Gorrono ranch is such a fun place to stop and take a break while skiing! It is easy to get to (greens or blues) and has a great atmosphere. We went both days and had a burger, baked potato, brisket sandwich and chicken fingers. The food was like typical bar food, just what you would expect. We also had some delicious drinks- the skinny marg was my favorite as well as the aperol spritz! I would highly recommend going here on a day where you could sit outside. They had live music as well. The inside is not as exciting and gets super crowded on a really cold day, so not quite as fun. Overall perfect place for a quick bite and drink while on the slopes. read more

Absolutely amazing spot for apres before you even finish skiing for the day. The service is incredible being able to order from their digital menu and it showing at your table in less than 10 minutes. Vince the bartender makes sure that not only your drinks are fabulous but really welcomes you to the resort and Gorrono. Also pretty great deal to get an $8 beer right on the mountain. Also while you're relaxing, you can get your ski/board waxed or edges sharpened for $20. This is a must stop place if you're skiing Telly and also the merch is AWESOME!! Great spot to ski in, grab a bite or drink, and ski out. Gorrono Ranch is located under Village Express Lift 4 on the Misty Maiden run at Telluride Ski Resort. I like stopping here because they have a fire pit outside with an outdoor bar. They usually always have a live musician on hand jamming out to some great tunes. Food includes burgers, chili, BBQ, and snacks. I've attended a couple catered buffets outside with some of the ski clubs I go up with. They will roll up some outdoor grills for it. The pulled pork sandwich is my favorite. Telluride Brewing Co. will at times set up for some free beer tastings which I have no problem making some time for. Gorrono Ranch is named after the family that built this place. It is known as a "snow beach" because of all the colorful lawn chairs you can sit and relax on. You get great views of Mount Wilson right from your chair (the inspiration for the Coors mountain logo on their cans). If you are on your skis an need to make a quick pit stop, this mid-mountain ranch is a good place to stop by. They are available to rent out for private events like weddings in the off-season. read more

The vibe is the best! The prices not so much. It has all changed post covid as many places have had to adjust. You can ONLY order with a table number and a QR code which can be an issue as big groups gather up all the chairs - understandable, and that leaves no tables with numbers to order food. We had to hover over table #3 to wait on someone to bring out food. We still stop there on the regular, but the prices are insane. $9 for some French fries - which are excellent, but pricey. $8 for a can of beer. I think a lot of the price increase is because they removed the self service. Go for the vibe and the chili, but beware it will cost you some $$$$ read more

Gorrono's is a pretty good stop for lunch at telluride. The food is good but if you're wanting a healthier meal maybe don't stop here. The online paying can be annoying when it's busy. You can only pay with card when using the QR code. The settings is such a vibe and in a cold day you can warm up by sitting next to the fire. How much fun is it to enjoy food and drink at a watering hole at in the middle of a ski run?! We enjoyed a BBQ sandwich and chili. It was delicious. The ordering is online so it is easy and fast. I think we had our food delivered to our seats in about 10 mins. Prices are high, but I figure for great food in that location, it was worth it. Sure, it was super crowded (11:30a when we arrived) but we just looked around to see who was close to done and asked if they were leaving. Setting: TBH I've been here plenty of times, MOSTLY between 11 am - 4 pm (I definitely have shown up before that) with party sizes from 2 to 20, always outdoor seating Vibe: the coolest vibe on the mountain for sure. It's definitely not upscale at all especially when compared to other spots on the hill, it's very low key and very fun. There is live music almost everyday from noon til closing, there are beach chairs in stadium fashion with a few levels. Sunday's have beer tasting between noon and 2. The crowd is mostly young adults but there are families eating inside as it's the cheapest and largest spot for food on the hill. Food: Amazing, lots of diff options, if you're looking for a unique experience get the Mac and cheese burger and delight in the cooks screaming MAACCCC DADDDDYYYYY after you order it. Once was a cafeteria style destination resturant on the mountain only reachable by skiing where they actually made food and you could stop in and eat quickly in a cool eclectic environment, grand a drink and sit and listen to music. TODAY, it is a minimum 75 minute ordeal, you order on line, but the WI-Fi rarely connects, you have to wait 60 minute for your food which arrives COLD and SOGGY, by a surly server who could careless while demanding a big tip on line. The foods is simply BAD. The service is WORST. The atmosphere is gone. They sell store process junk, and probably micro wave everything for all you know, but there is zero taste and even kids no longer want to go there. One star is generous, oh, and then they double our order and charged us for sets of meals, so we stopped payment on the extra order that arrived just as we finished eating what we could before heading back out on the slopes. Stopped by for lunch at Gorrono Ranch around 1pm on a Sunday. We just missed the rush because as we were leaving the line was insane! We ordered the smoked turkey bacon ranch sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich. Both were enormous and packed with meat!! They definitely didn't skimp you. Typical prices for a resort out west. ~$30 for two sandwiches. It was a relatively warm day in March so we decided to eat on the benches outside on the patio. This place is great to stop at for lunch after a long day of skiing. The smoke house is okay now, but it used to be incredible. It isn't as good anymore because they changed the rotisserie chicken (which doesn't have as good of flavor as it did). Also they used to to have amazing alligator ribs. We loved eating our grilled ham and cheese sandwiches on the deck while enjoying the magnificent view, watching the skiers go by and listening to an acoustic guitarist/singer. This is a ski in, ski out restaurant. Get on lift 4 to top of mtn and ski down Village Bypass. Has an outdoor smoke house that wasn't open when I ate there. Outdoor seating area with picnic tables. Also an outdoor fire pit with lounge chairs. Indoor seating is plenty spacious. Totally a great place to hang out. The only problem I can see is if you are a total non-skiier, I'm not sure how you would get to the restaurant. With just excellent views of the mtns and a captive audience, who cares about the quality of the food?! Yes, all items were expectantly overpriced but surprisingly, the quality of the pulled pork sandwich with a side of cole slaw was delicious. In my experience with ski in ski out restaurants, I've learned to expect WAY overpriced, marginal food. What you get at Gorrono Ranch is relatively expensive but DELICIOUS food. I guess that's sort of an overgeneralization, seeing that I got the pulled pork sandwich every day. Even after eating some of the best BBQ of my life the previous week at Union Woodshop in Detroit, I was blown away at this pulled pork--tender and juicy, with some awesome BBQ sauce (with a little kick). Throw on a little coleslaw and you have yourself a perfect sandwich. Oh, and throw in the incredible mountain views that surround you, and I'd say you've got yourself a pretty decent lunch spot. A few notes: --the pulled pork sandwich is only $8.99--by far the best deal I found on the mountain (unless you are in the mood for a $16 Kobe beef sandwich or a $10 burger). --You are better off getting your pulled pork sandwich from the smokehouse, not the main dining portion of the restaurant. read more

