I would probably not return here. The store is not a pleasant shopping experience, even for a Goodwill. It feels dirty and chaotic. Home goods are distributed randomly across the tops of clothing racks. Clothing did not appear to be accurately organized by type. The furniture/large item section is a little hidden and relatively small. No try-on/changing rooms. The line to check out is an inconvenient location. Carts are left everywhere are they're probably too understaffed to gather them. Drop off for donated goods is convenient behind the store. They accept limited amounts at a time. read more

Horrible, horrible , horrible! This should actually be a zero review!! Stopped to make a donation of gently used dinnerware, place setting of 8 with dinner plates, salad lates and bowls, packed and boxed near perfect! The donation staff were awful! Rude is an understatement. They said they could not accept "scratched" plates? Um they're used, not perfect! When I said I thought this was a not for profit, the gentleman said " we still can't accept them" as I'm walking away, the female used profanity to her co worker "f" them! Wow! We stopped by here on our way home. There was a small parking lot in the front. I came during summer and they did not have the air conditioning on so it was a little miserable. The things were okay. I just went to this Goodwill for the first time today! I had a very good experience. All the employees were warm and friendly, customers were talking to one another, the woman at the register knew a customer by name and I thought that was sweet. This store is absolutely trash- a few staff members were talking very loud and in a derogatory manner about people and their weight, size and body proportions. Unacceptable. Not only was this Goodwill dark and dingy, but the selection was lacking and the prices were sky high. The shoes were filthy and disorganized, and it had that old musty smell. I can deal with these things, but when I witnessed the young staff making fun of people, I left. read more

This Goodwill has joined the corporate greed movement. Prices are crazy high, and the treasures are sent somewhere to be put on Goodwill.com. This store is also so unbelievable hot I don't understand how the employees can stand it. I feel for them. I found this Goodwill to be neat and better organized than others. I found wonderful little girls clothes, some brand new. Their furniture section was not stocked with anything I could use. I will keep trying to find a dresser. I will be making a stop there, whenever I drive by. read more

Walked in there and the work environment felt dead as I observed the manager Sam be rude to his employees in front of myself and other customers when he could have pulled them aside to speak in private. There isn't a vast majority of items on the shelves and 90 % of the time you can't find anything as the racks are empty. The pricing on a lot of the items there are ridiculously high for it being a goodwill. Definitely would not return at all to this location over any other goodwill in the area. read more

My daughter and I came here looking for specific t-shirts, mainly black with various designs for her side business (destressed shirts). This location is a decent size, seemed to have a lot of different stuff and I would say more clothing then anything else. Everything seemed to be fairly organized and the clothes racks aren't bunched together so you have plenty of room to walk past a person or two. Some of the stuff smelled a little "rank" so to speak, which made the place itself smell a bit. But I have to say the worse part was that several employees smelled of heavy duty cigarette smoke. So much so that my eyes were watering & I couldn't stop coughing. If you can get past this you may find some golden treasures. Or if you're feeling generous and are purging items from your home or ward robe you might consider donating here or one of the other local thrift stores. There is ample parking in this location. If it's full you can always drive around back or park across the street in the shopping center parking lot and walk across at the cross walks. read more

I have been going to this goodwill for over 10 years. They have supplied me with everything from dresses for parties to dishes etc. When I came to drop off yesterday, I was saddened to see the guy turn away a little old lady with appliances in boxes, Knick knacks etc. When I got to the front he pretty much told me that it was clothes and books only, he didn't make the rules. I entered the store to find a completely different place. all clothes and books and almost nothing else. Something has changed and I am not feeling like contributing to Goodwill with this new rules . I just want to say that this goodwill has the friendliest cashiers. I'm there constantly and they're always so friendly and nice. Selection is great. You gotta double check clothing sometimes because I've accidentally brought home things with holes I didn't see. I'm giving it 5 stars because it's the biggest Goodwill in the area. There is a large selection of clothing, knick knacks, vinyl records in various states, and tectonics. They have a very large furniture room in the back and the people that work there are very nice. Note that they stop accepting donations at 6pm and they close the furniture room at 7pm, but the rest of the store is open until 8. read more

This Goodwill was very clean and organized. Lots of parking. Came In and saw round racks of clothing w/ red 99 cent tags but had fairly new items on top. I scored with a huge 2' diameter appetizer platter. It had 4 built in dish compartment w/ a center dish. It was wine country themed w/ olive branches painted on. I also got a heavy salad or trifle scalloped edge bowl just sitting in the glassware section. It was heavy and pretty...later found out it was a Lennox. I got both for $12..... Whoooo !!! Staff was friendly and greeted us and thanked us for the purchase. Very nice employees. read more

This review is for Goodwill in Petaluma. I had three small boxes of kitchen utensils and dishes. I drove into the donation area and I saw a huge concrete area full of orange traffic cones. There were no signs or arrows to guide me so I drove slowly around the outside and up to the donation area. A man approached me and said the manager has instructed me to drive between two orange cones. I backed up and followed his instructions. Then the same man approached me and said the manager requires me to head my car in the OPPOSITE direction!!!! At that point I responded that I would find another facility!!! I find the whole situation to be ridiculous. No signs, no arrows. It looked like an obstacle course!!!!! read more

