Jen came to my home to diagnose a washing machine. She was combative from the beginning. I told her the washer was outside of my tenant's unit but she walked into my tenant's unit without permission. Then she called me to increase the diagnosis fee from $125 to $175 because she claimed she could not access the washer which was easily accessible. Then she just hung up on me. Not a lot of Aloha spirit. Edit: If you read the reply below from the company, you can understand the patronizing way they can treat clients. Jen was not happy to diagnose my Home Depot brand washer/dryer combo. She was combative. Trouble-shooting the electrical is an obvious part of the diagnosis since the GFCI was tripping so I would expect this to be done. Jen initially refused to look at the unit because it was in a shed. I pointed out that the shed did not have a back giving her full access to the back of the unit so jacking up the price on me is not a "sweet deal!". My text directions were extremely clear. The small shed was right next to the door she opened to my tenants home (see photo). And she told me that my tenant's apartment looked like a shed to her and that's why she walked into the apartment. Really? If she needs a photo to know the difference between an apartment and a shed, then I wouldn't have much faith in her ability to repair appliances. read more

Pele was very honest about our old Refrigerator, its over 17 years old, best to get another one, Its our outside fridge in back our lanai, compressor died. we went to ross buy a refurbish one, should last another 5 years which is fine with us, cost us $475 with delivery. He also told me which Brand is good, and were they are made, if made in the United States excluding California it uses the new freon. Appliance made with freon R134 is well made. Fridge from Mexico and china sold in the US, and sold at Lowes or Home depot, will last you if your lucky, last less then 10 years. If made In the US, and not in California with R134 freon, will last 17 years average. read more

We called Pele repair about a week ago because my washer stopped draining the water at the end of each cycle. I was pleased to see a lady repair person come by. He accurately assessed on the first try that the motor needed replacing. Within one week she had ordered the part and made it back to replace it. Unfortunately I tried the machine right after she left and I ended up with a flooded bathroom floor. I called her back and she was on another job but made it back here within 2 hours. She assessed there was a clog in the line behind the washer in the wall. This clog probably burned out the last motor. Although she is technically a repair person she had a professional snake in her truck. She could have stopped right there but offered to sneak the line for us instead of us having to wait and call a plumber another day. She also charges a fraction of what a plumber's call would be. She had to sneak the line more than 20 ft in. It was a nasty dirty job but she got it done! The line is clear and my LG is working like a brand new front loading HE washer like it should be. She saved us time and money and then gave me tips on how to keep the machine clean and do maintenance on it. Jen went above and beyond what I or anyone could possibly expect. Well, I did it! I washed too many overloaded and unbalanced loads that the washer had enough of the abuse. Using the Yelp feature to search for appliance services on Saturday morning turned up no one being available. I called one company, they could come over on Sunday but at a time that I was unavailable. Another's voice mail said not to bother leaving a message because they're already booked all week. So using the Get a Quote feature, I patiently waited for someone to contact me on Monday. And I'm so glad I did. Earlier Monday morning, I received a message from Jen of Pele Appliances and Repair. She quoted $175 as a basic estimate but it could go up depending on the problem. With my dad saying, you might as well get a new machine was enticing, I thought it best to see how much everything would cost before excitedly rushing to buy a brand new, state-of-art washing machine. I was actually working when Jen arrived and so the interaction was mainly with my sister. And it turns out the cost of repairing both my broken washing machine and a dryer making a clicking sound, everything cost me under $400; $385 to be exact. Jen took the first half of the payment in fixing the dryer and to order the part for the washer. She returned first thing the next morning when I got to meet her. Super pleasant lady. Super friendly. Quick service and was done by 8:20 when I had gone o work, which is at home. After 3 loads that day, both washer and dryer was so quiet and running like new. Pele came and fixed my washer November 18, 2024. I was worried that I would have to buy a new washer but she got it up and running. Pele even went the extra step to explain the different settings, which setting to avoid because it causes undue stress on the machine, and which settings to use so my appliance will last longer with less repairs. Problem: On Tuesday, our laundry dryer wasn't spinning but there was still heat. We watched YouTube videos and determined that we had a broken dryer belt. Pele saves Thanksgiving! Our Fridgidaire Refrigerator stopped cooling days before our holiday dinner we host every year. We were in panic, as we might have to order KFC for Thanksgiving (nothing wrong with KFC, eat there all the time). This happens on a Sunday, which apparently turns out to be the day that ALL appliance repair people are off... except Pele! She quickly answered our call for help, came the same day to diagnose, hunted down the part she needed and found the LAST ONE on the island! She picked it up Monday, the next morning, came and quickly installed it. Not sure if her labor fees were cheap, but they were reasonable. NEVER HIRE Pele Appliance!!! I would give her 0 stars if I could. Jenn charged me $125 inspection fee + $355 to repair a dryer that wasn't heating. 4 months after installation, I called her to let her know that the dryer was not drying again. She said it would cost me another $480 again, as her warranty was only 3 months without any exceptions. She said she changed all the parts including the heating element and new thermostats/fuses. Most all suppliers including Amazon and Reliable Parts will give you a 1 year warranty on parts. She should've fixed the dryer for free and didn't even want to give me a break on the $125 inspection fee the second time around. I ended up fixing the dryer myself. When I inspected the dryer she didn't even reconnect the exhaust hose to the wall outlet, which was left dangling in the back of the dryer. Really shoddy work, and zero customer service. read more
