I found the Goodwins after I got the run-around from the big store I bought my washer from. This is the second time they've worked on my washer. The first time, years ago, they helped reset the controls and charged nothing (but I gladly tipped them). At the time, they warned me that in a few years, the stabilizers would eventually wear out, and I should call them when that happened. Sure enough years later, it started dancing on its feet and shutting itself down. After describing the problem, they came the day I called them, with the parts, quickly confirmed the fault and efficiently replaced the stabilizers. This time, they advised that when the stabilizers go, it usually meant the machine had reached the halfway point of its duty cycle. The Goodwins know their stuff, and are straight shooters. They gave me my bill when they arrived. I asked if they wanted to wait until they finished in case it cost more, and they just said "flat fee plus parts". Prompt response and quick service! Had work done on my "squeaky" dryer done by some "other guys" and the squeak came back a few weeks later! Brian looked at my dryer and said the "other guys" installed a wheel the wrong way which caused the other wheel to give out! After he fixed the mistake the repair, with parts, was $100 less than the "other guys"! Professional, friendly service which comes with a one year warranty! Brian and Nani are AMAZING!!! I called on Monday for my dryer. The Voicemail clearly stated what to do and what info to provide. So I sent my text to the same number with the info requested. Within minutes I got a reply stating the earliest availability, Tuesday, the very next day, not 3 weeks later, for me that was a huge win since the laundromat is so costly. They both showed up with the parts already in hand. Nani and Brian are both great people, friendly, down to earth, and full of kindness and ALOHA!! As Brian was opening up the dryer and vacuuming, and showing me what needed to be repaired and why, I asked a question about my washer. He got up, opened the washer lid and immediately knew what the issue was and explained it to me. They told me, no problem we can fix the washer too if I wanted it done today. Of course I said YES!! Nani took the model number and Brian said we will be right back were going to get the parts. When they got back, they finished fixing the dryer and the washer. They cleaned up and gave me a clear itemized receipt with part numbers. Reasonable price, his flat rate plus parts and no over charging. They even went the extra mile and got me a new lint catcher for the dryer that I mentioned I needed which was much cheaper than what I could have found it for. Their message says to text them with the make/model of the item you need fixed and describe the problem. I texted my info exactly like how he mentions on his voice message. Honest and reliable company. My washer was making a banging noise, I had someone else fixed it. The other company changed the suspension but was still making funny noise. I decided to call Goodwin since the previous company didn't seem trustworthy and knowledgeable. Our old dryer stopped working, stopped, being that is is over 20 years old we were almost resigned to purchasing a new clothes dryer. I called Goodwin Appliance Washer Dryer Repair after my friend referred me to them. I read the website and sent Brian a request. He asked for a picture of the Appliance label so that he would know what kit and repair parts to bring. We set up a day to make the repairs. Brian and Nani showed up with the repair kit in hand and explained that they would work on the system. They did a through job, Dryer drum and the whole thing opened up. They Vacuumed all the lint, found coins that must have been there for years. They didn't find any of my runaway socks though. They put the dryer back together and tested. It works! YAY! We are super happy with the service and the great service. They charge a flat labor rate plus parts, too bad they only repair washers and dryers. They responded that same day with a solution, estimate, and dates of availability. He knew exactly what part he needed and was transparent about the cost of the part. He has a set fee $150 plus tax.
