I have had issue with previous manager's arrogance and cringe when I had to swallow my pride and did not look forward when I need to work done at a neighborhood auto repair shop. I'm not a car person whatsoever and I usually get nervous accepting the services mentioned to me when I go to any auto place with the fear of being ripped off due to my naive-ness. However, Goodyear has never made me question their service. I call for an appointment, bring my car in, get what I ask to get done, then I'm out of there within an hour. Sometimes it takes a while for them to take my call but I'm grateful that they at least answer and place me on hold rather than let the phone ring on. I've only been here for tire related issues but every time I've been here I've been more than satisfied. Highly recommend them for your tire needs! First impression was not good for this place, however I'm glad I keep my online order and went through with the purchase. I purchased tires online last week at Goodyear.com, and was able to book an appointment as well at the Kaimuki location. Got the confirmation email, thought I was all good to go. I called yesterday just to be sure (I had a hunch that I should make this "double-check" call for some reason) and was a little put off by the person who answered the phone. Blame it on the system, but he did not see my appointment at all! He was also a little condescending, but it didn't bother me because I know how auto shops can be. Anyways, he asked me to come in at 9 AM, even though I was able to book an 8 AM appointment on Goodyear.com. Second impression was much better. I came in at 9 AM, was able to be quickly serviced and even laughed at a couple of jokes by the same person who gave me the not so good initial impression yesterday. Thanks for helping me with getting the new tires. They are much, much better than the OEM Bridgestones. I'll come here again when I need new tires, and will make sure to make that "double-check" call as well. read more

Called to make and appointment for two front tires, got one first thing the next business day. I showed up a little late, no problem for them. Asked for an alignment check and he said they can check it and if off spec. adjust for a reasonable price. He estimated 2 hours and I walked home. Almost exactly two hours later, I get a call to pick it up with tires on and alignment done. I took it right up to the H1 for a test and it was like a new car! Forget Costco, three hours plus with and appointment, just to rotate and keep the warranty alive. This is way better! read more

I made an appointment online a week and a half ago to have my coolant system flushed last Saturday. I did not receive any kind of follow up or confirmation other than the email from their website. I called just to double check and make sure that I actually had an appointment. The person who answered the phone was not aware of my appointment, but then told me that the mechanic would not be available because they're on vacation, and I would need to reschedule. Additionally, the appointment was too late in the day, and I needed to make it for an earlier time because it was supposedly going to take all day. I was rescheduled for 8am today (Saturday). Nothing was asked about the make, model, or year of my car over the phone, it was only asked online. I didn't offer it, as I assumed they should be able to handle it since it is a service this shop is supposed to offer (while some other locations do not). I showed up to the shop at 7:55 am today and was asked about the details of my car for the first time (Toyota Corolla '11. A REALLY common car) . I was then told that the shop could only really take care of my radiator, and that they didn't have the fluid to replace what was in my car. I was then told that I should make an appointment with a Toyota Service Center. I understand that the timing of when I scheduled my appointment was not ideal, as that was basically when the social distancing and stay-at-home orders were issued, but I feel like some incredibly basic customer service issues occurred that didn't need to. Not only did this absolutely waste my time, it required me to be in a place that I didn't actually need to be in during this outbreak. And this could have been entirely avoided had I been asked one question over the phone a week and a half ago. This seems pretty damn basic for a garage. I now have an appointment with Servco for next week (small miracle that it wasn't further out), so this basically wasted two weeks of my time. I'm still considered "essential" at my job as well, so I don't have the luxury of taking my car in any day of the day. This was an absolute waste of my time, and I am never going there again. It's a total shame since I live four blocks away and I wanted to support a business in my area during the outbreak. Guess I'll just bite the bullet and take it to Servco from now on. read more

