I brought my car in for a brake job two years ago. They replaced pads, flushed out my brake lines and cut the rotors. Everything was fine for one year. Just after about one year when I braked at higher speeds my steering wheel would shake like crazy. I took it back and they cut my rotors again. Everything was fine for one year. Then again the steering wheel would shake like crazy at high speeds. I recently took it in again for a free inspection. The Filipino guy calls me back and said he recommends I replace my pads, rotors and once again flush out my brake lines at a cost of $500. Rip off artist!!! No quality work!!! Don't go there!! I also went a previous time and told them my steering wheel shakes on low speeds and goes away on higher speeds. He felt my tires and said they were defective and recommend they be replaced for $500. Took my car to Lexus dealer and they said the tires were low on air. They put air in to specs and all is okay now. This time was the older guy with glasses. STAY AWAY!!!!! read more

I normally go to the Good year in Pearl City because it has better customer service and they actually help you out. I work near the kapahulu Kaimuki area and needed just one tire quickly. I called up THIS good year and asked if they had my specific tire. He said no, I so I asked him if he can look at any other good year and see if they had it. He then checked and said no. Offering no help. I ask if what tires he did have on hand, he rudely asks me what size is my tires and that I would have to wait 2 hours before anyone can work to change one tire. Since they were backed up. Long story short. He was rude as fuck and I wouldn't recommend this shop. When I actually got to the shop he ask for my name or number which he keeps on asking after I said the guy on the phone did not ask me for a name or number. I tell him my situation just to find out he was the one I was talking too. No surprise with the service. As he is helping me, he begin chatting with another customer about their life. Making me wait another 15 mins just standing there. After we finished everything. He tells me I'll have to wait an additional 1.5 hours because two cars need tire changes and rotations. I ask him if he is able to give me the new tire and I'll change it myself. He said yes. After I looking at the bill he ended up charging me for labor fees. Even though they did not change the tire. I ask if he could take it off and he said "it's like that" The worst services. If you like good year I'd go to another one than this. My car was making a weird noise so I made an appointment for a 29-point inspection, which cost $50 online but turned out to be free since my 4 tires are from here. Anyways I read online it could be pulleys, belts or brakes that make that noise and all those things they inspect. The gentleman who checks people in was busy clacking away at the keyboard to even say, "Hi, I'll be with you in a moment." - I didn't like that I wasn't acknowledge, so I stood there..... in awkward silence until he was done. Anyways I handed over my keys and told them I think my brakes needed to be changed, because it's making a metal screech noise. He said he'll let them know. ..... fast forward 2 hours later. He says that my brakes need to be changed. BUT they can't do it today and I have to call to make an appointment. Omg.... -__- what's the point of them having that big computer with appointments on it if they can't look into it. Their customer services needs work on. Especially the people working with the customers because when I pulled on I talked to the mechanics about where to situate my car and they were friendly and pointing me to the right spot. I went in for an oil change and tire inspection for 2 tires that had leaks. Figuring they are probably overworked and tired, they weren't giving good customer service. Im a girl so I know how it goes when I go into auto shops. They kind of talk to you like your "stupid", but should be helpful instead. I didn't know what kind of oil I needed for my vehicle, and the employee at the counter was a bit rude. So I asked for a recommendation. They also offered a free tire rotation, which I'll expand more about later which is why Im writing this review. Anyways the wait was as estimated after leaving. Picked up the car, only to find out I would have to go back inside to let them know Im blocked in by another vehicle that was waiting for work. They need a bigger parking lot. So back to the free tire rotation. After asking around, when you have a tire rotation you need an alignment. They didn't recommend that to me considering the fact that I may not have known that. Later as we're driving on the freeway the steering wheel starts shaking and pulling to the side. They fixed the leaks but I guess now we need new tires in order to get an alignment. The tires are all still fine and this wasn't a problem before hand. So i guess they offer these free rotations, which sounds so appealing perhaps to customers who aren't aware of the fact you need a alignment, so you can come back and buy their tires and get an alignment. read more

