Came in after doing laundry across the street. Left my duffel bag of folded, clean, laundry at the register, and went about my shopping. I had an armful of clothes that I was going to purchase, when I was approached by someone whom I assume was a manager. She accused me of stealing, claiming I was putting merchandise into my bag, which was zipped closed. I like this Goodwill because they have a large selection of Gonesh incense that they keep on stock. They have an okay selection of DVD's and they really shine around the holidays, as they have a mini-Halloween store with lots of new, cheap costume accoutrements and they have a lot of Christmas stock on shelves near the front. Always check around the sports equipment and furniture area because they have an interesting selection and I always walk away with something. The best thing about this location is that they are next door to a Baskin Robbins. When I give them 3 stars it isn't because there's anything wrong with this place, it's just that it's a Goodwill, which is always just okay. You get cheap, but you always feel like you need to wash your hands afterwards. read more

I wanted to share some signs I recently found in a Goodwill Store at 1145 Galaxy Dr. N.E. Lacey Wa. 98516. Don't go in if you might have to use the bathroom at anytime during shopping. I asked the cashier where the dressing rooms were she told me there are no dressing rooms. I asked how I was supposed to know if the things fit and she shrugged her shoulders. I, then, asked what happens if I cannot wear what I buy. (I have tried some of the 'life hacks' that are supposed to help determine if clothing will fit without trying them on. Not all of them work well, and they don't work all of the time.) She told me I can bring it back for an in-store credit. In other words, they want customers to buy a pig in a poke, and then force them to shop there for a replacement, which, again, might not fit. Not much 'good will.' read more

As others have mentioned, this store is much smaller inside than it appears from the street. There's not a great mix of clothing here, most are low-end items like Old Navy, Forever 21, and clothing you could find at Walmart or Target. I was hoping to find items that were a bit more interesting or unique, but I found that almost every single department had the average run-of-the-mill junk that you'd expect to find at any thrift store. Oh, and the prices were a bit high for the stuff they were selling. They say one man's trash is another man's treasure. Most of the GW's I've been to in Washington are pretty good. The Lacey GW is moderately clean and usually pretty quiet. I like that in a shopping experience sometimes because you can take your time and enjoy the experience of shopping without the feeling of being crowded by other shoppers or loud talkers or miscellaneous kids roaming the store without parental supervision, or that one person who likes to block the whole aisle with their cart making it nearly impossible to squeeze by them. I have never experienced this at the Lacey GW. It also doesn't have too much of that musty thrift store smell you get at some places. All of there staff have been nice to me, even when I needed help loading some furniture into a U-haul. Very courteous even the cashiers. If you're looking for something in the display cases, you usually don't have to wait for long. As mentioned in my review of Value Village, I usually go for movies (VHS) and men's pants. There is a pretty good selection of both and their prices are a lot better than Value Village (or at least I think so). They have 1/2 off days at the same time as $1.29 days. I guess they know how to move their merchandise a little quicker, especially with good prices. They have a nice selection of TV's and small electronics. The store is small enough that you don't get confused, plus it's very well organized. Oh and the prices on their furniture are really good. I didn't give 5 stars, since I'm a stickler for easy, efficient, and ample parking. It is very hard to get into the parking lot especially around rush hours since there is a large concrete median divider in the way and cars coming from the direction of Walmart back up waiting to turn against the divider. So in essence those cars block the only entrance to the parking lot since the other entrance is an exit only due to the donation line. It kind of sucks to have to go do to L.A Fitness and then turn around to get on the right side of the street to turn into the GW. At the time of this review, it looks like there is construction going on across the street so maybe that will change the street design. read more

I guess the staff person has not shown up for two days to take donations that's what I'm told. They don't have a drop off bin in the store either. It would be nice if they had a drop off bin in the store even if it was a one bag limit. This place has become worthless as a drop off site. We need another drop site in lacey. The Arc has drop boxes for clothing and shoes only at the recycling place. There's also Buy Nothing on facebook but that process is too time consuming and people are too unreliable. read more

You cant pull out cash here so thats inconvenient . The prices are way high. When you can buy something like a lamp at walmart for cheaper then the same lamp at your local goodwill thats not a good sign either. The shelves are very unorganized and messy. Alot of items are unpriced as well. The lady at the counter was semi nice. But nothing bubbly like I prefer. July 27th 2017 Went in today with my elderly mother. The store manager CHARITY was obviously having a bad day and took it out on me and my mother. WITH such a rude unprofessional tone of voice saying we had a problem with one cash register so thats whats going on I said its okay we are patient people and she turned around looked straight at us and yelled really angry im just letting you folks no whats up.. as she said that she walked straight out the door leading me to believe her shift was over and she was upset something was holding her up. Never have any good stuff anymore and the stuff they do have is so incredibly over priced ! I have found a LOT of dollar tree items that were USED or broken, & priced higher then they would be brand new at dollar tree. A lot of stained overly worn graphic t shirts and sweaters that are long past their "well loved" phase, priced more then you would buy them new ! Occasionally I'll find something cool but the prices are so severely disappointing considering everything they sell was free & they pay their employees below minimum wage! read more

