Goosecup is an ideal spot to hang out for an hour or more, whether alone or with a group. I saw during my visit people from all walks/stages of life--moms with kids, girlfriends catching up, students, etc. Beautiful lattes, available with special syrups, like lavender. Their breakfast sandwiches are hefty and very tasty--I opted for spicy pork (+ $2), which also came with eggs, cheese, lettuce, and a wonderful remoulade (?). I took home half for my husband. Other perks: cleanliness, pleasant and helpful staff, and a comfortable environment. I would love to return at nighttime, when they seem to have a charcuterie and drinks thing going on, plus some special dishes. Appreciate what they did to instill some new life into a popular historic district. Lastly, the parking situation is awesome! My fiancé and I recently moved to the area and have been exploring the local restaurants/cafes and just went to Goosecup today. Whether you're looking for a morning coffee or evening cocktails, the atmosphere was welcoming - extremely open and relaxing with the perfect lighting. They have a ton of interesting options on the drink and food menu that we would like to try one day, but today we ordered a latte and their orange sunshine (which was amazing). The friendly staff was a great change of pace to our day since we've been feeling sluggish with the weather. If you're worried about COVID, I felt safe with how spaced out their seating and spacious their store was. They have the plastic barriers and contactless payment options to help with the protection of their staff and customers as well. Very rarely do I feel a need to give an establishment a bad public review but this place gets it. They've figured out how to ghost their customers after having taken an order that's been paid for. Not only did I never get served but the attitude I dealt with here was unbelievable. Came with some friends, I Had the avocado egg toast, chocolate croissant and their maple cappuccino. I ordered for my croissant to be warm but it was not served warm and tasted stale unfortunately. The avocado egg toast felt like it was missing something, there was too much avocado and not enough egg, the bread also was dry and hard to bite through. We decided to take our young granddaughters and our daughter out to the Goosecup to have fun noontime event. Upon arriving I asked if they had hi-chairs that we could move next to an adult table and was advised that they did not but there was a small child sized plastic table and 4 tiny chairs next to the front door. There was nowhere for adults to sit next to the plastic table so I took it outside to their patio area planning to return it briefly as soon as we finished our muffins and coffee/tea. However, after our 18 month old and 3 1/2 year old granddaughters settled in with smiles and laughter, "Joe" the Manager came out and told us if "we planned on being there all day" we needed to bring the table inside immediately. It was an odd statement but the tone of his directive was not kind at all and not considerate of the fact that no other children were at the establishment. (i.e., condescending). Being taken aback, after a few moments my wife went in and asked "Joe" if he wanted us to bring the plastic table in now and he said "Yes". Bear in mind, there were no other children in the facility and there was nowhere for adults to sit next to the original placement of the small table. We complied but the event was troubling to say the least. We were not asking for special treatment and we did not infringe on the rights of others or their enjoyment. This was not our first time at Goosecup but based on this event, it will be our last. I might also add that I believe this is my first review ever on Yelp but I wanted to make sure families with children were aware of the treatment we were afforded. read more

Normally, I would give this coffee spot 4 or 5 stars. Today-not so much. I came in to get a coffee and a snack. The snack of choice? An apple carrot muffin. I asked if they could cut it, warm it, and put a lil butter on it. The butter request seemed to draw immediate ire from the staff as if I'd asked them to do something so completely absurd. The response from the employees-"well, we can warm it but I'll ask the kitchen about the butter". The muffin came out, and although warm, butterless. So a place that sells baked goods, food, snacks, and charcuterie does not have ANY butter? Doubtful. Is it really about the butter? Of course not. It's about the willingness of employees to make people feel welcome and accommodated. Then the coffee came in a paper to go cup despite clear direction it was for "here". I love goosecup but I was quite upset when I found out their mocktails went from $4 to $10. That is a ridiculous jump considering you're not paying for any alcohol. At least make it reasonably priced at $6. I hope management takes this into consideration since summer is around the corner and sober folks want to enjoy a cold drink too that isn't overpriced. Folks you just gotta know somethin' is a lil bougie before you go. Once you do know that, go and have a great time! The space is very clean and comforting. I really enjoy the outdoor seating. So open and the lights are nice. A+ on ambiance. They did a great job with crafting the environment and I think the menu as well! I had a delicious London fog. It was soooo good! I also ordered an espresso which was served with some bubbly water. I thought that was nice. Now, I really enjoy this place in the evening! The bartenders definitely know what they're doing. I rarely order cocktails outside of my home because they're usually too expensive compared to the actual quality. But Goosecup makes great cocktails! And just very very friendly people who work there. One more plus is they're open late. Thank God. I don't stop wanting espresso after 5pm. Be aware, at least last time I was there, they don't really have outlets. So if you're planning on planting yourself at a coffee shop to work on a laptop, you can do their co-op thing upstairs or go somewhere else. I see people complaining about the prices. I can understand, but I do think you're getting quality service, beverages, and space. This cute, very chic little shop just opened in downtown Leesburg right next to the W&OD trail. They serve food, hand crafted cocktails, and coffee. I ordered a lavender oatmilk flat white, and while slightly pricey, it was worth every penny. The crema on top was amazing, the milk foamed to perfection. I went on opening day, so service was a little slow but only due to the large crowd. The owners were walking around and interacting with guests, asking for feedback and supporting their staff. They say they plan to open a group work space on the upper floor, which will be a unique perk in Leesburg! read more