First thing, they do not do STATE INSPECTIONS! I just moved to the island and needed an oil change and get a state inspection for my car that I brought over. I made an appointment online and selected to get an oil change and a state inspection. It asks for your car year, make and mileage. It told me oil options and picked the middle one. Perfect, easy to do! I get to the Goodyear and tell them that I have an appointment. The gentleman was nice and looked it up. He said that I needed to upgrade my oil and go for a higher priced option. Saying that the other oil would be awful for it. Now, I don't know if he was just trying to up sell me(most likely) or if this was true. I wouldn't have gone there knowing the price $65 when I can go to the Honda dealership a few days later and get it done for $40. The main reason I went in was for the state inspection, it's required to register my car in the state. He then informed me that they don't do them because the state took it away from that location. I told him they should take it off as an option and he was nice enough and said sorry. I would try a different company! Best of luck! read more

Very helpful staff. I went in with 2 flat trailer tires today that I tried to fill up at the gas station but had no success. I asked if they could help me fill them up and if they were no good to inform me so I could get new ones. The gentleman filled both of them up in a super nice attitude and didn't even want to charge me for the hassle. 100% aloha from them today. Tired of paying over $1500 for low pro tires so placed an order at tirerack.com This place was a preferred installer so I had it shipped directly to Goodyear because it is pretty close to my house. The day after I placed the order I called Goodyear to ask if they will call me when the tires came in. The guy who answered assured me they will call or I will be notified by email. No call and 5 days after the tires were actually in, (I had to check the tracking order myself) I called Goodyear to see if the tires were in yet, and of course they were. So they took my car in within a half hour. Within a hour half my car was done and ready to go, so I thought. Come to find out, they did not put back on ANY of my tire valve caps!! Called and they luckily still had it, just had to pick it up the next day. 5 stars for tirerack, not putting on my tire valve cap and no call when the tires came in gets these guys a 3 stars. All in all good deal as I saved over $500 total and the tires I ordered should last longer than any of the others I've used. Totally impressed. I went on the Goodyear website in the morning, and a customer service rep 'chatted' with me and set up my appointment for a 2pm tire alignment. I walked in right after 2pm. Ryan was really nice and got me all set up. He said it may take between 60-90 minutes. He asked me if I was going to wait. No prob, I brought tons of stuff to do. First time to this location but have been going to Goodyear for about 4 years now for oil changes, safety checks, etc. This visit I needed to get new tires, wheel alignment and an oil change. My appt was at 9am but I arrived a little earlier at 8:30am. Regardless, they quoted me about 3 hours so I just opted to wait around since I could walk up Waialae if anything. At about 10:45am they said my car was ready. The guy at the counter requested that my car be made priority since I was waiting at the shop vs other customers since everyone was dropping off their vehicles. I've never had any customer service issues at Goodyear, they always were courteous and helpful if I had any questions. I've also never had any issues with their work done. read more

The number of positive experiences I've had at auto shops throughout my life is pretty low. I commonly drive away feeling used, abused, bilked, and taken. I was lucky to find Stewart's Auto Shop in Kaka`ako soon after I arrived on island, but he's got a month-long waiting list and doesn't sell tires. My front tires were getting scarily bald, so I commenced a short search to find a tire place that wouldn't rip me off. Based on Yelp's reviews, the first place I called was Palolo Auto Center. I have a somewhat uncommon tire size, so they had to hit me back once they dug a couple different models up for me. They gave me 2 options, one being $95/tire and the other being $105/tire. After installation, tax, and disposal, I was looking at about $235, which I thought might be a bit high so I gave Goodyear down the block a shout. They were having a sale and had two 40,000 mile tires for $68 each plus all the fees, which came out to $190. They took me in immediately and had me out in less than an hour; just enough time to grab a pork adobo sandwich from Soul up the road. While they didn't do anything extrordinary enough to earn a fifth star, they did everything they said they'd do and substantially beat a competitor's price. Thanks, blimp people! read more

