My husband went in to get his tires installed and they took him as a walk in didn't wait too long and was informed every step of the way how many people he had ahead of him. A few days later there was air coming out of the valve, he gave mavis a call and the manager told him to bring the truck in whenever he could so they could fix it. Where do I start? I schedule to have my oil changed at Mavis Tire and Break on Dunn Avenue in Jacksonville Florida. I was quoted a price of eighty dollars however, they charged me $90 for full-synthetic. When I usually get my oil changed at the Mavis Tire and Brake on in Orange Park on Blanding Blvd, they only charge me atound $72 -$74. But that's not the only thing. I arrived early because my appointment was at 3 PM and I arrived around 2:40 PM. However I did not leave until around 4:10 pm or 4:15 pm. They did not provide me with an agreement paper to sign before the oil change, so I did not see that it was more expensive than what they quoted on the phone. The next day I smelled oil in my garage and I was scared to turn my ignition. When I drove it to the Mavis in Orange Park, it was stuttering and it smelled of oil. Mike and the crew at Mavis Tire and Brake off Blanding Blvd were amazing!! They immedialy saw that the oil tank was overfull. Once they put it on the lift oil immediately began to pour out because the mechanic who worked on my car on Dunn Ave, forgot to put the oil cap back on . So when I returned home, there was a huge puddle of oil in my garage. If you would like to continue going to Mavis Tire & Brake, I highly recommend the one on Blanding Blvd in Orange Park . Pulled into this business and attempted to park in a stall. I did not know it was against their policy to do so. Two guys cane out, one of which waving his arms telling me to move my vehicle and the other telling me I was gonna get them in trouble. It is not the fact that they told me I was wrong but it was the rude manner in which they did. I parked my car and went into to the office. I asked if they could plug my tire and they said they don't plug tires they patch them and gave me a reasonable price. They says it would take 45 minutes. There was no one working in any of the bays so I was shocked on the time frame they gave. . I asked them if they could get started right away because I was in a hurry. I took my vehicle to Mavis on Blanding Blvd to get shocks changed. I'm almost positive they sliced my cv axle boot on purpose so I would have to bring it back. The area was clean when I changed the tie rods the week before. Day after I get the shocks changed I've got cv grease leaking out and a perfect slice like from a razor. Not sure how to confront or prove cause I know they are going to deny it. read more

All I really needed was a light bulb changed and they were so gracious, nice, and professional! They fixed my problem that the other guys from tire plus couldn't do yesterday. Worst experience as far as Customer Service goes at the Blanding location Mavis tire located next-door to Trulieve just before you get to Orange park high school. This location does not treat you with respect does not recognize that you have walked into their establishment in the store manager Tim has no concept of customer service or wanting to help anyone out through my experience my keys were lost and I was placed out of line by four customers for a routine tire patch which ultimately ultimately turned into having to buy a new tire because they didn't want to repair the tire furthermore the store manager was not willing to accommodate my lack of customer experience and I will be riding the corporate office. He spoke to Adam the RTM which I had no idea what that is since I don't work for the company and he was able to give me a for the discount I generally love the Mavis company as I get great customer service from the Bartram Park location on a regular basis I would not recommend Blanding until they get a new store manager maybe promote the assistant manager that was there because he displayed better customer service for anyone else having trouble with this location and you need the corporate number it is 914-984-2500 read more

My son came in to get an alignment on his vehicle, and for some strange reason his door handle came off. Now mind you my son has had this car for over 3 years and this has never happened. My dad recommended him to go to this place to get his car aligned before he heads back to college. I miss Sun Tire. The assistant manager I spoke with was very short with me. My son made a mistake and went to the Blanding location instead of Park Ave when he made the appointment. I will NEVER go to the Blanding location and I will be calling the manager and if that doesn't get resolved I will be calling the corporate office. I was not able to do no stars. I bought my tires from Sun Tires for years. Then Mavis acquired them. They honored Sun Tires commitments til recently. I needed 2 but probably 4 so I had them determine my oldest set which I was told were my rear tires. Perfect because the driver rear had been leaking so I opted for the 2 and would get the other 2 later. I'm on SSI ( fixed income). Well... even my old tires had decent tread yet just old. After awhile I noticed my driver side rear tire losing air.... a lot and after reviewing I noticed it wasn't the rear tires they replaced but the front. I'm a female but I'm not stupid.... New tires should be put on rear no matter what. So now I need 2 more tires ( less than 6 months and they want 30.00 more) and When I went to request the order I felt they were short and rude so I'm on fence about doing any more business with them. I can't say how much my visit there sucked. I was on a time crunch. I called ahead and was told I'd be in and out in 20 minutes. After being there for half an hour the girl at the front desk comes up and says they did the their safety in election and that I needed new brake pads and rotors, and the brake fluid was black and needed to be changed...... I just had the brakes Redone a month ago, and be brake fluid changed at the dealership. The cost was going to be $350. I told Her all I needed was the tires, that I brought with me To be mounted And balanced. I told her all I want is the tires I brought put on the car. It took another hour to make That happen. I was there for 1 hr 45 min to get 2 tires taken off, and mounted and balanced. My time was wasted so that they could try and get $600 out of me. I will NEVER go to Mavis ever again. read more

