Maybe it was because it was Christmas Eve (and they didn't get a lot of traffic?) or maybe they're just normally like this - clean, pristine, like nothing was out of place. And they don't have any funny or funky smells either. It is the most organized Goodwill I have ever been to. They even went out of their way to decorate a room like you're in someone's house. (See attached picture with the chairs.) Their price points are reasonable (found bar stools for $10) unlike some thrift stores who price items higher than their original tags. I came through in the hopes I'd find a computer mouse (needed one STAT, albeit temporarily) and scored a brand new one here for $6. But yes - I left here incredibly impressed at how nice this Goodwill is. Might be making more stops in the future. read more

Called to see if they were accepting donations and was told by the manager Christian that they were. We specifically asked if he would accept a small table and four chairs that were in great condition. He replied that they were and would be happy to accept the donation After loading the table and chairs and driving to the location the assistant manager said they did not have room for the items and refused to the donation. We asked to speak to the manager Christian and were told he was at lunch. Sure doesn't sound like goodwill is in the donation or the people business! Don't waste your time! read more

The grift at this location just keeps getting stronger and stronger. It used to be one of the best thrift stores in the area and prices were reasonably priced - unfortunately, that is no longer the case. Not sure if they have a new manager who is trying to make their mark for the millionaire executives, but long gone are the days when people who were looking for a bargain or low on cash could find reasonable prices/good deals. Most of the high-end pieces are sent to their online store, but if you do happen to find something decent, be prepared to pay. This location has marked up "good brands" substantially with the excuse that these are popular pieces and people will pay higher prices. I'm sorry, but I can get a brand new pair of Lucky Brand jeans at TJMaxx for $20, so I refuse to pay $19.99 for a used and outdated pair here. Old Navy athletic leggings for $17.99? An Express dress for $24.99? No thank you. People won't be happy paying these prices and the donations you received (for free) will sit until they get sent to the outlet. Do better. read more

Would give a 2.5 if I could. A good medium sized store and donation center with large clothing selection. Home goods/furniture was veryyyy minimal. Non clothing items were probably not even 1/4th of the store unfortunately. Prices are hit or miss but mostly misses. This area (despite looking the same as any other fuckass town) is expensive and their prices are upped to match that. Why would anyone spend $7 on a skirt when they're $4 at other goodwills in neighboring areas. I hated how literally every person in the store was image searching their finds and examining each item in the middle of the aisles. Like if you're gonna spend 30 mins researching the shit you're gonna resell at least stand in the corner and not use the furniture i'm tryna look at. Stood near this one guy covering a few desks with the ugliest plainest pair of jeans for what felt like 30 minutes watching and waiting so I could look at the damn price tag. I don't often write reviews for donation centers. But my latest experience has been just horrible. I've been going to this particular location for 5 years now. Although my experience has always been sub par I don't expect anything more from these type of places. For the past two weeks I've attempted to visit this location about 5 times. I have been rejected every single time because they are over loaded. I'm assuming that most people (being on lockdown) have the time to purge their household. I understand having a lot of donations to go through. And I've been very patient with each different employee that I encounter. But not being able to take in a few bags of clothes, everytime I go there, not to mention taking time out of my day only to be sent back is annoying. I see there is always only one employee working there. Obviously understaffing is an issue and that's not my problem. I'm hoping goodwill can hire more people even if it's temporarily to handle the loading. The interactions with the employees are horrible but I'm not expecting much from them. read more

But ONLY because Christina noticed that we were interested in their selection of music records. They have really flexible hours but are pretty particular in how they accept donations- things must be boxed and or bagged. I get the "rule or guideline" but the delivery of message could be better. I absolutely love this goodwill and shop here on a weekly basis because they have a great clothing and shoe selection. Obviously it's in a wonderful neighborhood so considering the demographics, a lot of there stuff are name brand. What frustrates me is that they are way over priced! Tonight I had to turn down my dream boots! I thought I scored when I found thigh high black suede boots in my size but noticed the tag said $35.00 plus the other shoe was missing! I spoke to 3 other woman that were interested in boots and they were all equally frustrated with the prices of USED shoes. We tried to reason with the manager but she wasn't very helpful and seemed irritated. I shop and DONATE here so often and recognize all the employees, it's not fair that loyal customers opinion doesn't matter to the manager. I heart this Goodwill!! They are one of the cleanest stores I've seen. This one has wide aisles & great stuff! I scored on a Crockpot that looked brand new for $10!! (New ones of the better brands, that size - 5 Qt usually run $30 & up). They have a decent selection on clothing - both men & women's, I see a lot of dudes loading up on clothing too. Home stuff decent, it depends on what they have those days - it can be hit or miss. Shoe selection small & just so-so. There's always cute home decor and saw some really cute paintings for the home, I would have gotten them if I had the $ - And yes this one tends to be overpriced on some items, I just pass on what I know I can get cheaper at a yard sale or for that matter, stores like Walmart & Big Lots. But if it's a quality item, don't mind spending. I'm also a firm believer of recycling & giving back by spreading it donating here as well as allover. Customer service times I've been there is usually good. Younger staff might be talking to each other while they work and still take care of their customers, and keep busy organizing the store. Not like the others I've been to when all they do is talk & put stuff away in wrong places and make faces when you ask to open dressing room - never get that here at this particular Goodwill. Parking gets tight and plaza it's in always busy, but not bad during early weekdays before noon. I'll put this on my "If your a cheap A$$ like me" list, but keep in mind, it's in an elite area and hence the higher prices. It's still worth a peeksy! read more

