Came on a Tuesday afternoon with a friend (only about 6 tables being used) and another time alone on a Thursday afternoon (crowded; only 1 table available). There's about 12 billiard tables and one ping pong table. $5.50 per person per hour. However, to use card, you need to spend $10 min. Otherwise, you need to pay in cash. The guy was super nice about it tho, when I had only stayed for an hour and the bill came out to be $6. Would 100% recommend and come again :) read more

Really chilled atmosphere, nice tables, and you get some drinks, beers, and light food. Prices are very good too, so in general this is a great place to hang out and play some pool. My friend is a long time customer of Gotham City Billiards and he brought me here on Wednesday since I wanted to play pool. GC does a good job with covid precautions with checking temperatures, having us spaced out, and cleaning billiard materials. The women's bathroom was to my surprise, quite clean and both the soap and towel dispenser are automatic. I'm most satisfied with their prices - it's the best I've encountered in NYC. read more

Last time I was here was back in 2013 so as you can see I came here 7 years later and it brought back very good old memories. The place is very well maintained, masks are required to worn at all times except when eating and drinking. It was the five of us so we played 8 games for two hours and they charged us 45 for everything (the games and snacks). However my only complain is that they downgraded their menu as the snacks were not that good especially the French fries and mozzarella sticks and even the hand sanitizer was cheap quality since it was sticky and smelly. Other than that if you want to play and enjoy this is the place to be. Come here with your friends and loved ones and enjoy quality billiards. We didn't try the ping pong game bcoz that was $16 per person but if you into that they go ahead and indulge in that. Highly Recommend this place. read more

I was here with my girlfriend a few weeks ago and I wanted to write and say how awesome and above and beyond the staff here is. I have trouble standing for long periods of time and one of the stools and chairs they have are comfortable for me. They are either too narrow or too tall. I asked the clerk who was running things and though he doubted they had anything he took the time to roam around and find me a folding chair I could use so I could rest between shots. He could have just told me to use what was available like everyone else but he went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable. He also brought all the items of food we ordered to where we were playing so we didn't have to chase it down at the register. To the guy working that night I want to say thanks again, you're awesome. We will certainly be coming back again one day. The only reason I can't give this review 5 stars is because the seats and stools are so uncomfortable in the first place. They are not designed for fat or handicapped people. The stools are really tall bar stools where your feet have to hang off the ground, and the chairs that are normal and lower to the ground are hard and solid with really narrow armrests. I hope the owner reads this and considers adding some more comfortable seating or at least putting aside a few more folding chairs so the clerk working is not put into the same position. read more

Came here for couples pool night The place is pretty laid back and spacious Its inexpensive and convenient for a quick game of pool. There's street parking after 7pm. The great thing about this billar is that it's not pretentious, you are left alone to do as you please. This is definitely a plus for sure. The owner does have snacks, nonalcoholic beverages and beers available for purchase. When I first walked in, I thought it was too quiet for a Saturday night. The owner mentioned that there was a juke box which is cool but I think there should be music playing for free. Music helps set the vibe especially on the weekend. GCBC is a nice neighborhood pool hall. From what I remember, I believe they have 14 regulation size tables, 2 bar size tables and 1 ping pong table. Tables seem to be in good condition, place is fairly clean, prices are very reasonable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I would give GCBC a 4 star rating but deducted 1 star for the food. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and when it was brought over to my table, it was basically a hot dog bun with some slices of beef and a slice of cheese. Granted it only cost $4, but this sandwich should have been on the kids menu. I'm not sure how the rest of the food is but if it's anything like the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, you're better off eating somewhere else before or after you play pool as they don't allow outside food or drinks. But if you just want a quick snack I guess it's okay. read more

