I stumbled upon CJ Diner while taking my car to AG Auto Care next door. I noticed there was a diner within walking distance, so my son and I decided to check it out--and I'm glad we did. We were seated right away and chose to sit on the patio since the weather was nice. The patio had a shaded seating area which made it really comfortable. My 3-year-old ordered the kids' egg breakfast, and the portions were very generous. I would have liked the hash browns to be a little crispier, but they were still good overall. I can't quite remember our server's name--I believe it was Pam--but she was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our visit. I kept things simple and ordered the 6 oz grilled chicken with a side of sweet potato and avocado since I'm trying to watch what I eat (doctor's orders). What I really had my eye on, though, was the Reuben sandwich--maybe next time! Overall, it was a great little diner and a nice surprise find. Lovely little locals diner with a great atmosphere. The service was quick and friendly, which we really appreciated. The food was very good overall. It's been years since we were at CJ's. We were greeted with good service and a friendly environment. We ended up there because I was looking for fish and chips, and CJ's didn't disappoint. I don't know if it's the best in the valley but it was good. My wife has corn beef hash. It was good as were the hash browns. This was a great lunch choice. Can't wait to go back. read more

I atoppwd here on a su day morning around 8:15. Never knew it was there and found it on yelp. I sat at the counter and had a coffee and a veggie omlet ot wad dwlish one of the bettwr ones i had. Found this place because we dropped off our car at the body shop and we're looking to get some breakfast. We sat at the bar and the service was awesome and the food was done just right. Just flat out terrible. Food was dry and not very good. Waitress couldn't be worse! From the second we walked in, she was rude and didn't show much care. Constantly on her phone and took forever to complete the most simple tasks. The place was empty! There was 7 of us and when we went to complain the owner said it was wrong that it was six or more even if it wasn't disclosed anywhere. He also stated it was a "law" that 6 or more required 20%. This spot is tucked between an industrial district, which reminded me of Karen's Cafe just northwest of this restaurant. It was clearly good because a lot of people were having breakfast. Seeing as I didn't need a table, I sat at the bar and had bacon and eggs with hash browns that were a bit greasy because I ended up yacking out the grease later that day. They were crispy perfectly but they needed to lighten up on the oil used. Eggs were plentiful and delicious, bacon was crispy and light. The toast was a tough consumption. I've never had sourdough that tough to chew before. Overall, I was pleased with breakfast before heading out for a long day of tennis, the help was at my need and they work hard there. I was disappointed that I couldn't try their cinnamon rolls because of Lent. I will give it a try next time. read more

Very friendly staff in a nice and bright dining space. Ham steak and eggs is my go to and it didn't disappoint. My wife had the smoked salmon and was happy with it. With a 20% tip it came to $78 for breakfast which I think is on the expensive side. read more

Looking for a great local breakfast spot for breakfast then look no further. The BEST service! Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Always made sure our coffee and water were filled. Helen is the sweetest. The food was great. I had the standard sausage ( patties) and eggs with the crispiest hash browns. So good. When I asked if I could get a biscuit for my toast option our server responded with, " We can do anything here at CJ's." Love it. We were celebrating our friends birthday and they brought her the best and biggest slice of decadent chocolate cake and they all sang to her. If weather permits highly recommend the patio. Great shade form the surrounding trees/ plants and shelters nicely from the wind. Was a bit breezy on this day but the trees blocked it perfectly. Once you find it, you'll be glad. Friendly, great diner breakfast selections and reasonably priced. We were only a mile away and rather in a hurry due to a tee time. The meals came out quick but didn't taste hurried or heated up. They have a lite menu which is great and can customize the cooking (I wanted extra crispy fries which were perfect). I had the chicken wrap with sun dried tomatoes and it was delish! Definitely recommend and will return on our next visit. read more

Established in 2002.