This Goodwill continues to impress. I have recently made a purchase of a new laptop and was quite shocked at the prices that Best Buy, Target and even online sites such as Amazon were asking for a laptop bag. On the day I purchased my laptop I shopped around at Best Buy & found bags in the $40-$50 dollar range. This morning I woke up and headed to Target to find cheap canvas style bag in the same price range. I figured since I was out I would check my go to spot Goodwill. This Goodwill has everything broken down to sections and the area I needed to look was clearly marked. I found several bags but some looked tacky while others lacked a shoulder strap. I continued looking and hidden in the back of the bag selection was a Kenneth Cole messenger bag, leather that was basically brand new. I accessed Google from my Iphone and found the same bag online for $179.00, the Goodwill price $7.99 needless to say I made the purchase. The cashier was extremely helpful and explained the return policy and wished me a good day. If you are need of items that are hard to find give your local Goodwill a shot and chances are you might find that hidden gem like I did today. read more

I've always like this Goodwill location and today was a real testament to just how awesome the are at the Manhattan Beach location. Today, as I was dropping off all sorts of kitchen stuff for donation, I accidentally mixed in a new laptop inadvertently with my donation contents. After having a bit of a panic attack, I called the Manager, Tina, and let he know I was on my way to retrieve my laptop and asked for her assistance to locate this item - which she did!! I gave them a small thank you donation cash gift and wanted to share this story of "goodwill" with everyone as they are SO nice and accommodating and they made my panic situation go away and back to the holiday spirit!!!! I was trying to drop off a small bin of very nice children's books. I wanted to keep my bin but they told me they couldn't do that because they didn't have time to go through the bin. I have had the worst customer service at this location time and time again. I love the ease of dropping off donations at this location. The inside of the store is ok. They have a decent selection, but always WAY over priced and not always sorted for ease. I was appalled by the prices in this goodwill. They had a vase on the shelf with a Ross price sticker on it that read $3.99 and the Goodwill sticker was $4.99! Most of the stuff is true junk! Don't bother going out of your way to come to this location. I'm all about the thrill of the hunt, so a $22 pair of used Nikes with worn out soles or a $25 leather messenger bag that is missing the matching shoulder strap kinda kills it for me. Sure that might be a good deal in comparison with new retail value, but I know damn well other Goodwill locations aren't bumping prices that much. They do have some new Target clothes, but their prices aren't much lower than Target's own clearance section. If you happen to be in the area, it's worth stopping by. What a major disappointment!! Where do all the Lululemon women donate their yearly outdated workout outfits? Clearly not at this Goodwill. We were expecting to find brands on par with other affluent areas such as Santa Monica. I wish I could give 0 stars. The employees at this location were not even knowledgable about discounts stated on goodwill Southern California website. I tried to purchase a $150 couch, using my military discount. On the website it states; "You served us - now let us serve you! Active and retired military personnel and their dependents enjoy an additional 10% discount off purchases when a valid military ID is presented at the register".... But apparently the store manager said this was the ONLY goodwill that does not honor military discounts. Seriously...?! You can't honor a military 10% discount for a veteran? Unbelievable. I will never shop at this location again. Work on your customer service skills. read more

The quality of the items at this newly opened Goodwill is really high, probably due to its location on the border of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, and North Redondo Beach. The majority of the store is clothes, and women's clothes at that. Lots of higher end clothing and shoes which, believe it or not, are not all size zero. The housewares section is pretty small compared to other Goodwill stores in the area. Not many sporting goods. Small-ish book section but the books (mainly fiction) are good condition and recent. Two fitting rooms in the back which there is a three item limit. A few mirrors scattered around the store. The local Target donates past season items to this Goodwill also including a ton of past season clothes. But who cares it's past season if it's only a t-shirt for a fabulous price? Donation center is around the side of the building. Plenty of parking out front as the store is located in a mini strip mall. The ambiance of this store is nice - large, well lit, clean, and doesn't smell like many Goodwills either (like mothballs). Takes credit cards and is open until 9pm (6pm on Sundays)! read more

Designer items, small valuables.. Where did they go? Seemingly, at this store, no one donates anything purchased for more than $10-15 retail..No glass counter to hold anything deemed worthy in a MB GW..odd. This is one bland GW. Massive, well organized store with lots of meh clothes though. No color of the week, no senior discount, no bathroom usage and my friend was told he couldn't test an air filter-no outlet for him. She did suggest that he could return the item to any GW however. We got outa there, nothing being missed by the peeps running this place.. read more

I needed to buy a gift in a hurry and stopped by this Goodwill after work hoping to find something quirky and nice for a good price. After looking around a bit, I found an amazing mini Chinese folding screen with images of pandas on it. It looked like it was in really good condition and looked much more expensive than the $9.99 that I paid for it. Happy with my purchase, and the guys at the counter were really nice unlike what some other reviews said. I'll definitely come back to check out the clothing section also! read more
