Laura, Colette, and Irene. I am a 67 year old female who in my earlier years would NEVER have thought about going into a thrift store to buy anything to put in my home, let alone buy something to wear socially! From the designer clothing to the Nordstrom quality merchandise, this Goodwill is the only store I now do my shopping, outside of groceries. I live on a very fixed income, and, now could never afford name-brand merchandise at "Can't beat-it-anywhere" prices that are available in this very clean and organized Vista Goodwill. I want to like this Goodwill. It is large and bright, very clean and organized. But they have hardly anything of interest to me here. There's tons of women's clothing and dated house decor, but nothing I'd want. I didn't see many toys, just a small corner of books, and their showcases are overpriced and have nothing interesting. I've only been in here a few times, and on the latest visit my wife found a couple of nice swimsuits. So ladies can find things here to recycle and love again. But I strike out. Plus the old lady cashier who welcomes customers comes off bitchy a lot. But, this location is doing some things right but can only work with what they are given. So I'll keep coming back with fingers crossed. read more

Is there such a thing as giving No STAR? I have shopped at Goodwill Industry locations for years but in the past 5 years, they feel as though they can charge the public absolutely rip-off prices. You have implemented PRICE GOUGING! One of the main reasons thrift stores came about, besides having a place to sell gently used items was to help those that are less fortunate who can not afford regular store prices. And if I am wrong about this, well, let me just say that selling the clothes and other items that are broken for the outrageous prices you do, is ripping off the public. You claim that you are helping people get jobs. Ridiculous!! Where, because I would like to know. I have been to the main training center and have seen the computer room. What else is there? Minimum wage jobs at the Goodwill store? You make so much money in one day PRICE GOUGING THE PUBLIC, I feel that the higher ups are laughing all the way to the bank!! I wasted $10 on a used paper shredder once, that had a sticker on it, claiming it worked, but it didn't. Throw it in the trash if it doesn't work, don't put it on the floor and sell it to a sucker (like me) who believed it was tested. Yes you have 72 hours to return it, but who wants to be bothered with having to take more time out of your day as well as the gas to drive back to the store. You sell suitcases that have broken zippers, DVD's that don't work, purses that are old and smell like mildew for $6 to $10. I have seen stained t-shirts for $3, how do you justify selling a stained t-shirt for $3. I could go on and on. The furniture pricing...WOW. PRICE GOUGERS! Honestly............GOODWILL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THE WAY THEY ARE CONDUCTING THEIR BUSINESS AND RIPPING OFF THE PUBLIC. My family has stopped shopping here because we refuse to support a company who has gotten so out of hand with pricing, we can't even entertain the thought of stepping foot inside the door again. I love thrift stores especially ones close to my home. But this Goodwill is over priced and a lot of their hard lines is not as great quality for what they price them as. I have found a couple of things after numerous visits since the two years I moved in the area, and I am never wowed. alright...going to thrift stores is fun and therapeutic. i walk out with nothing more times than not. for me its about the thrill of the hunt! i havent been to the vista location in awhile so it was time to see what i could find. walked away with a cool nat geographic book, big coffee table type. they charged me 4$, even though their signs say 1.99 for large hardcover books. i didnt say anything. but i bought a similar book the other day from the goodwill on sports arena and they charged me 1.99! my only recourse now is to move vista goodwill from 4 to 3 stars. will i go back? sure...its still fun to see what you find. but goodwill vista, fix yur pricing! read more

I like some of the staff here, but some are really rude, I have a feeling there is no real customer service training. The place looks like a thrift shop, but charges the price of a department store a lot of time, way too high prices for a bunch of used crap. read more

I had my two year old with me and my mom. I wanted to go in the dressing room with both of them so she can watch him while I try things on. They wanted only one adult in the fitting room but he gets really fussy without me so it's really frustrating. The employe said they don't allow more than one adult in because of theft reasons and it's their policy. Yet when I went in and out of the dressing room they didn't count my clothes or look at them. I could understand if it was a couple going in or two people of the same age, but I'm a young mom who just needed some help. I never had this problem at any goodwills or stores. If they're worried about theft they should definitely count their clothes like every other store does. This policy is outdated and for a company that makes a lot of money you'd think they would update it like all the other stores. read more

Pretty typical larger Goodwill. I found a nice sweater there for $4 which would have normally been about $80. I was disappointed in the pricing of their housewares though.... old old glass bowls for about $10. Too much, in my opinion. read more

It never ceases to amaze me how I can shop just about anywhere. My first trip to Goodwill - big store, lots of hidden treasures. You need a lot of time to sift through the gazllion aisles to find some good deals. Prices are good and I loved the fact that I just found the perfect dining set!!! Happy, indeed!!! read more

There is one older man that has refused my donations twice now. He barely looks at the items and gives me some lame excuse. I took my items to the Catholic Charities thrift store down the street and they took them no problem. I have given hundreds of dollars worth of items to this Goodwill store and all of the sudden they are refusing to take my stuff. I know where to go to next time. read more

I am an Avid Good Will shopper and have shopped all over San Diego. But this GW has left a sour taste in my mouth when I was shopping and some employee named Linda starting yelling at me and accusing me of changing prices?!!! I was taken by surprise!! I had gotten a toy Chess board for my son that was 3.99 priced and she snatched the Chess Board out of my hand!! I told her "Excuse, I want that". She argued some more and then ran to the back room. I went up front to complain to the cashier who was WONDERFUL and so was the Manager. However, the employee Linda came rushing up to the cashier with another lady and she too took the Chess Board out of my cart and said, "This is not 3.99 it's 9.99". At this point I was frustrated and told them to just keep it! Their prices are ridiculously HIGH and for $6.00 more and all that Harassment they can keep their products as I will NOT be shopping at this Good Will anymore!!! Please get some Customer training in this location or you will keep losing costumers. Thank You. read more

This is the only donation center near my home so this is where I drop off my items. The guys at the drop off door are rude and lazy. You would think that they would get up and help a donating patron, but no, they not only ignore me but sometimes disappear inside while I unload. I wish there was some other place nearby that I could support. read more

I went to drop off some donations today and was told that they "only take items that are immediately salable". I had always heard that the company has always refurbished items while giving jobs to disabled people. This appears not to be the case anymore....if ever! The items I had that were rejected were certainly salable with a tiny bit of care..maybe 2-3 minutes worth. Are the employees not disabled? I haven't seen any that appeared disabled in the store EVER. Yes, I shop there. My personal experience with the Goodwill Job search office was dismal. I have two grandsons who were living with me at the time. One disabled and one not. No assistance was given to either one. Both were told to sit down at the provided computers and look for themselves. What? Where was the money going from the donations? I had always assumed that since we were so close to the Mexican border that rejected items were simply sold in bulk to Mexican middlemen who then refurbished the more difficult items. But I guess that as we all get more affluent, helping others to help themselves is "outdated". I did read in the news the other day that "Extreme Poverty" is down below 10% globally. That's a good thing. I am not happy with Goodwill. read more

This store is always swamped with customers regardless of the day of the week and time of day. It is a rather larger store and carries a lot of merchandise. For such a large square footage and amount of merchandise, the employees manage to keep this place relatively organized. Because this place is always busy, it tends to be picked through by the time I arrive. More often than not I have not walked out with anything. read more
