Very little chicken, lots of red onions and sauce. flavorless, unappealing and cheap sandwich with barely any chicken for $17!
    Dave G.

I really used to like this place and came frequently. They must have new owners, new staff that make the food or they've just become extremely cheap. Came in the other day for a Cajun chicken sandwich on a ciabatta bun. What an absolute joke! There was barely anything on the sandwich and what was there was mostly vegetables. Literally had a few bits of chicken and then a bunch of peppers and onions. The Cajun sauce had no Cajun flavor and no spice, so it was pretty much tasteless! Every bite for the most part was bread, Some red or green pepper and flavorless sauce. If you're gonna charge $17 for a sandwich... Give a reasonable sized sandwich! You can tell from the ratings this place has gone downhill so I would highly suggest going elsewhere!

I tried the iced caramel macchiato, which was delicious and reasonably priced at just $7. The place is well-equipped with plenty of charging ports and comfortable seating, making it an ideal spot for studying or working. The Wi-Fi is a huge plus, and the overall atmosphere is both quiet and conducive to productivity. The service is great !

staff is pretty helpful and walked me through the menu. The food itself was pretty mediocre and a little bit on the pricey side. There's a lot of people studying inside. typical café vibes

Turkey Bacon Egg & Cheese on a bagel, French Toast, Medium Iced Vanilla Latte
    Caitlin C.

I've been walking by this place for months and finally decided to stop in for breakfast. Overall, it wasn't great but not bad. I got a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel - they only had turkey bacon so I had to get that even though I prefer pork bacon. We also got the french toast which was good but nothing special. The fruit on the side tasted like it was a little old. Food was definitely overpriced - we paid $35 for a drink, a sandwich, and a breakfast item. But, I liked my iced vanilla latte a lot. I got a medium and I think it was a good value for the price. When we ordered at the counter, we both felt like the girl had a bit of an attitude and seemed annoyed that we took a few minutes to look at the menu and were asking questions about the food. Overall, it's okay if you're passing by or in the area. I'll be back for the coffee but probably not the food.

Happened to bump into this cafe on a rainy day when I was craving a hot soup and an iced tea- which were excellent btw. However, I am knocking off one star because the place looked very dirty. Tables had crumbs on it, and the floor had a lot of trash on it and a bunch of flies inside that u kept having to seat away. Other than that, service was great- they brought my soup to me, and the food was tasty and I loved how I could people watch through the windows. Very old school, New York feel. I'll definitely return when I am looking for some comfy food or a nice drink to sip on.

The chai latte with oat milk was very good and I would highly recommend it. The service was quick and the servers were nice. I had the bacon egg and cheese with turkey bacon, it was a lackluster sandwich in comparison to other BEC that I have had. It was okay but left me unsatisfied. The ambiance is casual for those relaxing and also people working from the shop.

I walk by here all the time and wanted to check it out! There are some tables and a decent amount of seating and they have wifi. It felt very cozy inside and a good place to do work. I got a large Peppermint Mocha ($6.80), which was honestly not that good. Service wasn't anything special, no warm smiles or small talk. I would maybe come back to sit and catch up with a friend, given the ample amount of seating/space.

the cafe had enough outlets and wifi for studying. its nice, calm, and quiet, but felt a little rushed. muffin tastes great!

    Medium cappuccino and croissant
    Evan N.

This place wasn't awful but it wasn't great either. The vibes when you walk in were kinda strange to me and the croissant was stale but had okay flavor. The cappuccino itself was way too big. A medium cappuccino should not be a thing, I think it should always be one size. This place feels like a place you would only come to because it's right by your house. I didn't hate it I didn't love it, wouldn't come back though.

I went here to take out a coffee! It is a small establishment that has good food and good coffee! The employees were very friendly and helpful! Everyone was sitting and having their food, except that there was a homeless person in the corner! It is rampant all over the city- so sad. People were trying to help her so that was positive.

