Called & got Dustin to come out to check out our 3 yr old Amana washer, the same day after her got thru 2 other stops. The washer was not taking in water.He 's a nice friendly guy& after checking told me the computer board was faulty. Was $300 for the new board & $240 for install & service call. Total $ 540. Next day service. A new washer would have been $539 at Lowe's. You think no brainer right? Ask Dustin to do it, rather than have to wait& who knows what! He came the next day & done!!! Worth it! I see that my experience is similar to others on YELP. My reply is also, 2 fold. Dustin is extremely responsive. Answered immediately, set up Appt., showed up on time, diagnosed the problem and attempted a temporary fix, because he didn't have the right part. GUARANTEED his work, then charged me $180. Told me if I continued to have problems, call him back, and they would come right back and fix it, as all work is Guaranteed... 2 days later, our freezer started having the same "icing" problem. Called him, texted him, sent pictures of the icing, sent picture of the invoice, requested call back....NOTHING.... Going on 1 month now with no response from Dustin. Again, they get 2-stars, because he is really responsive.::but unfortunately, poor follow up, and will not stand behind his work. I really wanted to try and go local, to help out our local contractors, but unfortunately, I think that I will have to go with more reputable sources in the future... I agree with other comments about Appliance Repair 808's technician Dustin being a very personable and sincere person but I would need to question his training, knowledge and qualifications for repairing refrigerators. He came to service my refrigerator for a water leak from under the refrigerator. He spent approximately 30 minutes during his first service. He at no time asked me where the water was coming from. This is usually the first question a technician would ask. He told me that the problem was a clogged drain plug. Instead of trying to clean the plug he cut off the tip. It was concerning to me that he would modify a manufacturer's part. The next day Dustin called to follow up on the condition of the refrigerator, a plus for his service. The refrigerator was leaking more profusely than before he worked on it. He offered to come on Sunday, which I appreciated since I was getting exhausted trying to prevent a flood in my kitchen. He spent another 30-45 minutes replacing a section of the ice maker water tube on the opposite side of the leak. Very puzzling. Leak problem has yet to be resolved after 1 week and 2 visits. He offered to come back for a third visit at no charge but I declined, did my own trouble shooting by checking on line and looked for another company. He charged me $240 for the first visit and $100 for the second and still no resolution to the problem. It's been a very disappointing and frustrating journey. read more

I called to have my fridge ice box fix, Dustin came fixed it and I was charge about $480 because it was leaking water, but now it doesn't make ice. Called again which he came and tried to fix it however he said it may need a new ice box and he guaranteed me he would fix it if it was still broken. He would call me the next day to follow up if problem was/wasn't solved. He told me the parts needed for a new ice box would cost $300 but I only just need to pay for $180 and he will pay for the other half and since I already paid $480 he won't charge me anything else just for the parts. So, the following day, Problem was not solved, my ice box still broken, he didn't call so I called on Friday, Sunday and a Monday and yet no answer from the repair man. I paid $480 for a half fix ice box. At least if you are going to ignore someone make an excuse as to why it can't be fix. This is unethical, bad work ethics...im still sore about the $480 I paid to still have a half broken ice box. read more

I just back from the hospital after a foot/leg surgery with my leg in a full cast confined to a rented hospital bed in my living room. Wouldn't you know a few days after coming home, on the weekend, my refrigerator decided to crap out! Oh no! What am I going to do? Talk about stressed out. It's bad enough being bed ridden. Now I have no working refrigerator. On a Sunday I called every single appliance repair place I could find. I explained to them my situation. Nobody cared. It wasn't even a matter of money. Dustin responded to my call within 25 minutes of leaving a message on a Friday afternoon. I explained my problem and he set an appointment time span for the following day, Saturday. He called me before arriving to confirm time. He diagnosed the problem and was able to correct the freezer door not closing without having anything more than a service call cost. He went on to explain a manner to keep the door closing properly until it was time to replace the refrigerator, saving me $100's in additional parts and service. I called on a Friday, Dustin can on Saturday and my ice maker is now working like a champion. Dustin was profession, fast and clearly knew what he was doing. After a few minutes assessing the situation, he isolated the problem called in for a part and then returned later on for the installation. Dustin was no nonsense and very focused on the getting the job done right. After getting the part, he replaced the ice maker in about 15 min. When I asked about paying him, he said, "I'll call you tomorrow - if it is working you can pay me, if not don't pay me and we will figure out next steps." The ice maker started working in about 12 hours and when he called I was happy to pay the bill. I got the sense that he is honest and confident in his work and skills. I asked him about another repair and he let me know that that type of work was outside his area of expertise. I appreciate that type of clarity and honesty. I highly recommend him or others at Appliance Repair 808 for repairs. SCAM!!!!! Stay away! Save your money! The reviews seemed great and I don't know if this is just one technician. Dustin came and 'saw' our fridge. Spent less then five minutes--seriously--'look'ing' at fridge. Determined it was the control board. Said it may take 1-2 weeks. Seemed fishy off bat, paid the guy the 'serovice call fee'. That's all theyre interested in! Service Call fees of $80! SAVE YOUR MONEY! Im compleltley done paying this but he has no intention of helping and fixing our fridge. Called back yesterday to tell us the board would take 4-6 weeks. LIES! I looked up on amazon and it takes 1-2 to ship to Hawaii--IF *big IF*that was the problem to even begin with. I contacted multiple companies Monday in a panic as our 9 year old GE freezer & fridge got warm - with our turkey and everything for Thanksgiving in it... Very good experience with this company. Called yesterday after 5pm and booked an appointment for today (less then 24 hours) which was a relief because we NEED our dryer. Tech came out earlier which was fine and knew immediately that the dryer was fried. He didn't want to charge us for the diagnoses and even gave us a recommendation on where to buy a reliable dryer. To be fair, I am going to highlight the good and the bad. The good: Gary and Dustin quickly came for an estimate. They are a friendly team. They thought it was a simple job, but it proved to be more complicated. Our family trusted in their recommendations and agreed to their plan. They returned within an acceptable time frame to perform repairs. It seemed too good to be true. After the first attempt to repair our appliance, they made efforts to provide additional services after we expressed that it was not repaired. They also, didn't charge any extra for these these additional services on the appliance. The bad: Unfortunately, their repairs were futile. The appliance was never restored to an operating status. It started to produce a noise, which was not there prior. The brothers made a total of 4 visits to repair our appliance. During the later attempts they verbalized their frustrations and informed us how they were wasting their time. After the fourth attempt we had to contact the brothers to inform them it was still not repaired. We were ensured again that someone would come. No one ever came back and we were never contacted again. They also wrote on the receipt that a 1 year warranty is included, which we are unsure the benefits of. At this point, we counted our losses in money and time and decided to end this on-going battle. In the end, we purchased a whole new appliance. I wish I didn't have to write this review, but all our family wanted was to be informed if they were unable to complete repairs. I hope this never happens to anyone else. read more