I am obsessed with this place. I don't even want to write this review because I just want to keep this place all to myself. But alas, my loyalty to the Yelp Community compels me to spill my secrets. Goose Cup is a brand new cafe in Leesburg. It joins a growing number of cute cafes and breweries that are at last turning Leesburg from hum-drum to cute and trendy. This cafe is large and airy. It has a spacious patio and on nice days, they open the sliding doors and it becomes a full blown open air cafe. This place already has regulars (I am one of them) and there are new people everyday, so it's a nice mix. My favorite part is definitely the staff. Kyle, Danielle, and others are always nice and on top of it. This place gets BUSY. It is a lot to keep track of and they do a fabulous job whipping out food, lattes, coffee, espresso, wine, and everything in between. Trying out new coffee places is a favorite hobby of mine. I was impressed with the design and concept of Goosecup (plus I believe they roast their own coffee which is always bonus points). However, the price and execution is where they fell short. I paid $6 for an iced latte with their orange homemade syrup. I normally get my drinks half-sweet as most syrups are too sweet, but I could barely taste the syrup I had paid a $1 upcharge for. Additionally, the cup was not filled completely, the espresso itself was weak, and the overall size of the drink was disappointing for the money. While I wouldn't return at this price point given that it is more expensive than other local coffee roasters, I do respect the concept they are going for and feel like this place has a lot of potential. read more

This place is probably a little better than 3 stars but only by a little. It's a very cool setting, modern coffee shop. Great, well lit space. The people that work here are also very nice. I only have two issues with it really. Primarily the cost of everything. I get it, the cost of everything is going up but this place seems to not be in line with other coffee shops I go to. Unfortunately, the quality isn't there to charge $5+ on a muffin that tastes like it's sat out all week. Lastly, (and this is being a bit picky) but the acoustics in the shop aren't great. It's looks like most people like this little coffee/drinks/food/snack shop.... however, I find it missing on value. Why? It's extremely expensive for their offerings. Now if your goal is to meet friends and have one cocktail and a snack, you'll get out of there for $15-$25. The coffee seems appropriately priced for expensive "sit in" dining. But I went in for a hot chocolate on a cold afternoon. The seating area lacks color and art and the concrete floors do nothing to make the space inviting. Most tables have tiny stools to sit at and the tables are too small to avoid hitting your head on the light when you stand up. But my drink was embarrassing (check pics). For $5.00 I got a 6oz. Hot chocolate served in a paper cup. The hot coco was so weak it almost didn't have flavor but the flavor it had was bitter... not sweet at all. Now down the street I can get a 20oz. Delicious cup served in Latte mug with whipped cream and drizzle (check pics). I am sure a lot of people will visit and love it, but I felt the price, ambience, and and quality of product lacked what I expected. read more

Nice ambience inside plus ample seating outside are the key selling points for Goosecup. Have enjoyed the bacon egg and cheese sandwich twice, and it's very good, although expensive. I'm a tea drinker so can't comment on the coffee. Tea is brewed from loose leaf and good. One complaint is that there seems to be some kind of industrial activity happening in the buildings out back with a forklift driving past constantly. I've been to Goosecup twice and it has immediately become one of my favorite breakfast spots. There are several great coffee shops in downtown Leesburg, but what distinguishes Goosecup are the outdoor seating area, the bright and clean interior design (reminds me of San Francisco), and - wow - the breakfast sandwiches. These sandwiches are probably the best I've had in NoVA. The eggs are cooked perfectly, the sauces add just the right amount of flavor, and the ingredients are all fresh and delicious.
