I love this place! Their menu prices have never changed. I will say family has better service!! And the ambiance it's giving 2010's Mexican restaurant either way I recommend the molcajete!

We could've walked here, but it was raining so we drove. There was plenty of parking at 8AM in the morning. We were attended promptly. Their large organs juices are LARGE and they are freshly squeezed. I highly recommend the orange juice. I always go wash my hades before I eat and they had no soap or paper towels. You would think someone would check this before they opened. But I made sure to inform the waitresses since a few of them were just standing around. There was no sugar on the table but the owner saw I got up to look for sole (and there was none in any tables) and she asked me if I was looking for sugar. She brought it promptly. The coffee this time was watered down. It didn't taste like coffee. I asked for another cup. The new coffee was better for sure. I had to ask them to make it a go go order and they were able to accommodate my needs. The food was good. I liked the chilaquiles and the beans. Everything I wanted was in the box or in the bag. Food was yummy but there were of inconveniences. The wiener was very attentive however.

Thursday taquito special ...so good and will fill you up!

I wasn't too impressed the first time, and this visit certainly confirmed my initial thoughts. For La Lucha's Happy Hour, you get a choice between 2 types of oysters ($1.50 each). These were great - do this on a weekday before 6pm and you should be able to grab a table without a reservation. Barely even after we started eating the oysters, the waitress was already asking if we wanted to order more, instead of allowing us to just enjoy our food without interruptions. The menus they gave at our table were inconsistent and had different menu items. I had to ask for clarification if the redfish was on the menu since it wasn't on two of the three menus given to us. So, quality control was a miss. Rest of the menu... is limited. Everything was so greasy, from the fried chicken, the redfish, and shrimp tacos. * Red fish with pecans - 6/10. The fish did not taste like it was seasoned with salt. It was well cooked, not dry at all, but it lacked any sort of seasoning aside from the butter and pecans on top. * Shrimp Tacos - 4/10. I think I prefer Taco Bell over this one. The shell was greasy, not crisp (felt like it was stale), and I was confused with the combination of American Cheese and shrimp. They also added hot sauce or spicy salsa in the tacos - so a warning if you can't handle spice (not mentioned on the menu). * Half Fried Chicken - 5/10. The chicken was moist. Been here once before and it was quite dry, so I'm glad this was cooked well. You get 2 thighs, a wing, and a drumstick (4pc). Again, there was a lack of any seasoning on the chicken itself & the exterior. Sadly, the sauce that we picked was not the best either - oyster mayo. It would've been nice to try the others, but the half order came with one sauce. The seasonal jam that was available was the peach jam. It went well with the biscuits (half order comes with 2 biscuits, any extra is $1.50). For my people who get cold in restaurants, I would recommend bringing a light jacket since they turn the A/C up.

We started by sharing a couple of appetizers - the smoked redfish dip and the biscuits. I'm weird about smells and aftertastes - and was hesitant to try the smoked redfish dip. The dip was flavorful and very smoky - the crackers it is served with were amazing. The aftertaste was tolerable, but a little fishy for me. The biscuits - I could write poems about them. I'd go back to eat baskets of just those biscuits. Highly recommend. My husband ordered the fried catfish platter - it was amazing. The catfish nuggets were crunchy and HOT (temperature), the fries were perfectly seasoned and the hush puppy was a crunch heard around the globe. Sadly, the shrimp and grits arrived to the table at room temp. The flavor was really good, but I was worried to mention the temp issue and have the kitchen nuke them in the microwave. The red beans and rice were similarly room temp and congealed. The restaurant atmosphere was lovely, the service was solid, and on a Tuesday evening we could have walked in and been seated quickly. Overall, it was a nice evening with our friends. Sometimes the company makes up for small disappointments.

The front hostess, Annabella, was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making us feel valued from the start. Our waiter was equally amazing and attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring we had a wonderful evening. We started with the deviled eggs and crab beignets, both of which were absolutely delicious. Their French onion soup was hearty. Drinks were fabulous too. For our meal, we ordered the mashed potatoes, cacio e pepe, pork schnitzel, blackened fish, miso fish, and burger, and every dish was perfectly prepared and packed with flavor. The restaurant went above and beyond by surprising my mother-in-law with a birthday dessert (upon my request when I had originally booked it), which was such a thoughtful touch and made the celebration even more memorable. We also enjoyed the pecan ball and chocolate soufflé, and both were outstanding. Between the incredible food, impeccable service, and special attention to our celebration, State of Grace exceeded all expectations. Annabella, our waiter, and the entire staff made the evening feel truly special. Easily one of the best dining experiences we've had in Houston, and we can't wait to return! I will be planning a girls night there soon!

Well, Pappadeaux's (as it's commonly known) in Houston was surprisingly amazing. I was in the area for a convention and this was as convenient as it gets. The staff was welcoming and friendly and we had a view into the open kitchen. We started off with a Large Garlic Bread and 6 Chargrilled Oysters and honestly, we should have gotten a dozen. They were pretty good and a great way to start the meal. And is Garlic Bread the perfect food? Just sayin' The dinner itself was also really good. I had the Grouper with Shrimp and Lump Crab and it was amazing. Nice piece of fish, shrimp cooked perfectly, and a few pieces of jumbo crab sprinkled in. I've been to this chain before but this version was just better to me for some reason. I'd go here even if I wasn't at a convention.

Once we were seated upstairs, we waited about 10 minutes just to get menus -- my husband ended up pulling them up on his phone. When the server finally came by, we were already hungry and thirsty. He seemed very busy, so we quickly put in our drink order, but only half the drinks came out. I ordered a cocktail that never arrived initially, and my husband's Diet Coke was completely flat. The replacement was flat too, which makes me think the soda lines upstairs probably need attention. At that point we just focused on getting the kids' meals ordered. As the food started coming out, I noticed the kids weren't eating their shrimp and fries. After tasting the fries myself, it was obvious the fryer oil needed to be changed. I also asked for the restaurant's famous bread, only to be told this location didn't have any. My husband eventually just ordered a tea instead. The catfish my husband's friend ordered was not good at all, and while my dinner was okay, it definitely wasn't worth the price. The server dropped the check before even asking about dessert, and when we did decide we wanted dessert, it took another 15-20 minutes. To top it off, there wasn't even a bag provided for my to-go food, so I had to carry it the entire 3 blocks back. Overall, we were really not impressed and honestly can't believe we spent that much money for an experience where almost nobody enjoyed their meal
