They hype this place up too much. On my way back home from Palm Springs we decided to stop here for some breakfast. The service was good but the food was not good at all. The food is good, but the pricing has become absolutely ridiculous. I always get the pastrami. I ordered today and the size of the sandwich I got was a joke. Had a bad experience here once and was convinced to give it another shot. This spot is 4 stars for the area it's in. There's not a lot to eat around here but it's one of the better options. Carne asada fries are actually pretty good and hamburgers aren't bad. The service seems overwhelmed which isn't really the workers fault since they are all running back and forth. As I walked in I immediately noticed the cleanliness of the place. There was a gentleman in front of me still debating on what he wanted to order. I don't blame him because this restaurant has a ver big menu with different food options that range from good 'ol taco shop food to a nice burger and fries. The cashier was waiting patiently. And as I walked up to the desk to order, he greeted me with a warm smile. I ordered my food, a chicken melt combo with bacon and avocado, and he kindly charged me and informed of the approximate wait time, 15 minutes. After a quick visit to the exceptionally clean Men's room, I took a seat at a booth. As a I waited for my food to come out, I noticed the atmosphere of the restaurant was very calm. An older couple was enjoying lunch behind me and you could tell they were enjoying their food as they, and almost everyone else in the restaurant, could not get a word out before taking another bite of their delicious meal. After about 16 minutes my food was ready. I have to say, Goody's did not disappoint. My chicken melt was fresh off the panini grill. Cheese melted like liquid gold around the most tender chicken breast. The avocado tasted of golden state goodness and the bacon was perfectly crisp with just enough oil running off it. The sandwich did not stand a chance. Within minutes I devoured it, leaving nothing to waste and even licking the paper they used to wrap it. The fries were beautifully crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfectly salted, and nothing but perfection. I will definitely be making this place a lunch staple of mine. Came here with family today while in town for a work trip. My aunt and uncle say this is one of their favorite places to eat. The man had a breakfast burrito with chorizo, eggs, cheese, and beans he really liked it, I had a bite and it was tasty. I had a taco salad with ground beef and it was huge, fresh, and filling. What was nice was that the deep fried shell was not greasy. My uncle got the french toast breakfast and it smelled wonderful again large portion. My aunt got an omelet and she said it was good. Overall this has a diner feel to it and it is a way better choice than the denny's in the same parking lot. The restaurant was clean and the had a lot of different options of creamer for coffee. I'm giving Goodies a solid 4 stars. There is always room for improvement. My husband, company and my family stopped in for breakfast this morning. This is the place to stop in for breakfast if you're a hearty chow hound. Their plates are FULL. Niece didn't care for her pastrami sandwich. She said the brad was soggy and there was far too much mustard on it Hmmmm, that's what you get if you order lunch at 8 in the morning. The fellas had their eggs over easy. The eggs where beautiful. You can tell the chef knew his eggs. I had a 3 egg Denver omelet. I'm not a big eater so I ordered a doggy bag with my meal. I took 3/4 of the egg dish home. The hashbrowns were nicely browned and crisp. I could have blown off the ham and had extra mushrooms, but I ate as much as it could. We like rye bread, and the bread they are using was very tasty. Sounds kind of odd to talk about the bread they us, but rye bread isn't a fixture in most restaurants anymore. Be advised, Goodies has Pepsi products. They do however, carry Mexican Coke in bottles. For anyone not knowing what that is, it is Coke made with cane sugar, instead of high fructose syrup. So I'm giving Goodies 4 stars. Well first off 20% discount for having a CDL. There were two of us on one order and we only got one discount so in actuality it was only a 10% disc if u r a couple. The girl ringing didn't understand. So when we got R food I mentioned it to R server and she said she would take care of it. They voided our first one and rerung it!! So ok the girl ringing still young... I'm just sayin.. Anyway now the food : both had t-bone n eggs. Med rare and medium. Steak had good flavor but tuff. My husband order the number 12 in breakfast and we waited more then 30 minutes and I saw how they was giving our food to someone else then when they was going to give him he's food they realiza that they given the wrong plate. They didn't say I'm sorry, please wait we will make it right. No! I went and told them that I saw what they did and then they was like we will give it to you in two minutes. They didn't give us anything mean while we waited again to make up the mistake! Bad service bad food dirty tables excessively long wait concerning the restaurant was empty. The food was so greasy I couldn't finish it. I guess that's why it was empty. I'm sorry I don't like complaining but if there's three staff members standing chitchatting I would think they could see the 2 out of 3 tables they were just to the side of the register needed cleaning! Sadly, customer service, getting order properly, is next to impossible if you ask for anything "special", such as , "no thousand island dressing", or, "well done". They do not actually know menu, these are "new" issues, with "new" owner. When price is reflective of a higher quality food, one simply does not deserve less than hot dog stand service, which has been the "new", under "new ownership". New management/owner seems very eager to provide good customer service, sadly seems very unable to train staff. read more