This has been my go to place for brakes and tires for my vehicles and my wife's vehicles for last 5 years. However when it came down to honouring their products/service they dropped the ball and we will not be returning. I purchased new ($250 ea) tires. I ended blowing one when I hit a pot hole just up the street and was pleased that I was close enough to pull in for the repair. That's where my elation ended. Glen, the manager informed me that since I hit a curb that the road hazard warranty would not apply. I advised him that I did not hit a curb, I hit a pot hole just down the street and could show him exactly which one. (I even went back and took photos). He said "one way or another he would get me in a new tire." I did not take that to mean it would be without cost, I took it that he would see what he could do. They were busy since an employee called off (apparently by the conversations Glen had with other customer this happens often). They pushed me off until the next day. When I returned the next morning my tire was ready to be installed. I reiterated my concern that "what is the point of a road hazard warranty if it doesn't cover road hazzards?" He replied, "well I'm not the one who hit the curb." I told him that I hadn't hit a curb either and could show him the exact pot hole I did hit (and not at high speed either) as it was mere blocks away and that I have photos. He essentially then called me a liar and said that pot holes leave two marks on the tire and curbs leave only one. I told him that I would pay for the tire because I have integrity but that I am paying under protest. He got huffy clicked a few keys on his computer and then said, "well you don't have road hazard on your tires anyway, you didn't pay for road hazard you only have the road hazard warranty that we gave to you at no charge." Quite honestly, I don't care whether or not the road hazard warranty is an additional charge or is complimentary it's Road Hazzard Warranty! This is an excuse for a company to NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS AND SERVICE. This has cost the two customers in my wife and I. I cannot direct others to look to SunTire's competitors when deciding where to buy their tires but I do say, Caveat emptor - Let The Buyer Beware!!! read more

I needed 2 tires they had to order them on Friday as they didn't have my size in stock. I came back yesterday afternoon Saturday which is their busiest day. It took about 1hr 45 min. Absolute worst experience ever! My grown children took my car there as I had a screw in the tire. After 30 minutes my children called me to tell me the tech said my tires are dry rotted and I need new tires. My son in law, which is a mechanic, said my tires were fine. Told the tech just patch the tire. Not one person spoke with them, but rather they called me 30 minutes later trying to sell me 4 new tires. Mind you, I just had general work done at my dealership 3 months ago and was advised in writing that my tires were in good shape with very little wear, no rot. I explained this to the gentleman calling me to sell me tires. He rudely informed me that DOT states I have to have my tires replaced every 6 years. This is not true. DOT recommends tires to be replaced between 6 to 10 years., never says "have to" replace them. I get sales quotas, but down right lying to someone is unacceptable. I was warned by many people not to go there, since it is no longer Sun Country Tire. I should have listened. They refused to patch my tire and handed the keys back to my children. So happy to say that tire shops are a dime a dozen on Blanding and not all of them are crooks. Tire patched and guess what...no dry rot was found. I have been a customer for this location for more than 10 years. I own three cars and this was where buy all of our tires from. Last year I brought a set of 4 tires for my car. They supposedly came with a "50,000 mile warranty". 10,000 miles later one of the tires is coming apart for a defect. They did not credit me 1 cent. i had to pay full price for a new tire. They told me to call the manufacture. All they are interested now that they are Mavis is making your bill as much as possible by cross selling you with additional stuff. never going back. read more