Reviewed this company here on yelp and read the reviews. Sent an email to them on Monday 5/31 and within a half-hour I received a response saying they could schedule an appointment the next day, Tuesday 6/1. I wasn't available so I scheduled for Thursday 6/3 at 10am. Received a call from them to confirm my appointment and that their technician Paul would arrive at 10am. Paul came right on time and took a look at my Kenmore Elite fridge that wasn't cooling properly. Paul took a look and found ice build-up in the back of the freezer panel. He removed all the ice and checked the compressor vents to make sure it wasn't blocked. He cleaned the vent and told me to see if that will help resolve the problem. He noticed the fridge compressor, which by the way I'm told is made by LG, was running a little hot but as long as it cools properly should be okay. But to also be warned that these Kenmore Elite refrigerators are known to have bad compressors. So need to monitor it and if it still doesn't cool properly then may need to replace the compressor which could cost up to $1k in repair/labor fees and may be best to just purchase a new fridge instead. Suggested to look into a Whirlpool as those are more reliable. My first impression of this company is 5-stars! Awesome in communicating with me promptly and very professional service. And most of all, they are not quick to push buying new/costly parts right from the get-go. Will definitely use them again for all of my appliance repairs as needed. I have used this company twice in the last few weeks. First the dryer broke. I was able to make an appointment for the next day. The repair was quick and reasonably priced. Very quick and professional. Then the washer broke. Again, was able to make an appointment for the next day. They came on time, had to leave to pick up a part, and was back within 2 hours. Called each time to let me know they were on their way. They also let me know on the phone when I first called that due to the type of washer I had, it could be an expensive fix depending on what it was, luckily it was a much easier fix. Old Whirlpool Duet dryer started rattling. Contemplated purchasing new. Needed professional advice and got Dustin. Apparently it's just normal wear and tear. He replaced rollers and belts and now it's good as new. He also changed the bearings on our Kenmore 80/90 Series as he ran the dryer thru a short test. We were lucky to find Dustin. Highly recommend. My review is twofold. First, I was very happy with the response I received from Appliance Repair 808 and being able to schedule an appointment on a Saturday with no problem. Dustin, the owner is really nice, wore a face mask the whole time and worked on my Maytag washing machine trying to find a water leak that was coming out the back of my washer. Dustin was very thorough and took the machine apart but wasn't able to find the leak and said my machine was fine. Since Dustin wasn't able to find the problem at my initial appointment, he said that I could call him back if it did happen again and I could use the $80 service visit towards the repair of my washer. The washer did leak intermittently and I called and texted about 3-4 times. I spoke to a lady early one morning and she said that she would get back to me but no one got back to me. I spoke to Dustin and he said he would call me back. This went on for about 5 months. Finally, I called a plumber and it turned out to be a simple problem - the water hose attached to the wall and washing machine was not tight and the water was leaking from the hose attached to the wall. My second issue, I had was with my ice maker not making ice. I called Dustin to see if I could use my $80 service credit towards the repair of my ice maker and he said "sure" so I made an appointment on the weekend. I appreciate the opportunity to schedule weekend appointments. That's a plus, HOWEVER, the service person who came out to look at my ice maker wasn't too 'akamai.' He took out my ice maker and said that I would need to order a new ice maker unit which would cost $246 and the labor would be $220. Total would be $466 PLUS tax! I told the service person that I would need to think about it as my Kenmore refrigerator is 8 years old. Well, my husband ended up taking out the ice maker unit and tinkering with the unit, pressed the reset button, plugged it back in and lo and behold, it works!!! I had used Appliance Repair 808 last year and was very impressed with their service. Recently, I had another reason to contact them. I left a message and received a call back right away. Dustin came on time to service my refrigerator. In the short time between my first call and the date of the appointment, somehow the refrigerator fixed itself, but I hadn't cancelled the appointment - I thought it might be worth having an expert check it out just in case. Dustin did have a look and tested the temperatures in the freezer and fridge compartments, and said everything was working fine. He would not even take payment for this visit. How impressive is that? Most service people would charge for any visit, but he didn't, and I really appreciated that. So although I've only used them twice, I would certainly call them again if I needed repair service. Dustin was able to come by and diagnosis the problem, a broken fan, within an hour and scheduled a next-day repair. Only reason for 4 stars is on the scheduled repair day, got a call that his truck broke down and was told I would be updated on when repair would take place.