This is your typical smallish Washington Goodwill: pretty clean and well organized, and friendly staff, but with a limited selection in each department. And, of course, like all Goodwills, they have colored tag discounts and special sales. I don't expect a huge inventory in these smaller stores, but I did note that this location had a small selection of housewares and office supplies in particular, which was a bummer, as these small Goodwills can be a good source for vintage Pyrex and cast iron. The kids' section, however, is pretty large, so that might be a bonus for some shoppers. The women's clothing takes up the majority of the store, but it tends to skew older and frumpier -- lots of blouses and elastic slacks, not so much vintage dresses or designer labels. A decent store, not amazing, but worth stopping at if you're passing through Lacey or doing a big thrifting adventure through Washington. read more

My pregnant wife needed to use the public restroom in the back left corner of the store. There was a sign on the door that said "No Public Restroom". I asked the employee if there was anyway we could use them and she said it would probably be no problem considering they make exceptions for children. She called the manager and she said no, I asked to speak to the manager and she continued to refuse even after informing her that it's ILLEGAL to refuse a pregnant woman your employee restroom in the state of Washington. read more

I'm giving a 2 star rating instead of a 1 because I've shopped here before and have had a generally good experience. However, this rating is for my donation experience. We rolled up to the donation center around 7 (they are open until 9, at least that's what is listed on Google). The gentleman there immediately rolled his eyes and mumbled something under his breath. He was clearly annoyed that we were there. My husband came out to help him unload our things. This man literally had something snarky to say about every little thing we dropped off. We weren't donating trash. I would've just thrown it out if it was. They were all things we didnt use anymore that would be great for someone else. Nothing was broken and it was all fairly new. I just couldn't believe it. I was honestly mortified with the whole experience. I understand he may have been having a bad day, but that's not an excuse to treat someone who is trying to donate like that. We had a table that we needed to donate but they weren't accepting furniture. We went over to Value Village and they were so nice. Save your time and just donate there. Much nicer people. It pains me to write a review that's so negative, but our experience was just the worst. read more

Sales guy at front desk was extremely rude, he would rather let my 3 year old wet herself other than unlock the bathroom door for me. I don't care what the reason is. You don't make a kid wet themselves. Wouldn't have a problem if she was older and knew to hold it. But she can't. Can't speak for the inside because i've never shopped here. However, if you're planning on donating items, forget about it. Every single time I swing by to donate stuff, their donations is closed. After stopping here 4 days in a row to try and donate stuff, I finally decided to call them to see why the hell they're always closed for donations and the guy said it's because they have a small stock room and fill up quickly. Stopped by again today 2 hours after opening and they're closed already. So basically you gotta camp out the night before if you wanna donate stuff. This place is absolutely useless for donating, just find a different goodwill. read more

New and improved reviews. Now, with sound! So, I was dropping off a few items at the Lacey Goodwill. I'm used to the Goodwill in Ballard, with all of the quirks associated with it - the confusing drop-off area, which feeds drivers who are finished dropping off their goods directly through the chaos in front of the store, which is one-way, and can be a mess of wrong-way drivers, inattentive pedestrians, and just people in general trying to get wherever the heck they are going. Not so the Lacey Goodwill. It's all business in the back, and a party in the front. Kind of like a backwards mullet. It's near the Wal-Mart and the LA Fitness, and the super-buffet. They have an extensive book section with tons of quality looking books, and a big hardcover Danielle Steele selection. Maybe smallish on the inside, but new, and super-clean, and friendly. Oh, man! I come from Seattle, so I'm used to the hectic Goodwill experience, which is why this one is such a shock every time I stop by. The over all look of the store is much cleaner than the Seattle Goodwills, and much more organized, which I'm sure is a big plus for most people. But to be honest, I'd much rather go to a Seattle Goodwill, because there is more stuff and cheaper prices. You have to do a bit more digging and hunting but I usually leave with more stuff. So overall, this Goodwill is clean and well organized so I'm giving it the four star rating even if I'm more partial to the hectic, messy (and ultimately more profitable) experience I get towards the north. read more

Rude! I've never felt so disrespected at a store. If I could give zero stars, I totally would. We saw a table getting dropped off and asked if they could price it and I could buy it. They told me they don't have room on the floor so they can't price it.... Ummmm, I said I'll buy it, you don't need room on the floor because I'll take it. They then told us that they can't do that because it wouldn't be fair to the other customers. Which I find to be a crappy excuse. Anyway, they told us that they'll have it on the floor within 24 hours. Long story short, they put it out right after we left and then sold it. I find that funny that they said they couldn't sell it to us because it would t be fair to other customers but then they turn around and are completely and utterly unfair to me (a paying customer). Save yourself the trouble and don't waste your time coming here! There's another goodwill in Lacey and surrounding areas that I'm sure are much better to their customers. read more