I've had acceptable service from these guys in the past. They aren't the friendliest but from the way they talk to other customers, I realized that I shouldn't take it personally. They are like that to everyone: short and unfriendly (unless they are on the phone talking to friends/vendors). I made an appointment online the night before. It was for 8:00am. The person who took me in asked if I would be waiting here: he also let me know that it would be about an hour and a half (long for an oil change, with an appointment). My car didn't make it up on the stands until 9:45am. It's now 10:10am and I'm still waiting for the oil change. 2.5 hours for an oil change....WITH an appointment. They need to update how they manage their appointments and services. I understand "things happen" and thus 3 stars. 4 stars for pricing...2 stars for service and timing...3 stars overall review. read more

Goodyear my @$$! My year with these people was horrible. And expensive... I'll try make those short. My Inside tire was worn out so I went to Costco and replaced all of em ($1000). Took it to goodyear to get aligned where they also sold me on a alignment program. 6 months later (I put low mileage on my car) I go back to Costco to get my tires rotated, and they say the front inside of my NEW tires are bald AGAIN!$!$$$ Took it back to our trusted professionals... with PROFESSIONAL tools at goodyear... Goodyear: your camber is off, and it is not adjustable." Me: just fix whatever you need to get it back to an acceptable range (something mechanical must be wrong unless it was wrong from the factory) Goodyear: we can't. buy and adjustable camber kit. Or on the next service, have them adjust the front wheels toe in.. don't worry I have worked with alignment for 20 years it works... so I left there thinking "WTF do these people do all day? I'm a novice and I know more than him evidently.." So I figured I'd do some investigating with my iPhone light and I found the obvious problem their whole crew and tools couldn't. WORN OUT BUSHINGS!! Picked up a whole front-end set "energy suspension" bushings. brought it to "scotty's alignment & brake services" And my car runs great. read more

Made an appointment for tire change. They told me it will take two hours but they didn't even get to work on my car until 2 and a half hours in. Have been at the place for almost 3 and a half hours and they told me it will be another 30 minutes. So an estimate of 2 hours turned into 4 hours. Completely messed up my plans for the day. Finally returned to have the rest of the tires on my truck replaced & was so impressed by the courtesy of all the staff members. I scheduled an appointment online a day in advance but of course I couldn't tell which tire it was that matched the one they previously installed for me. I got a phone call the same morning after scheduling from Ryan (their tire guy) explaining that the tire I selected on the website was actually out of stock anyway AND wasn't a match to my previous purchase. He made the adjustments so I would have all the same tires AND he even did a price match for me to the cheaper, out of stock tire! When I checked in the next morning to drop off my truck, I also asked if they would be able to squeeze in an oil change for me also. I was assured they could & they would call me once everything was done. They got everything done in UNDER the quoted time frame (which was initially 2.5hrs when I spoke to Ryan on the phone the day before & a "few hours" by the gentleman helping me check in the morning of). I made an online appointment they had it on the books, but they said the wait was 3 hours or more.. When online said it was an 1 hour appointment only getting oil changed. When I drove in I could see lots of cars but thought I am early so maybe they all will be finishing up. NOPE... was informed that the online will just keep taking appointments. In this day in age your online appointment should be able to communicate with your operating system. IF NOT SHUT YOUR ON LINE DOWN.... I wasted 25 min drive to and from and NO SERVICE!!! Bought a new truck and made an online appointment for an oil change and was told couldn't do it when I arrived due to they were too busy. WTF! I had an appointment to change my tires for last Friday. When I arrived they told me they are far behind schedule and if I could leave my car here for at least 3 hrs. I didn't have that much time so I rescheduled for Monday at 8 am. I dropped my car off and they told me it would take 1.5 hrs. When I got back after almost 1.5 hrs they haven't even started to work on my car and told me it would take another 1 or 1.5 hrs. Like seriously, you make me reschedule and come by twice. What's the reason to schedule an appointment? You should call the customers and let them know that you are behind schedule instead of let them come to you and find out that way. That's disrespectful to your client's time. read more