Gotham Cafe is cozy local cafe not only to grab a bite to eat, but also get some work done without too much noise. My favorite place to sit is near the window where there is an outlet nearby. It's cool how you can either take your food to go, or you can have it delivered to your table with your number. A quasi takeout/sitdown place further contributes to the relaxed atmosphere, which initially attracted me to the cafe. I usually get an iced coffee with oatmilk and an egg salad sandwhich. While the food is good, it can be a bit pricey! Overall, Gotham Cafe is a neighborhood favorite and I'm looking forward to coming here more in the future. :)

Poppyseed Bagel With The Tofu Vegan Cream Cheese
    Steve A.

Another place to get bagels. Gotham Cafe is a pretty crowded cafe. It has a typical look. Customers order at the counter and pay before they eat. The place needs some work. Bagels are the main thing here. It has a pretty large menu. The menu is pretty typical. It's about $5 for a bagel and a spread. They have a pretty large variety. A few other menu items include sandwiches, if you don't want a bagel. The last time here I came with my smoking hot friend. I had a poppyseed bagel with the tofu vegan cream cheese. She had a sesame bagel with the same spread on it. The bagels were okay but they were kind of stale. I might decide to come back. It didn't really impress us at all. The restroom always is out of order which is the most annoying thing.

Most Asian…read morerestaurants in this neighborhood are fancy sit-downs, so it was exciting to see a quick, casual stop for Asian "finger food" (for a lack of better word) within my vicinity. Joju specializes in modern Vietnamese cuisine, serving meals like bahn mi, loaded fries, and rice meals. The menu recently added soy garlic wings, and since I am a fiend for Asian-style fried chicken, I of course had to have it. While all of the beverages looked tempting, especially their non-alcoholic soju refreshers, I needed caffeine to offset the afternoon slump that was about to follow, so I ordered a Vietnamese coffee. The wings were huge! It was notably crunchy, saucy, and juicy. There was a decent skin to meat ratio, (I so hate biting into a mouthful of breading), and the meal came out piping hot. It was clear the chicken had been fried per order. Those who know me know that I can't live without rice and would eat it with almost any meal, including fried chicken, so I did request it on the side, although the wings don't come with it. The man who took my order did me a solid and served it with mine, anyway. Good lad! I've been wanting to try Vietnamese coffee for a while now, and it was everything I imagined it would be. Sweet with a bitter backend - but not too bitter! I'm still new to coffee, and I pucker up at anything too intense. This was just right. My meal at Joju satisfied me, mind, body, and soul. I hope it is here to stay, and I hope that a shop like this is a catalyst for other quick Asian food stops to follow. Korean and Filipino restaurants - I'll be waiting!

The short rib itself was also overcooked, leaving the meat a bit tough and rough. On the bright side, I ordered an extra side of brisket and enjoyed that much more than the short rib. The broth overall lacked a deep, rich beef flavor. Saigon Shaking Beef (4.25/5): The standout dish of the night. There are a few locations, but I decided to visit this one because it was the most convenient for getting to and from home. I got there around 7:00 PM, which felt a little close to closing time since Google said they close at 9:00 PM, but it wasn't busy at all. In fact, I was only the third customer to place an order. I ordered the La Summer sandwich and added pesto. After sitting down and taking my first bite, I immediately understood the hype. Without a doubt, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm not even a huge sandwich person when it comes to subs and deli meats, but everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ingredients paired together perfectly, and you could still taste each one individually. The only thing I'd change next time is the meat. I had no idea prosciutto was a type of ham, but honestly, it didn't even taste like ham to me. It was sliced paper-thin, slightly salty, and worked surprisingly well with everything else. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. Overall, this sandwich was a solid 10/10, and I will absolutely be back--whether it's to try a different sandwich or, if we're being honest, order the exact same one again with salami added. I will say it's on the expensive side, but that's New York City for you. Apparently, all of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. After tax and tip, I paid a whopping $28 for a single sandwich. That said, it was incredibly filling and definitely kept me satisfied. The workers were also really nice and accommodating, and the indoor seating was beautiful. The atmosphere felt like a fancy Italian café, complete with couches and artwork throughout the space.