I have been to this goodwill many of times, most of which have been good experiences. However, today I went to shop with my family and had the worst experience I had ever had at a goodwill before. The customer service was awful, and this was due to two workers. A younger blonde woman and a middle aged man , both in caution vests, decided to pick on a man who was obviously struggling. This man has fallen asleep sitting up in the corner, and these two individuals were audibly making jokes about him and even going as far as saying they should "blast the bum". They accused him of stealing and even blew a horn at his face. This was not discreet whatsoever and many other people were listening in on these extremely rude remarks. I hope that these two workers can learn to be compassionate to the less fortunate and learn to help in a way that isn't so degrading and dehumanizing. read more

Looks like the poor review here probably reflects what I feel already. They have lost my business for life. I do not like this location, and for some reason they can't get it together even though nearly every other Goodwill has made serious efforts to re-organize. This location is so unorganized and dirty. -I don't think anyone ever sweeps or mops. -Maternity shirts, pants, and dresses are mixed in with regular items. -Leggings, activewear, pajamas, cuordoroys, and dress pants are all considered "pants" separate from the "jeans" section. But my REAL complaint is this. Because I was overwhelmed and wanted to just find something, I looked in the T-shirt section. Shouldn't find any other weird stuff mixed in, right? There is one section for shirts with short sleeves with a "$5.99" sign. I look through, find some stuff, try it on. I settle on 3 shirts and go to check out. The first one the lady says "$5.99". The second one, she says "$2.99". The third one she says "$10.99." "Wait, wait," I say, and tell her "That was in that same section" "Well, it's Calvin Klein..." I tell her oh, great, well that doesn't matter to me and I'm not going to pay $11 for a used t-shirt. I pay and leave and I'm a little unsettled. I turn around and walk in and ask if there is a manager. The cashier calls the manager on the phone and asks her to come down, but then goes upstairs. I see her walking down the stairwell with the manager and they stop and have a conversation mid-way down. So finally she comes out and I say "So, she gave you a bit of a rundown?" and she says "Yes, sort of." So I tell her , for starters, that it was on a rack that says $5.99, to which she replies "That's the 'starting price'. Really? So then how did my other shirt cost $2.99? Also, she says, "It's Calvin Klein". Does this lady know that Calvin Klein isn't Gucci? Calvin Klein is a fairly generic brand these days. And a grey striped cotton t-shirt that's USED on a $5.99 rack shouldn't stray from that. I am also a manager. I don't automatically forgive my branch's organizational faults and defend my "company policy" even though no other Goodwill I have been to lately has acted this way. I asked her if she would pay $11 for a t-shirt like this and she said "If it was my size. It's Calvin Klein." Hmm... well. With an average minimum wage of $10/hr, this used t-shirt at a thrift store in a country town is more than an hours wage? There was no give. I tried to tell her that this shirt would go on sale because it wasn't going to be purchased at that price, and if she sold it to me for $5.99 she would make more money than it going on sale...but no budge. I would have been happy if she bargained to 8! To be honest, at this point I was just expending energy because she was being a "no"-man. She was not co-operating with her customers. I don't think she has built up a strong defense to a criminal, cheap, low-balling populace here, so I wasn't sure why she was being so disagreeable. She was simply not accepting that her store is disorganized and that I was unhappy because of it. Because of that disorganization, her customers are angry. I thought I was buying a $5.99 shirt but SURPRISE at the register it's 2x more expensive. I suggest that corporate go check out what other Goodwills look like, see how much cleaner they are, spend some time making new sections for activewear, maternity, pajamas, and higher priced items; sweep and mop, and also train their managers on how to make customers happy instead of arguing with them. Like I said, they lost my business for life. At this point I don't care what they stand for, because they can say they have interest in "good will" and helping others, but they certainly didn't care about my positive experience. read more

I love thrifting! I've shopped at Goodwills across our country and know what to expect from a good one. I've been here three times in the last two months. Once to make a donation and twice to shop. When dropping off merchandise you drive to the back of building and through the maze of traffic cones. Stop at the designated well marked area. Staff greeted us warmly and were quite efficient and helped us unload. A friendly "thank you!" And we were on our way. When shopping both times I interacted with the staff and found them to be engaging and helpful. I spoke with 3 staff members total and my experience was the same with each. Sadly, I found the merchandise to be below par and pricey for thrift. All shoes were $7 and were "sad" looking without a good selection. The merchandise options had the same exact clothing both of my visits. I feel all merchandise can use a good culling. Throw away the trash and purge. In my opinion over 25% of items should be discarded to refresh the choices and make it easier to shop. Too much of a treasure hunt. Thanks staff for your friendliness! read more

