My boyfriend and I were on our way from Hampton Roads to the Charlottesville area to celebrate our anniversary when my pesky "check tire pressure light" came on. We stopped at a local gas station so I could check out the tires (safety first!) and sure enough, there was a HUGE screw wedged into one of them. We were both disappointed but knew we needed to get this checked stat. We ended up at this Goodyear purely by coincidence, but I'm so glad we did. I am kicking myself for not catching the gentleman's name, but he was super helpful and understanding. He came out to look at my tire, noting the damage from the screw was so severe that they'd have to replace the entire tire. Fortunately, they had my rare model of tire in stock. He said it would be a 3-4 hour wait, so we nestled into the waiting room, trying to make the best of it. He was super nice throughout the wait, changing the channel to a more interesting program (ie not a little kids show) and continued to chat us up. We only waited a little less than an hour before I was called up to the counter - my car was ready! I thanked all of the guys behind the counter, because I was so grateful they got us back out on the road safely and quickly. Considering they knew our weekend travel plans, I have a sneaking suspicion they expedited my easy-peasy job. read more

Ever since new management has taken over, this location has gotten progressively worse. Will (the old manager) used to take care of me every time I came in. I've been bringing my cars to this location since I started driving in 2006, and I will NEVER be back. I bought my car in because of a fast blinker and a clogged windshield sprayer. Due to COVID, I dropped my car off on a Tuesday (I think) with the expectation it would be ready the following day. I called to see if my car was ready after 12pm and was told it was. I had someone drop me off only to be told they got me confused with another person, FINE. I sit and wait (because my ride is gone). They then deliver me a car that has nothing fixed, but costs me $145! I took my car to a Meineke and got everything fixed in 1 day for a reasonable price. Their attempt at diagnostics was WRONG, and for me to have to go to another shop. The new management and new techs here are terrible! You've lost a customer of over 10 years behind this! read more

Not very knowledgeable about State or out of state inspections .. the man who answered the phone seemed clueless about out of state inspections and stated it. Couldn't be done ... it can and it was .. at grease monkey location .. I'd be wary letting someone work with my vehicle who pretends to know things and can't admit they're wrong read more

Update: WOW again for this place! During the oil change I mentioned in my previous review (the one where the LIED about my needing pads and rotors on my Celica) I also requested my cabin air filter changed. Well, this car isn't my primary vehicle and is seldom driven, so it just recently came time to change said filter again. I had my usual mechanic across town handle it smelting an oil change and he showed me the old one which was shoved in bent and backwards and he said "who did this... no wonder it hasn't been doing it's job" This place can't even get a FILTER right! LESSON LEARNED. On the occasions I've tried to use one of these places for a basic oil change to save going across town and waiting a long time at my regular independent mechanic, I have generally ended up with LIES and CRAP work. When you find a good mechanic, just take off early from work and drive. I will NEVER go here again. read more

Made an appointment ....showed up to to it and was told "we're not taking any appointments today....we called ppl and told them not to come" ...... Ummm what? What's the point of an appointment then and why wasn't I called ? Not only that....I spoke with someone this morning and confirmed my appointment . He agreed to squeeze me in...great! Oh wait...there's more....did he really Point out something on my ticket and say "this is not getting done today" Lmaooooo what??? I made an "appointment" online for an inspection and an oil change, with a customer service representative. I show up at the scheduled time only to be told I do not have an appointment because apparently it is illegal to make an appointment for an inspection in VA??!! Wtf?! Thanks for wasting my time Goodyear! If this is true, then the representatives working the online chat need to be aware of this asap. Also the representative at the shop was rude and unaccommodating. read more

I've bought tires here a couple times and I usually get my safety inspections completed here. There is rarely a backlog and I can usually get my car in the same day or next day at the latest. That said, I did have them turn my brake rotors once and it didn't go so well. Afterwords, there was a constant thumping on the driver-side front rotor. When I took the truck back, they drove it around and told me they thought there may have been a hot spot in the rotor so that when it was turned, the hot spot couldn't be smoothed out as much as the rest of the rotor. They said it should go away after the pad wears to match the spot. Well, it did get better but never really went away. I finally bought my own new rotors, installed them myself, and the thumping was gone. They claimed that since the hot spot was inherent in the rotor, they were not at fault and couldn't replace them at their cost. They did offer to install new rotors free of charge if I purchased them. I don't know enough about the metallurgy involved with break rotors to argue, but it was an experience I keep with me. I don't get the impression that they try to oversell me on anything so I will continue to purchase my tires through these guys. For other work, I'll likely stick with the "do-it-yourself" approach, then I only have one person to blame if it goes wrong! read more

HORRIBLE. I have never written a review until now but I have to warn people. DO NOT go to this Goodyear. The service is the worst I've ever experienced out of any company in my life. I was told my car would be ready in a few hours. Then they tell me 4 days later that they ordered the wrong size rims and it would be an additional 5-7 days until my car would be ready. The staff was completely unapologetic and were incompetent at their jobs. 0/5. read more

The employees here like to try and rip people off for more money. I took my 2016 Nissan Altima to them for a synthetic oil change and free tire rotation that was supposed to take an hour. Well 4 hrs later it was finished and all they did was a oil change, what happened to the tire rotation. Well apparently they couldn't do it because my tires were'nt wearing evenly, well aint that why I need one. They wanted to charge me $189.99 for a 3 year alignment and then another 300.00+ for brakes cause apparently mine were at the minimum. I'm still confused how they knew I needed brakes if they didn't even take the wheels off the car, even I'm not that STUPID. Oh and I needed a new rear brake light at another 30.00. I told them no thanks and left. Knowing I probably needed an alignment I took it elsewhere for 69.99 and was told the alignment wasn't that bad, and they guy even told me my brakes had about 2/3rd of shoe left on them (which I'm certain is true because I just had the car inspected 1 month prior to the oil change). Fast forward to this morning and I get a notification on my car that my oil needs changed (WHY, I've only driven exactly 3,000 miles and my settings in my car are set for 7,500 miles). Well checking my settings, it seems as though instead of the just clearing the message when they changed the oil they took it upon themselves to change settings in my car. Synthetic oil doesn't need to be changed every 3,000 miles. Now I have to keep clearing the message every morning until its time to change my oil. They also disabled my tire rotation setting, changed my light brightness, the color of my dash lighting, and unplugged my rear brake light. read more