My husband is an ASE GM tech. He has always worked on my Tahoe. Since he works in Brunswick, he trusted Sun Tire to put on 4 new tires. The manager, Glenn Lockhart, recommended brakes. This was spot on and, my husband got around to them a few days ago. He was VERY disappointed the tire tech had broken a wheel stud off the right front. Not only did he not repair it, he failed to even mention it. Safety issue as well as dishonest. I hope Mr Lockhart can research my service on 4/2, 1999 Tahoe and at least call out the culprit. I saw the message "tire pressure low" on my dashboard and had my dad check the tire pressure. He found what appeared to be a slow leak on the rear passenger tire and suspected I ran over a nail. I decided to have a mechanic check it out before I drove 35+ miles to work and then 35+ back home since I was worried about a blowout on 295. I waited for an hour before my car was put on the rack - people were already there and it was only 50 minutes after they opened. I had called ahead and let them know I'd be coming in. Suddenly, the manager tells me that I'm "all set" and they checked the pressure in each tire. I asked if he found anything wrong and he said that a nail was found and they patched it. I went on my way, relieved that I decided to have it looked at before I went on my way over to Mayport. Lo and behold, I'm more than 3/4 of the way there when the "tire pressure low" indicator comes back on! I basically freak out internally and I'm really upset because I wasted 2 hours of pay and now the same thing is happening again. I start trying to tell myself that it could be a faulty sensor or that the gauge needs to be reset, but my conscience wouldn't have it - something was wrong. I got out at work, looked at all 4 tires, and couldn't find anything wrong. I immediately go inside to clock in and then call Sun Tire to apprise them of the situation and ask exactly what they did to my tire while I was there because I realized that I was not given an invoice (I was not charged anything) proving that work had been performed. The guy (Ian?) puts me on hold and then comes back to tell me that they dismounted the tire, patched the nail hole from inside, and then remounted the tire. When I told him the pressure was low, he asked if I could come back in. Hello?!? I'm already in Mayport at work and I don't plan to leave for another several hours. He acted aloof and said, "Well, try to get here as soon as you can..." Basically, I'm supposed to drop everything and drive - DANGEROUSLY - on a tire that is unstable? Nope, not going to do that. Fortunately, I have a great boss who assures me that I am allowed to leave early to get this taken care of. I researched heavily and talked to a few people at work - one of which recommended Discount Tire on Beach Blvd. She's been there several times and has always been impressed with their customer service. I called them up to let them know I would be coming before they closed. I left work at 4:30 and made the drive, praying the whole time that the tire wouldn't go flat (it looked fine again when I got in the car). I get to Discount Tire and the manager inspected the tire with me and guess what we found?!?! The nail that Sun Tire supposedly removed, deeply embedded in the area between the tread!!! It didn't happen today - it has been in there for a while. Basically, I'm fuming mad by this point and so irritated that they let me drive UNSAFE on the expressway when that was the whole point of my visit! Anyway, I ended up getting all 4 tires replaced since the tread was heavily worn and Discount Tire offered a great rebate on a set. I left there with my confidence in Sun Tire shaken and Discount Tire made my day. I will NEVER set foot in Sun Tire again after this incident because I cannot trust them! I plan to call tomorrow and give them an earful, but I suspect they may just blow it off and say they had nothing to do with it... read more

I've been going to Suntire for over 20 years. When Glenn started, I went to Suntire to fix everything on my cars. He would tell me the truth if I needed something done or not. He would speak to me in a way I understood and didn't make be feel stupid. He treated me with respect. A month or so ago, I had a flat tire and called to see what we should do. (I slacked off giving my review earlier) Anyway, Glenn has always helped me. I knew we had just got new tires. A man named Philip answered. He was rude and said it's only covered if we have the right policy. He wouldn't look it up. I went ahead and had our car towed. Philip was interesting. He was sitting back in the office with his legs kicked up eating something sloppy. Food was all in his beard. Glenn has always run a clean place and no employee was sloppy. I asked for Glenn and was told he was no longer there. Apparently, Glenn "retired" and ALL of the mechanics left with him. There is NO ONE the originally were there that is left. Philip was temporary manager. A different guy looked up my account and said we only had new tires on other car. I had to argue with him. They were so rude. FINALLY, he said... oh, its probably in the other system. Naturally, I was right. They were short staffed and a new mechanic came in and didn't seem to know much what he was doing. The lack of knowledge was making me nervous. The new staff was acting like a stereotypical mechanic in the movies and I was being treated like a stereotypical "female". Woman knows nothing. They finally fixed my tire. I also found out that Suntire was bought out by Mavis. Maybe that has something to do with it but I don't know. I do know the place was dirty, the staff rude, and I was treated like i was a dumb female. I hope this is just a 1 time thing.