I donate here more than I shop here, but do a little of both. This is a good place to donate things you can no longer use. They can't take absolutely everything, but they do accept most things. The staff that accept donations are helpful. The store side is ok. They have a good selection of things people no longer wanted, but occasionally there will be a gem or two worth buying. The prices are reasonable, especially for clothing and books. I try to donate and/or shop here occasionally because Goodwill has a good mission and a noble purpose. The store atmosphere could be improved, but it is still a worthy place to stop. You never know what you'll find there that you can't live without! Why not go "Goodwill hunting" for that old "Good Will Hunting" movie on VHS? No if I can only find a place that can accept old baby stuff :) read more

This Goodwill is ok, though not as good as Value Village that is a bit down the road from here (and I also prefer the Goodwill in Olympia more). They have 50% off colored tags daily. You can find some good items if you look hard. read more

This is a very clean and nice store! They don't have the biggest selection of items, but what they do have is in good condition. I have found some very nice buys there. Parking is adequate and it's in a nice part of town. They do have a nice selection of books which, as an avid reader, I was pleased with. read more

I can find proper prices if I continue to dig for many weeks.. But overall the prices are higher than buying new a lot of times. Staff is hit and miss.... There are a few that are on it and others that will make you wait at the locked counters and register forever... Depends on who is on staff.... They really need to figure out prices.... Looking for plain drinking glasses for the house and the ones that were bigger than two ounces were a d 1.99 a piece even though the wall sign says differently. read more

I called the store and ask if they would take a donation of a pre-lit Christmas tree I was put on hold and I was told yes I drove 25 miles to get to them and when I got there they refused to take it I spoke with the manager and she refused to take it and I told her I had called and she said well they didn't talk to her and she refused to take it so if you have items you'd like to donate someone who's more appreciative of the donation and who is more apt to stand by their word poor customer service 50 miles round-trip I had to make read more

I can't ever leave the Lacey Goodwill without finding several must-own pieces of clothing. I can't say much about the selection of other types of items, but all of the clothing has been in good repair and there seems to be a good turnover. The shopping experience is quite pleasant, not over-crowded. Prices are decent and there is half-off a certain color tag (almost?) every day. The staff is very courteous. This has got to be the worst Goodwell that I have ever been to I was trying to return a couple of products that were over the return policy by one day they would not return them also because the stickers were not on them I've been in retail for six years and any time this happens we always try to do our best to please the customers. To the ladys I talked to, fuck you. You were rude and kept cutting me off I have never felt so disrespected in my life I hope you get fired or terminated or at least written up for the behavior you displayed to me today. Well, it's 2018 and it's been a long time anyone reviewed the Lacey, Washington Goodwill. I love this little store. It is relatively clean with lots of merchandise and the staff seems very friendly. I have be shopping here regularly for about a year. I am mainly interested in women's clothing. I have found some lovely name brand items in very good condition. Some days I find nothing. But if I poke around on a regular basis, treasures are to be found. And I love to take advantage of the colored tag specials which change every week. The prices are not as high as Value Village, which is a plus. I visit this store once or twice a week, so I am familiar with the inventory. I am impressed how the inventory changes slightly from visit to visit. All in all, I am quite happy with this little Goidwill. read more

I like this location for the quality of the merchandise which is consistently high. However, whenever an item is clearly damaged the staff will not even consider discounting it. Even when you are buying a lot of stuff. The staff rings up the merchandise very quickly not really giving you a chance to make sure you are getting the right price. If you question them, there is always an argument, so I wouldn't even try it because they seem to take it personally when you ask them why a certain item is marked one way and clearly rung up on the register differently. Watch them carefully, if you don't have a ton of cash to spend. I always see the same two people each time I have shopped at this GW, so it is apparently a choice location for employees, there's not a lot of turnover, and these women are very suspicious whenever you point out a defective or damaged item. The Good Will is not the bargain it once was with many people grabbing up the color tagged items early in the morning, and the pricing isn't always a fair price for what you can get. I wouldn't even consider buying the electronic items, because they are supposed to be tested in Tacoma, but it almost always doesn't work, or is missing important components like a power chord. Why would someone give away a perfectly good DVD player unless there was something wrong with it? We've found power chords missing, bite marks on power chords, from some sort of animal, corroded batteries and missing switches on radios which would have made testing the item impossible. Another thing to consider is they don't wash the clothing as some thrift stores will, lice, bed bugs and other parasites are able to survive on clothing without a live host for a period of time. I am surprised that more employees don't wear gloves and/or complain about being bitten occasionally. One of my friends brought home a TV that was infested with cockroaches that came out as soon as they brought it home and plugged it in. This was not from this Goodwill, but a location where cockroaches are more prevalent. This is why I will not buy second hand upholstered furniture. read more

Very clean and organized. They do not have a huge selection to choose from, but it does have good quality of what they do have. If I were on a mission to find something in particular, this would not be my first choice to stop, but if I were in a rummaging mood to see what I could find, I would definitely check this one out. read more