Tire pressure light came on and even after I put air in all four tires, it stayed on. Made an online appointment. I then realized I am overdue for an oil change. Crap. I got here and asked if they could work that in. They looked at my appointment and said I probably didn't need the alignment check, they would see. (I had to be at work in 2.5 hours.) I told them I was gonna grab a bite to eat, walking distance to Sweet E's woohoo, and they could call me with whatever happened. I got a couple minutes out, and they called me. Yes on the oil change!!! Nice staff! Do their best to help their customers. I came back and my car was up in the air getting worked on. Worse place to take your car!! Take it anywhere but here! Took it in twice. Had my car for over 2 hours to tell me they couldn't find the problem. The second time I made a point for them to check my engine belts... front desk guy said he can't do anything until they "hear" something. Called to pick it up because they didn't find anything..as I drive out of the lot immediately the noice appears...starts again. CLEARLY DIDNT DO ANYTHING or even check! Then proceeds to tell me the noice is from my AC ...my AC isn't even on... Took it to my uncle that's into cars tells me I'm 5 seconds what it was .. I wanted to make sure wasn't going to die...like I asked the guy at the front desk and he said you'll be fine...WRONG. He shouldn't even work there or suggest things if he doesn't even know what he's talking about! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! 100% would NOT recommend! Unethical business behavior! CON ARTISTS! I got SCAMMED and CAR GOT SABOTAGED!!! They basically turned a bad day, to THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!!! I came in this morning requesting to have my tire looked at because I ran over a nail. Brought my car into the shop. The CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS DISPICABLE and HORRIBLE. The worker name "Lemwell" gave me attitude for no apparent reason. I was calm and was really hopeful for them to give a look at my punctured tire that sat in my trunk as I had my spare tire currently on my car. Lemwell was too busy sipping on his Big Gulp while talking to me and was very disrespectful and short with me on the details of the fix. He told me he couldn't service my car for another 3hours or so, which I totally understood for me being a 'walk-in' customer. As I left the keys with The Goodyear employee, I literal handed my trust with them properly and professionally handling my tire and ONLY MY TIRES. I received a call about an hour later, from "Garrett" saying that my tire was not fixable due to the puncture being too close to the sidewalk of the tire. Again, I get It, stuff happens totally understandable. They tried their best to pitch me a deal to buy a new tire from them, however i respectfully declined their offer, for i was still deciding my options. I told them that I wont be able to get the car until two hours later for I am a college student and had classes until later in the afternoon. Immediately after my classes, (total another 2hours later), I went to pick up my car. AGAIN, Lemwell had a sassy attitude when I came to pick up my keys. This time he was acting a bit suspicious and wanting me to get out as soon as I git into my car. Once I opened the door I immediately saw things not in the same placement as I put It in the car. My floor mat was turned sideways and ground was messy. *looked like someone was in a rush* As soon as I turn on my car I heard a rattling sound coming from the engine. As I reversed and trying to turn the wheel, my steering wheel was totally hard to turn and felt as if my steering wheel weighed 100lbs. Keep in mind, my car was working perfectly fine before leaving It with them and all I needed done was MY TIRES. So the only reason they should have been in my car was to get my flat tire in the trunk, NOT TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE. I went back inside and explained to Lemwell what problems have occurred and him and the crew working that day tried to be so innocent by denying having operated my vehicle and being in my car. The person who was handling my services, so It said on the paper, was named "Hyo". When I asked to speak to a manager, Lemwell replied that he left for the day and will be back the next morning. When I asked for the second man in charge, Lemwell replied that he indeed was the next in charge. THIS IS HOW I KNOW THIS PLACE IS CORRUPT, UNETHICAL, and CERTAINLY NOT WORTH IT! As I later discovered while having to wait for a tow truck to arrive to transport my immobilized vehicle, the timing belt connect to my engine fan was nearly slipping off its track. My pully and power steering pump were VANDALIZED by being cut and bolts from my engine pully were missing. THE CAR WAS LITERALLY NOT SAFE TO DRIVE! I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED BY DRIVING IT (if I did, but did not) OR WORSE, I COULD HAVE INJURED OTHERS ON THE ROAD. PLEASE HELP ME BY SHARING THE WORD! IF ANY ONE HAS HAD AN EXPERIENCE SIMILAR TO MINE, PLEASE LIKE OR COMMENT BELOW. hopefully we can get enough support on this matter, and have the Better Business Bureau notified. Made an appointment online the day before my appointment around 3 PM. Scheduled the oil change for the following day at 5 PM because the website allows me to. I get a missed call from a number but I'm with patients so I cannot answer it. But there was no voicemail left so figured it was just a spam caller. On the day of the appointment, I got no phone calls from Goodyear. I show up for my appointment and tell the worker that I'm there for a 5 o'clock oil change. She goes "5? I close at 5.". Yet everywhere it shows that they close at 7. Then she tells me that she called multiple times and left voice mails. So I looked at my voicemail inbox and showed her that there were no messages and I only got 1 missed call yesterday. My thing is if you know there is an appointment scheduled for the "ending of the day" why don't you call them? And don't lie and say you left messages when it's 2023 and people can just pull up the actual info. Brought my car in for air conditioning problems. The lot was packed. It was late in the morning and the counter service guy, Lem, was upfront about possibly not being able to get to the diagnostics that day. Knowing this might happen helped me to plan my childcare. So, I really appreciated the honesty and mindfulness he had. It turned out that they were able to diagnose the issue late that afternoon. And although the scope of the job was beyond what they could do at their shop, they didn't try to gouge me with any unnecessary overcharge. Lem was also super helpful in recommending a quality place that could do the job. I had tire work done there in the past. So I knew they were a good place. But, the experience today made them my "go to" place from now own for basic auto diagnostics, maintenance and repair. read more