CJ's Diner was originally started out of the need to have a business that a newly widowed Dad could work and be home with his three daughters after school. CJ has been in the food and beverage industry since 1976 and has worked in many different levels of bars, country clubs and restaurants. In approximately 2004 CJ met his wife, Raylene and she joined the restaurant. Over the years we have had many great employees and customers. We are a small family owned business and enjoy it that way.

We had really good mai tai's with a quesadilla first until grapefruit basil opened at five. Our server, Josie, was so welcoming and explained everything. She never tried to pressure us and she was so sweet and patient. We enjoy the cocktails and everything we ordered except maybe the clams to start. It was pretty skimpy and could use a little more flavor, but we will definitely be back because the service the atmosphere and the food was better than we thought it would be. As we left we've saw them making pizzas on the patio next time. We'll try those.

There typically not many children when we are there but when they have been they have been well mannered at very young ages and they make dining fun! Thanks for the recording in your phone not mentioning that small detail. Apparently this is your thing because I now see a review saying the same thing from 3 years ago! A notice on your website, or phone recording could go a long way. Saw some other customers drive up looking dumbfounded too.

We waited close to 25 minutes (the only drag) but once we were in the party started. The drinks were nice great and the DJ awesome! He was playing a saxophone as he pumped the crowed up. There was a big crowd full of happy people dancing and enjoying the vibe. Highly recommend but bring your patience to wait in that line.

I wanted to let some time pass, get through the holiday season and in an effort think some on how I might have made awful better. Having just moved I did not want to cook this Thanksgiving. I made reservations at "The Nest" a few weeks ahead of Thanksgiving I had read a number of reviews here on Yelp. I knew going in they had a lively bar scene with live music. We walk in exactly on time. It's so loud it's hard to speak with the hostess. (I'm a Boomer, a child of the 60's no stranger to, nor bothered by loud music) The dining area is separate from the bar so it should be no problem to be seated in a spot that allowed for dinner conversation. I asked the hostess if they did have a spot that was on the quieter side, she said no problem if we could wait a bit. Here is where things went off the rails. We were led to a table that was in a corner and directly under a speaker with the live music as loud as the bar area. Just to make it 'fun' about a 1/4 of the table against the wall had a slope of about 10 or so degrees. There was an older, thick flat screen on the wall so the person across from me kept hitting her head on it. But let's go to the important part the food. Each of us ordered the Thanksgiving Special, turkey dinner. Which was not only the worst turkey dinner I'ver even had but was the absolute worst meal I've ever been served ever, anywhere... including but not limited to fast food. I am left to assume my asking if we could be seated in a quieter spot pissed off the entire restaurant staff from hostess to kitchen staff Starting with the turkey itself, it was a small pile of shredded dark meat, two of us had shards of bone. Mashed potatoes? It was a small ice cream scoop amount (think school cafeteria service) of hard, cold instant like mix. A table spoon worth of some sort of liquid passing for 'gravy'. The rest was of equal 'quality' Two of us left the majority of the food on the plate. Oh and the pie.... Yeah about the same as the rest. I'm not even going to bother about the level of 'service,' I'll just say it was slightly better than food, cold and only indifferent. And now the part that just left us in awe of the whole thing. The section we were seated in was nearly empty by the time we were done, trying get find a member of the staff to bring us the damn check so we could just get out of there. And here comes a couple in their 20's having a domestic dispute, fortunately that calmed down and they left the area. And then here walks through the dining area a clown.... Yes you read that right a clown, in full clown makeup and outfit. An actual clown. No rhyme nor reason, just sauntering through. And as if this was normal and not at all bizarre. There is some sort of 'selfie' device in a corner. And along come two 'ladies' clearly intoxicated, to pose in front of it acting the fools only alcohol can induce and this obnoxious 'show' went on far too long. Just to add insult to injury the check finally comes with a mandatory 20% "large party" (of four?) gratuity. To be fair since it was a holiday would have left at least that amount normally. I appreciate those who work holidays, giving up family time to serve others. I've worked my share of holidays. I was ashamed and embarrassed, about the whole mess.