They estimated it would take 1 1/2 hours, but they were done in less than one. Price was more than fair. Comfortable waiting room, clean service bays, and friendly staff at the desk. Lack of customer service is ridiculous. I set an appointment on-line and selected wait for car. The wait time give was 1 hour. I arrived 5 minutes prior to my appointment. The guy that checked me in was super rude and told me online appointments don't synch well with their system and it might take an hour and a half or more. He said they know it's a problem but can't do anything about it. If they know it's a problem, why not fix it or at least call people that set online appointments and let them know...I really wasn't trying to waste my day off and don't appreciate being treated rudely. Perhaps someone could take the initiative to improve customer service and wait time. read more

Called up to see if they had time to do 1 tire for me after running over car accident debris on the freeway. They said bring it now and it will take about 15 minutes! Guess what?! This Goodyear is very convenient, not a lot of parking, but they make it work. They service both of our vehicles with oil changes, tire issues, and with the check engine lights. And they have been doing the oil changes since we owned the vehicles. They get busy, but they have always taken the time to explain the work being done and even giving advice on fixes they don't do. The CEL went on in the car, made an appointment on line, took it in and realized that it was due for an oil change. I had to wait since I didn't have a ride and since I added on the oil change, the wait went up to 2.5 hours. In a little less than 2 hours, the car was done. They told me the code for the CEL reading and it was a small EVAP leak. They don't do the repairs or diagnostics, but the service manager told me to go to the dealer and get a new gas cap. Well, it worked and it the light went off. They saved us so much money! I will continue to take our vehicles here. Big mahalo to Kaimuki Goodyear! read more

Just had my trucks tires replaced here. Since I bought it used, I did not have the wheel lock key so they had to cut it off. It costs $15 per wheel and still it was cheaper then Costco. My truck had Goodyear Eagle LS2's and it costs about $800 to replace here. The quote I got from Costo was over $900. I dropped off my truck and went to do errands and it was done a few hours later. Good price for a synthetic oil change. They don't do safety inspections, but for simple stuff, they are great to deal with. They are also honest enough to say, we don't do that kinda work here, vs tinkering around and pretending like some auto shops do. They also have a nice clean waiting area. I'm not too angry because life is life, but I took my car here to fix a leak. I leave it their for them to diagnose it, and come back. They give me a quote on a price for the part. OOF. The part w/ the labor is gonna cost me around $350. This has to be done so I accept the deal and leave my car there for 3 hours, as the guy said so it can be fixed. Three hours later when I came back, the mechanic couldn't start my car back up. I told them before this started it was important I had my car back by the end of the day, and they said "ok". Well sh**, you know? I get home late in my day, and to my surprise I receive a phone call not even an hour later saying I can pick up my car, but I had to be back back by 6. With 45 minutes till 6, I told the guy "no, I'll get it tomorrow. thanks..." At this point, what the f***. They told me they couldn't identify the "OIL LEAK" and I got my car back smelling like the same. My car has a deep smell from this leak. I then took my car to JiffyLube, funny because everyone says not to go there, and they tell me my Power Steering Fluid is leaking. Oh really, I thought it was oil! Now i'm taking my car to the Vietnamese mechanic over at Shell gas station on Ward because I heard good things about his services, and I usually get my Safety Check there too. tl;dr - took my car here for what THEY told me was an oil leak, got wrecked by false information, went to JiffyLube for re-evaluation. They told me it was Power Steering Fluid leaking. Now I'm taking my car to another mechanic for the actual parts and labor. My advice, go to big places like JiffyLube for diagnoses, and contact local/specialized mechanics with smaller businesses that aren't primarily tire/oil changes. I think the worst part of the experience is that this was recommended to me by my friends Uncle. Jeepers read more