I've been here before and remembered it was a good store with lots of women's clothes selections, well it isn't now!!! This place was just sad. It was very sparse in the women's clothes selection. There were lots of jeans but not much else. Some of the racks were almost bare. They did have at least 3 dressing rooms to try on clothes however there needs to be clothes to try on. It looked like they had lots of books. I didn't go into the housewares maybe there is more there. read more

Prices are high on clothing and shoes. You can purchase brand-new clothing from Kohl's for less than the outdated used clothes at Goodwill. Even the cheapest little knick-knacks/household goods are overpriced. The minimum price on anything is 99 cents. It should be 25 cents for the little cheapo items. Who wants to pay $1.99 for a scratched water glass when you can buy it brand-new for a buck at the dollar store? I'll still stop by once in a while -- but it's getting hard to find a bargain there. Not very flexible either -- if you find a flaw or a stain and ask for a dollar off, they flatly say "no" The CEO of Goodwill draws a HUGE salary. Hmmm, therefore the high prices..... read more

I love Goodwill in general and go on a weekly basis, not to this one in particular because it's not as close as the RP & SR Locations, but this Goodwill definitely has a larger selection compared to the other local ones and good pieces/brands. They are constantly bringing out carts of new stuff to put on the floor. I don't know why people say 'unorganized' or 'dirty', maybe it's because of the large selection but whenever I'm there it's all well organized and pretty straight forward, and I think pretty much all goodwills or any thrift store is 'dirty' I mean you are browsing 2nd hand items that are used/worn which I don't think people understand, but I think it's clean enough to look through the racks for the short amount of time you're there and for bargain you'll leave with. I leave with something each time, never fails. 5 stars in my books! read more

They lack in the 'electronics and man stuff' department but I've seen some really interesting furniture and shirts here. I can't really wholeheartedly recommend Goodwill in general anymore since they started doing their 'shopgoodwill' ebay site nonsense (aka you get nothing without paying ebay prices) and they do price some things insanely (a growing trend when every phone can show you a rose colored best-case version of what everything is worth)... But overall worth a weekly trip. read more

I like this place alot. The folks are super nice and you can find some good deals - I have! (I don't understand why there are so many other unsatisfactory opinions). Oh well, I guess we all have our different views. I have purchased music, movies, audio equipment, appliances, cookware, a new rug, a bicycle, love seat, and dining room table with chairs and I feel that they are all a good value. I have been shopping at good wills for years! I was in the area and was so happy to have found this place. I walk in the staff isn't really friendly like all the other goodwills that greet you right away! I find a bunch of movies and only have my bank debit card and they tell me they need Id. I asked if I can use my pin because I don't have mine on me. The cashier calls someone over the loud speaker saying cancellation cancellation saying sorry you need id or cash! This was my worst experience here and I will never return to the Petaluma good will! There are no signs up saying no Id no service or we card I dunno horrible experience read more

While I do shop here, every time I swear it will be my last visit. I understand that they are trying to make a buck, but charging $2 for a candle you can get at the dollar store for $1 is crazy. I see this over and over, each time I am in the store. And if you are going to overcharge, at least take the original price tag off (seems like common sense, right?). The store is usually staffed by people who don't know what they are doing, and you are not allowed to take the shopping carts into the furniture room. Since I have a small child, I guess I cannot go in there, unless I want to leave him to be kidnapped? :) Oh, and the store policy that electronics are sold "as is" with no returns? OK, thanks. Nice to know if you sell me a broken/ non-working item, I am just screwed. Additionally, they don't seem to care about the donations. Unless of course the employees can get the good stuff. We've actually been told that they get first crack at the donations. Plus, I was recently told that CEO and owner Mark Curran profits $2.3 million a year. Goodwill is a very catchy name for his business. You donate to his business and then he sells the items for PROFIT. He pays nothing for his products and pays his workers minimum wage! Nice Guy. $0.00 goes to help anyone! Stop giving to this man. I would much rather donate to local thrift shops, that actually value our community. read more

They have decent (if unorganized) selection but have no respect for donations. We took a big box of barely used toys (and all needed accessories) over for donations. Luckily my husband looked back as he was walking away and watched as the guy in the receiving box took the box and THREW IT AWAY!!! My husband went back and grabbed it out (while the manager yelled at him saying he was "stealing" and said that once they received it was Goodwill's property to do with what they want. read more

They display furniture in a separate room off to the left in the middle of store. This store is bit dusty, but it's a thrift store after all. I have found bookcases for a good price here before. The lines for the cashier are a little confusing as they will call out which register is for cards only or cash only randomly. If you want to make a donation, drive to the back of the building to drop off your items, and walk in the loading area to fill out and take your receipt. read more

Picked up a few vinyl records here, but the main reason was to buy a blanket to use for moving some furniture. The store wasn't crowded at all and plenty of room to move around to browse the racks of clothes and other household items. Pricing was a bit difficult to figure out with the blankets/towels since there were no price tags on the items. That was the only downside for me. Other than that, the staff was friendly and helpful and glad to have our business. read more