Great on mountain place foe lunch. The prices are a little higher than in town but the spot is great. The best deal in the place is the noodle bar. A big steaming bowl of food (chicken, shrimp, pork or Tofu with all kinds of veggies to add in with with either Penne, zucchini or Ramen noodles) that was delicious and salty. Had it 4 days in a row. They can only cook three bowls at a time so be patient. The brisket was also really good. They also have live music outside that you can enjoy on nice weather days. What better way for me to spend a frigid Sunday afternoon in Atlanta, than writing about a ski resort lunch hot spot? So, I'll start by saying I love Telluride, CO in general - favorite ski town hands down. But that being said, Gorrono is really a notch above most cafeterias available to skiers and boarders on / near the mountain. As the other Yelpers mention, it's normally overpriced, mediocre food at best because you're at the mercy of convenience. Gorrono gives you something a step well above that. It's a large, welcoming log cabin respite in the middle of Telluride's main mountain. Granted, it's been a few years since my last spring break ski week there, but I still remember many trips there fondly. It's an easy spot to reach even for the most novice skiers and boarders. There are double green runs like Village Bypass up to double blues like Humboldt Fog that all feed directly past Gorrono as you head for the Mountain Village and Lift 4. This ski in, ski out spot offers not only indoor dining with a large, roaring fireplace ready to warm you up and dry out your soaked neck gators or gloves, but there's a second floor of more seating for the overflow. Outdoors there's a multi-tiered deck with picnic tables and more tables and chairs made of tree stumps for nice weather, a fire pit, PLUS a slew of lawn chairs planted firmly in the snow near the detached Saloon for spring skiers to take a load off and catch some rays on those glorious "spring skiing" days. And the most impressive part of Gorrono, to me, is the food. Yes, it's going to be more expensive, but that's to be expected - it's a ski resort after all. At least, the food you're ponying up your paycheck for is good. And the options are plentiful - there's a smoke house cooking up fresh barbecue daily, rotating vegetarian and vegan options, multiple soups and chilis to warm your bones, the quintessential burgers, fries and hot dogs and more exotic stuff like grilled tilapia sandwiches and decent salads. I know!! Awesome! So not only do you get good food, a comfortable place to hang out (so comfortable it's sometimes nearly impossible to find a spot to sit once you've gotten food - I recommend assigning one person the task of saving a table for a group if possible), but you've also got the prettiest view ever for your backdrop. Imagine sprawling mountain ranges (on the clearest of days, you can see the mountains in Utah from the top), views of the expensive (yet very quaint looking) log cabin homes on the sides of the hills and the towering hotels of Mountain Village to eat your chicken fingers to. Perfection. Gorrono also serves as a perfect place to hide when the weather is nasty. I can't tell you how many times I've taken refuge when the wind is blowing a snow storm has blown onto the mountain. Warming my fingers and fortifying myself with a cup of hot chocolate always gives me the strength to venture back out and usually download to town for the rest of the day. :) read more

The ambience is an old ranch with multiple structures- a cafeteria, BBQ pit and bar. We went there multiple times during our 4 ski days in Telluride.