I noticed a screw in one of my tires late yesterday. The low pressure light did not go on and the tire did not go flat I came into Goodyear @ 0800 with no appointment and was told it may be a couple of hours. I was surprised that at 0835 it was fixed, and even better NO CHARGE! What business does that these days! Very happy with the service. read more

Made an appointment on-line and took my car in last Friday. When I got there 2 people were working behind the desk and both had other customers. No problem. So I waited - no "hello," no eye contact, nothing to acknowledge that I existed. Got up to the counter and was asked what services I wanted. Did I NOT make that clear when I clicked all the boxes on-line??? It's one thing to confirm, it's another to make me tell you AGAIN. He asked me what kind of oil change I wanted. Other places KNOW what oil my car requires. Why doesn't this Goodyear? I gave the guy a sheet of coupons I had printed out and told him specifically that I wanted the 29 point inspection. I can only assume that was done as it isn't listed on my invoice (or maybe that's the courtesy tire and maintenance inspection? I don't know). The sheet also had a coupon for $25 off any service of $50 or more. Two people "helped" me at the counter, both looked at the coupon, but neither one applied it to my bill. My oil change was $70. The only good thing I can say is that when I made my appointment on-line it said my services would take perhaps 2.5 hours. Whatever was done actually took only 2 hours. Friday was "Customer Appreciation Day" and customers were to receive a free car bag with useful items in it. The man ahead of me that morning received his bag but I didn't, so I thought maybe I'd get mine when I picked up my car. No dice. The same guy who gave the morning customer his bag took my payment that afternoon and did not give me one. He also did not tell me any services that were performed or if any other services were needed or recommended. He just gave me my total, took my money, and that was that. I locked my glove box when I dropped off my car. When I picked it up the glove box was unlocked. I thought perhaps they were looking for the manual (which was there) so they could reset the oil maintenance light. Nope. The light was not reset and, as I look at the invoice now, I see that it says it right there. So what were they doing in my glove box? I had to look up how to reset the light and found it in the manual very easily. It's under "oil." BTW, the sales associate listed on my invoice is Garrett N. The store manager is Garrett Nakasone. Same guy? I'd guess so. If that's how the manager acts I wouldn't expect any other employee to act better. I've been to other Goodyear locations on this island and my favorite is still in Waipahu. Since we live in Makiki now I thought I'd try a closer location. I won't go to the 3011 Waialae location again, that's for sure. I don't require much of a business but I do require courtesy and honesty. Neither one was found at this Goodyear location. read more

Twice I've had an appointment for an oil change on a Saturday morning only to show up and be told that it'll be a two hour wait because they had too many appointments. Why schedule so many appointments if you don't have the capacity. I took my business to Jiffy Lube instead. They took me right away. read more

I went in to Waialae Goodyear on a recommendation by a friend to change my sienna 2014 tires. From the time I got there to when I left, Ryan and the guys that helped me were great. I originally came to this place to go and get all my tires changed as i just bought a used car. When I came it was no problem after dropping my car off in the morning they ended up calling me back and telling me they only had one tire in stock. They changed the front left and the manager told me he was told by his employee that I had 205 tires in the front right and back left and 195s in the front left and back right when I went to go check it only had all 195s and a 205 in the front right which they should've switched the 205 to the rear he says that in his logic they rather have the tire pop in the front because it's more safe that way since my tires were bald. This mechanic shop is bad I give it a 0 they took 2 days to go and change my tire. Sucks cause I used to always take my car. Won't be going to take my car to this shop anytime soon. I'll give them one stars out of pity but if I could they would be ranked as a 0 read more

Went to get a safety check for my GT500 and the front tires were too bald to pass. Needed to get tires changed in flash cause I didnt want a silly ticket. Long story short called the store and Garrett (store manager) was able to locate appropriate tires for me and service my car. Very efficient and friendly staff.
