I had a bunch of small issues with a triplex I recently purchased: A light switch worked inconsistently, a GFCI outlet worked inconsistently, a light in my hallways glowed slightly at night, etc. Hector troubleshot and fixed each problem quickly and efficiently. Turns out a lot of things were wired backwards or incorrectly. The hallway light that glowed at night actually revealed an incorrectly wired grounding-wire. Finding this was not easy. Service happened awhile ago. I don't want to get into details but I was charged more than I was quoted because the tech had to stay longer than expected to fix a problem that the tech caused. Tech was nice and all, I just felt like I shouldn't have to pay for their mistake. We recently had issues with burned out wiring in a few of our kitchen outlets. I called a couple of companies and most were booked well in advance, however luckily I ran across Got Light. They were able to schedule me the day of the problem and showed up on time as expected. The technician Hector arrived, did a quick inspection and was able to identify the issue right away. He was clear and concise and did not try to oversell any additional services or materials. He was able to fix the wiring on 3 outlets within an hour, and that includes a trip to the local Home Depot to pick up materials. He was quiet and did an excellent job, he even cleaned up after himself. On top of it all, the charges were about 1/2 what I had been quoted at another place. The estimates we received from Hector was not the lowest, however, it was very competitive, reasonable, and the best detailed quotes, including patching which most wouldn't even want to touch. We also chose Hector because his Yelp reviews were most recent. I liked his crew even more. Very down to earth, harding working, professional, courteous, patient, and all around smiles when you're throwing fits on a stressful day. Their clean up afterwards makes it look like no one was ever here. He must be treating them well, including his apprentice. Had Hector and his crew put in recessed lighting in the bedrooms, as well as installing ceiling fan junctions (and the ceiling fans themselves). I couldn't be happier with the outcome. His guys were on time, polite, and extremely professional and hard-working. No shortcuts were taken. They even wore booties inside the house since this was a "no-shoes inside" establishment. A very pleasant experience from requesting a quote to completion of the electrical work! I requested a quote through Yelp and got a quick response with a very reasonable rate. Oscar arrived early and diagnosed my electrical issues and explained my options. Had a couple of outlets worked on and he added a couple of smart dimmer switches for lights for me to control with my smartphone. He was meticulous and finished the work in a reasonable time frame. He also went to my other property to diagnose an electrical issue and gave me his assessment which helped me make an informed decision. Hector from Got Light Electric in Torrance responded promptly to my call to install 2 new ceiling boxes from which I intend to hang pendant lamps at a later date. He arrived on time, clean and with the tools and supplies necessary to do the work. He progressed quickly and efficiently with no unnecessary holes or mess. (The painters were also on site wanting to mask that room for a new coat of color so having the work proceed smoothly was important.) As far as demeanor and decorum, there was no music or unnecessary noise or goofing around. I would feel comfortable having Hector work in my mother's home if that is an indication of comfort. THE PROECT: With no attic space overhead all work was done from a ladder. The Romex was in the ceiling somewhere but the drywall covered up the loose tail -- no box had been installed when the house was built. So the job grew to installing 3 boxes on fan hangars. And since LED is taking over as the price comes down he changed a Lutron rocker-style switch to a slide dimmer that is rated for incandescents, fluorescents and LEDs. He also changed another dimmer so I would be able to make the switch to LEDs seamlessly. IN CONCLUSION: The price I felt was fair and reasonable. I expect to call Got Light Electric when switching over to LEDs for all the recessed ceiling fixtures -- I feel that comfortable. read more

Our newly installed LED ceiling light started making some noise and sometimes will turn off by itself. We requested the lighting company to send a new one and they did. The owner gave me an estimate on the phone after he patiently heard my lighting problem and had scheduled a time for the repair. Unexpectedly, Alex came earlier than the scheduled time and he immediately worked on our light. He put a plastic cover on our hardwood floor to protect our floor before he started to work. He not only reinstalled our light in a very short time he also repaired our broken switch as we mentioned to him. Our light came back without any noise.