I took my truck in for a wheel alignment at 8am appointment. Technicians were very friendly, and the wheel alignment only took about 40 mins! I made a phone appointment last week for a 12 o'clock appointment and decided to wait, bad decision, took 2.5 hours. Finally the service agent said the reason they are behind is because the online reservations can take 5 appointments for the same time and they can't do anything about that. Let's just say that a few condescending remarks from the clerk really turned me off from ever using their services. Perhaps he was having a stressful day, but he didn't seem incredibly happy to be there to begin with. It is also important to note that while you may have received a confirmation for an appointment made online, there may be a possibility that a mechanic isn't even working during that time to help you out with your car woes. (I think this is more of a Goodyear corporate problem, though.) It's also difficult to call them (you're put on hold until you reach retirement age,) so you may want to visit them in person if you have to. With all of the perfectly nice, family-run auto repair shops up the street, I kick myself for even considering this place! =/ read more

Ryan and the employees at this GoodYear location are awesome and went out of the way to help me out. Another tire shop stripped one of my lug nuts and couldn't get it off. Took my car to the Waialae Goodyear and these guys must have gone through the entire book of tricks to get my lug nut out and replaced! Throughout the whole ordeal, they kept me up to date with what was going on and got my car back to me quickly. Will definitely be going back here for all my wheel and tire needs. read more

Honestly, I hate having to write a bad review. I know these guys work hard at what they do and are offering a service. But when I created my appointment online 2 days prior and show up here in the early morning hours to get my 8am time slot, no one is here as far as customers, why make an appointment if you aren't even going to take a second look at my car and it's now two hours later?? I only came in for an oil change and 29 point inspection. I look at my invoice and they didn't even do the inspection! But having an appointment makes no damn difference than just walking in here! I brought my car in for a brake job two years ago. They replaced pads, flushed out my brake lines and cut the rotors. Everything was fine for one year. Just after about one year when I braked at higher speeds my steering wheel would shake like crazy. I took it back and they cut my rotors again. Everything was fine for one year. Then again the steering wheel would shake like crazy at high speeds. I recently took it in again for a free inspection. The Filipino guy calls me back and said he recommends I replace my pads, rotors and once again flush out my brake lines at a cost of $500. Rip off artist!!! No quality work!!! Don't go there!! I also went a previous time and told them my steering wheel shakes on low speeds and goes away on higher speeds. He felt my tires and said they were defective and recommend they be replaced for $500. Took my car to Lexus dealer and they said the tires were low on air. They put air in to specs and all is okay now. This time was the older guy with glasses. STAY AWAY!!!!! read more