What a great find in Gravesend!! A few things to note... I am nowhere near a good pool player. I have been given pointers by third graders in the past BUT it foesn't matter how good, or bad, you are at Gotham. It's a large space and the prices are CRAZY reasonable! I was there with my sister and her boyfriend for about 2 hours and it only cost us about $20...and that was WITH a soda! We were playing beside obvious pros and fellow amateurs like us and everyone was having fun. You definitely get an eclectic group here. Everyone from retirees, college kids, a couple of dads with their sons, to teenagers were all there. The tables are large and well kept with enough space that you aren't right up under the strangers also having fun around you. I can't speak for the food, but I really had a great time at Gotham and will definitely return! read more

I've been playing billiards here since the age of 15, it's really nice to go back to this place with a group of old friends for nostalgic reason. I live really close-by here, and I really enjoy going here compare to any other billiards place. I remember when I was younger, my friends and I tried our best to prove to the manager that we deserve to be placed a smaller number table. (They put kids in the back #16 table) I play at #9 now, that's like a promotion (: The food they serve is fairly inexpensive, the pool sticks that they offer are not bad and the pool table are 'real' (meaning it's not something you can buy for 60 dollars) It's very vintage-like feeing and management is awesome, the old people that frequently go and play there are nice too. They can get a little bit intimidating since they're extremely good at pool. We just look like rascals 'trying to show off' ;) Must go, L&Bs is near-by so let's hit up some Pizza afterwards! read more

I have recently upgraded this to a five star rating, as they now serve beer and have renovated the room to make it look absolutely beautiful. $21 for 2 hours (10PM - 12AM). Gotham you just won yourself my heart, mind and soul. It's cheap and pretty clean. The cues are alright. I played with a crooked stick (after my friend complained and we switched) and I still got shots in fine. The problem is not with the sticks, but how you use it love. Strange felt color though. Now I'd seen blue before, but I prefer green. But that's just me. The staff is nice, looks a little intimidating at first, but are softies at heart. I lost a beanie (not sure it was here or the restaurant I went to right afterwards.....) and they were really accommodating. I'd be back as this is a nice, quiet place to really play pool. A bit out of the way, but hey if someone good were to challenge me (hint hint) I'd make the trip. read more

When you spend more money on the jukebox than billiards, you have a problem. Now, the reasons are quite simple actually: (1) the billiard table rentals are pretty damn cheap and (2) I need loud 90s alternative rock to set the mood. And on a good night split between a few friends, I normally walk away with spending under $20. Aside from the great prices, and having the option to play your favorite tunes, there are 12+ billiard tables and a large selection of cue sticks to choose from. There are plenty of TVs dispersed throughout, so on a sports night there's plenty of action to check out. My only complaint is that they don't serve beer, but that's not really a big deal at all. read more

The best pool hall in New york. I've been to dozens of p.halls but non come close to how great the tables shoot here. No other place cleans the cloth asa as the last customer leaves it. I was a horrible pool player till I joined their amateur tournaments and was instructed by the seasoned elders. And now I can hold my weight with the sharp shooters. BTW Join us on Monday nights for the 8 ball weekly event. Its only $20. Come in and compete, hell if you don't win a few hundred dollars at least you will improve your game. read more

This was a nice, fun place to go on an easy date. The staff was friendly, and the room didn't have any noticeable distractions, so we were able to have a conversation, which was nice too. It's not in the greatest of locations, so you'll have to do some driving to and from anywhere else you'd want to go. Great place to play pool. Usually packed Thursday through Saturday, but pool tables are spaced out enough to make a comfortable atmosphere. Prices are really cheap, especially if you're with a group (self explanatory I know). I waited 45 minutes for chicken tenders, so the food service could be better. Putting that aside, and focusing on the actual billiard hall itself, I would say it's worth a check out if your looking for some quick plans with your friends. I'm from upstate n.y. this room is the best for both recreational & serious players. 1) The tables are Diamonds that says enough 2) The rates are geared for serious players that need to practice w/o going broke. 3) The other rooms in the nyc area are overpriced & should be diso's 4) I play on 3 tours the Joss, Predator, & Tri State so I've seen a lot of rooms this 1 is real. 5) on top of all that there food menu is more than sufficient & priced again with the player in mind.
