I can't remember the last time that I've been to this franchise, as I usually go to Take 5, but I'll definitely never go back to this spot. The first alarm bell was that they made me get out of my car. I just want to get in and get out. There should be no need for me to get out of my car for a quick oil change. The second alarm bell was that the few men on staff were swearing up and down that I had been in to their shop recently (I had not) and that they had recently had a car "just like that." It wasn't just one or two comments, but went on for a few minutes and creeped me out. The third alarm bell was that after I filled out my information in the iPad provided and asked if my Veteran/Military discount was included, I was told that it should all transfer from my current profile. I didn't have a current profile. I haven't been to a Famous in many, many years. As I was waiting in their office waiting area, one of the guys came in to walk me out to my car and, basically, up charge me on stuff. I commute to St Augustine every day for work, so I'm staying on top of my oil changes and fluids. However, I'm fairly certain that my coolant needed to be topped off, so I let them do it. That said, I was told that my Veterans discount would "transfer over" and it wasn't included and that they were going to put the current oil that I was using in my car, which was non-synthetic, and they put in synthetic thinking that I wouldn't notice. When my bill popped up to be nearly $200, I looked at it and said that I don't put synthetic oil in this car and that kind of oil should not have been used. The guy at the desk took it down to a regularly priced oil change, but not without making comments in a smarmy tone like "the customer is always right" and generally making me feel like he got caught trying to upcharge me. I felt very uncomfortable from start to finish here. Everyone, ladies especially, avoid this place at all costs.

The man was pleasant and said 10-15 minutes, so I went ahead and left my truck and went inside. The waiting room is very small but clean and offers water and coffee, and each person I encountered was friendly. In a few minutes, someone explained the cost and recommended add ons, of which I picked a few (air filter, etc) and okayed it. Honestly, had I asked for the price beforehand, I likely would have pulled out. But it was already in and it was very needed, so I handed over my card. It ended up taking about 20 minutes, but still very reasonable, so was worth the added cost over other options where I would have waited much longer. Well they don't check all the fluids and other items. After I notice a slight drip thinking they didn't wipe it off good so I do. Then the engine starts to tick and oil starts to leak a little more. I take it back they say they didn't replace the drain plug but it doesn't look too bad and will order the drain plug (even though they had it on hand last time). I take it home check the oil a few days later as now it has leaked all over my driveway after sitting for the weekend since it's my work vehicle. The oil is still full and now I look closer it is severely overfilled. Take it back again and the same tech is there and does not recall the conversation we had and did not order the plug. Did the oil change for free but waited almost an hour for the plug and wanted to dismiss my claim of if the oil is overfilled it would cause my lifters to tick. I have worked on my personal vehicle for a decade and was not pleased at with how this was handled and now have oil stained on my driveway.
