For those of you who know me, know that I love my pooch Ryno. He's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and yes, is treated like royalty. I have yet to meet a Cavalier that hasn't been sweet, awesome, and overall just a great catch! I have not adopted from this rescue, but know people who have, I've also met a few people affiliated with the rescue at various meet ups and dog shows throughout IL and even WI. :-) You couldn't ask for a bunch of better people! Here's a little about their mission (taken from their website): GCCR's mission is to help ensure the health and security of abused, abandoned, and otherwise endangered Cavalier King Charles Spaniels by rehabilitating and placing Cavaliers from shelters and similar situations, by assisting breeders and owners in finding new homes for their Cavaliers, and by providing to the public educational materials and consultation regarding Cavalier health and care. The growing popularity of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels has prompted increased breeding by unscrupulous breeders and puppy mills. This development suggests that owners' concerns about health as well as the number of Cavaliers in need will only grow. I know that's not something here in America we can truly grasp, but its true. Children must be 5+ yrs old, I believe, to participate. Adults can go with a group, or alone, it doesn't matter. Single volunteers can just show up without a reservation. Just check-in when you arrive. Double check packing session start times on their website first. You're doing a great thing by volunteering to help here - financially and/or physically. I've been to the Schaumburg, IL location as well, and imo the Aurora facility is the BEST! So, please go! We packed about 1700 pairs of shoes from 10-1! it was great! the two guys that were in chare (Thadeus and Richard) were just awesome, they were friendly, funny and they really love what they do. 3T mentors kids with sports, different kinds of activities like ukelele lessons and gardening classes. They also host clinics and tournaments, this is a great program and they love volunteers! I can't wait to come back and volunteer and get involved! thanks for a great day guys!

I didn't hear anything, so I texted back and she said we have many opportunities available in Daytona Beach. and then said I can get you started right away for $99. This was a huge red flag. I waited another day to see if I'd get a response from my application and nothing happened. So I texted again and said I didn't have money to pay, was on a fixed income and how did I know this wasn't a scam and was beginning to think so. After several hours, she texts back and said to call someone else to fulfill my community service, because I wasn't a good fit for them. so apparently if you can't send them money, you aren't a good fit.
