Really authentic food. Everything I've had is delicious. The posole, a soup with pork and hominy is tasty. I prefer the sopes over the gorditas because they come with Mexican cheese and sour cream. I recently had the red chile chicken enchiladas and the plate was plentiful and delicious. They also have fresh squeezed juices. This place was ok. Service was good and fast. Food was out in about 5 minutes after we ordered. I ordered 2 Gorditas de fajita with a side of rice. They were ok but I can honestly say I had better. It only comes with fajita and some cheese (not melted cheese). The ones I usually eat comes with fajita, refried beans and melted cheese. The rice was good but wasn't enough. My friend ordered a menudo, she always tells me menudo is good from here. We both got our food at the same time but I finished mine first. She wasn't even half way done so I decided to order me a menudo too. You know, sometimes you look at other people's food and you want some but when you get some you're over it after a few bites (this happened to me). I'm not a big fan of menudo but this one was good. Taste like home made and it come with tortillas, lime, onion, cilantro, and jalapeño on the side. Whatever you do, don't get water unless you don't mind drinking faucet water. I start coming here several years ago and fell totally in love with the gorditas and the champurrado!! Even discovered the champurrado is made daily now a days .. which made my heart palpitate so much. But totally worth it for me. The food is really good and not overpriced which makes my wallet happy as well. If you haven't tried the seafood soup then that should be your next choice when ordering. I'm really sad that our last taste of Houston was this place. BIG REGRET. We ordered guacamole because the salsa was just not great...it never arrived. Waitress' excuse: I had other tables. Really!? It's super hard to scoop guacamole apparently. My Bistek Ranchero was edible at best. My sisters' chimichanga tasted and smelled like old gym socks - she didn't take more than 4 bites it was so bad. First time eating at this restaurant and it will be the last. Their supposedly famous for their gorditas. They were bland and the masa part was like a corn tortilla.. not impressed at all. I only ate one left the other on the plate. The Service was mediocre. We had to ask the busser to go get our ticket. The server didn't even come back to check on us if we needed anything else. When we went to the front to pay the manager just ran my card gave me my receipt to sign and left the booth. Not THANK YOU, HOW WAS YOUR FOOD. NOTHING!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE. I came here with 8 of my coworkers and luckily for us the host/waitress sat us immediately. The lunch menu had just started and we beat the steady lunch crowd flow as far as seating goes. I decided to go for a Steak Fajita Gordita since they are known for their Gorditas and an order of the Barbacoa taco. To wash it all down, I got a large agua de melon. They have an assortment of fresh aguas. Probably one of the best varieties I've seen in a long time. Our food came out quickly and all of it looked good. I wanted to try a bite out of everyone's plate, but stuck to my own. Didn't want to ward of my coworkers especially the new ones! I ate the taco and it was melt in your mouth delicious. The barbacoa was seasoned perfectly and super tender. Although after that one taco and about 2 baskets of chips, I couldn't even think about taking a bite of the gordita. So I saved it for later, which tasted great hours later. I regretted not ordering a couple more for the road! A great place for great Mexican food. We went to teotihuican just down the road but they only serve breakfast until 12:30. I needed breakfast!! So I searched, found this place and called. Breakfast served all day!! I had their Mexican sausage with eggs, chili quiles, charro beans, fresh avocado slices, flour tortillas and mango margarita. I died and then came back several times for more. Not overly salted, not greasy, charro beans were perfext, eggs n chorizo meat, perfect, chili quiles, perfect, margarita good, I didn't taste alcohol, but as I write this I'm getting sleepy and fuzzy. The tortillas were a little thick but hey, mom sometimes made them thick too, add butter! Refried beans, no salt, too blended for me but hey, that's my opinion. Queso was just that, queso. I found this place on a cold rainy sick day. Lets just say their ginormous soups can work miracles. I love coming here for the price, the food and the horchata. We always eat until we're full up to our eyes and out bill has never been more than $20. The staff is very nice, multiple servers always come check on us, and we have always had great service. The food is good here, and I regularly come to this restaurant. However, today I had a hair in my chilaquiles, and not a hair like from the head, it looked like a mustache or beard hair, gross! When I discreetly told the waiter that I no longer wanted my plate nor eat anything she went on to offer dessert and insisted. I finally gave in and asked her to bring me some cookies. We come here everytime we crave gorditas. My 1 yr old daughter eats a gordita w/ beans and cheese. My husband loves the one's with rajas, chicharron. I usually get mine w/ deshebrrada. Just recently I tried the torta de pierna, man that was sooo good. Chip and salsas are good too. I was cracking up when my daughter dipped her chip into the salsa she made a funny face, asked for agua..lol and then went for another dip. Overall great service, I love this place. This place is very, very authentic and very, very tasty. You have to come here and try their gorditas, heck it's in their name! I've had every gordita they have on offer and my favorite is the puerco en salsa roja. The shredded pork is moist and the salsa roja has the right kick of spiciness to bring tears (of joy) to my eyes. Finally got to try this place...glad to have found parking as it wasn't too terribly busy. Service was excellent, everyone was very nice and anxious to take care of us by bringing drinks and taking our order quickly. We ordered a few different items so we could try things...excellent sope de shredded beef, won't go wrong ordering that and its' very filling so keep that in mind. Ordered a shredded chicken tostada, very tasty too, lots of chicken on it, almost too much but I ate it! then we ordered frijoles Charros - a must have! And we ordered a nopales gordita - YUMMY-LIOUS!!
