DO NOT BOARD YOUR PET HERE. UNTREATED INJURIES AND MEDICAL NEGLECT…read more I boarded my dog, Bugsy, at Brooklyn Unleashed for 10 days (April 8-20). I returned to find him in a horrific state: multiple bite wounds and punctures on his ears and muzzle, and a severe, painful UTI that was left completely untreated. The most disturbing part is the medical evidence. I took him to the vet immediately, and the clinical report confirmed that the lacerations were in an active healing stage and already over 48 hours old at the time of pickup. This means the owner, Andrey Tevlin, and his staff watched my dog suffer with visible head injuries and a painful infection for days and NEVER NOTIFIED ME, despite their contract stating they would contact owners for medical situations. My dog is now straining to urinate and requires over $2,800 in emergency medical care and X-rays because they failed to provide basic supervision or the "Duty of Care" they were paid for. Andrey has gone silent and refused to take responsibility for the neglect that happened under his watch. I have already filed formal reports with the NYC Department of Health, the ASPCA, and am pursuing legal action in Small Claims Court. Save yourself the heartbreak and your pet the pain--go anywhere else. This facility is unsafe, and the management is completely unresponsive to animal emergencies

I was greeted by a nice tall young man who told me nobody was allowed in. He just showed me the place through a glass window, but we couldn't see much of the place at all. This made me uncomfortable, as I wanted to see where my precious dog will be playing. However, I was still willing to give it a try. He told me to come on Friday, and said 4:00 would be fine for a Temperament Test. He said to bring proof from the vet of all the vaccinations. My dog studied hard for the next few days LOL and we arrived at 4 with all the veterinarian papers. I was greeted by the VERY NASTY OWNER NAMED ANDRÉ!!! The way he greeted me was the biggest red flag, as this made me wonder if everyone acts like him in this place and why would I want to leave my precious Hope with a person like this. He also told me the vet papers were not good enough, told me my appointment was for 2:00 (but it wasn't), and looked at my pup with such suspicion as if she was going to do something wrong! We left in disgust, I gave Hope the biggest hug ever, and promised her she would NEVER HAVE TO GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!

I spent 1.5 hours in the pouring rain w Anthony as we walked Benny into the field, where he was off-leash and learning how to follow, and also enjoying his time socializing with dogs. Anthony impressed upon me how important social play is for dogs to PURGE THE ENERGY out. Not going to lie, i LOVE to walk with dogs, and sitting around while THEY play was not my thing. LOL. WORLD OF A DIFFERENCE it has made. Benny is a great walker now (not pulling 90% of the time). He knows how to act when other dogs walk by us as he is rewarded to meet them after behaving! He's doing so well. Still a little touchy on the running toddlers and guarding, but I am confident we'll get there thanks for Anthony's guidance! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM, especially for new pups and rescue dogs!

For context, I have a 2 year old anxious labradoodle named Gus. When he was approached by new people he would aggressively bark and growl. I had worked with another dog trainer for over a year -- his problems just became worse. I became reluctant to do things with Gus because I was fearful he would growl/bark/act inappropriately when meeting new people. I was at my wits end and I consulted with a well respected training program here in NYC that said he was a "moderate to severe case" and would need multiple weeks of boarding training + years of follow up training to address his issues. Anthony solved Gus's problems in 1 session. Yes, 1 session... Within seconds of meeting him, Anthony just "got" Gus. His advice and feedback was completely different from the feedback I got from the other trainers and Gus responded immediately. I am not exaggerating when I say that Gus has not growled or barked at a single stranger since working with Anthony. I have been able to do so much with Gus and he seems so much calmer, happier and more confident than he was before. I only wish I had reached out to Anthony a year and a half ago. TL;DR- Don't waste your time or money with other trainers. Call Anthony today. You will be glad you did.

Book your appointments early! He books up quick (he's that great). He is also very personale which is a huge plus. During our consultation he immediately told me that three sessions would be the best package based off of the information I told him. I appreciated his honesty and he the fact he did not try to upsell me. During the first 10/15 minutes of meeting our pup, he provided his diagnosis. Not only that, he taught us something that corrected one of his behaviors before the end of the session. His first session was December 2020. We followed the instructions from the first session until his second session in February 2021. At first the appointments being spread out concerned us but, as soon as he came over, it was seamless and we picked up where we left off. He taught us more techniques and made it clear he was available for any questions until the next session. He implemented effective changes that were easy to teach and transferrable in addressing different behaviors. Todd completed his final session this month and the overall differences are notable. He addressed hand shyness, when company comes over, leash and collar changes, better obedience (shibas are stubborn), walking techniques, reactions/reinforcements, as well as better play techniques. I have already recommended him to a friend. Book him, you won't regret it!

My girlfriend and I contacted Dominik for some help with our 1.5 year old goldendoodle, Benny…read more Benny is a great dog but after training him ourselves for the first year or so we still needed to clean up a few areas of concern. We asked Dominik for help with the following: - Leash training. Despite trying to train basic leash skills with Benny it often felt like my girlfriend & I were out on a walk WITH HIM as opposed to the other way around. When he smelled or saw something interesting (plants, trees, stop signs, NYC street food aka chicken bones) he would quickly divert his path to go check that thing out & it would take us quite a bit of convincing to get him back at our side & walking again. - Reactivity to other dogs, and sometimes children, on the street. Benny would typically lay down prone when passing other dogs or children on bikes/scooters, encouraging them to come up to him, and then he would quickly pop up to say hello - sometimes startling the other dog and/or owner. We wanted him to stop with the laying down in the middle of the sidewalk & stop quickly popping up to say hello. - Reactivity to guests (expected or not) & delivery people. Benny would bark and growl anytime someone approached our front door or entered the house. Dominik helped us understand some of the bad habits we were utilizing as handlers and how they played into some of the behaviors we wanted to correct. Since working with Dominik Benny no longer lays down on the street to greet other dogs; he's still very curious and will look in their direction but he remains at our side without breaking stride. Along those lines, our walks are much more enjoyable now that he is obedient on leash, listens to our commands, and maintains eye contact/attention on us throughout our walks. Lastly, our final session was yesterday and we worked specifically on reactivity to unexpected guests and by utilizing place training + a positive reward system Benny was no longer growling at our friend who was there to act as a guest for the training session. Dominik also helped us work on off-leash recall skills & a proper heel position. Not only did he help us become better dog parents; he also helped Benny to be more confident when in new scenarios & improved his overall obedience. Dominik also introduced us to some tools that we were not familiar with (slip lead, clicker training, place board) and somewhat uncomfortable with before he taught us the proper techniques to utilize them (prong collar). We'll be utilizing all of these tools moving forward as they have been a massive aid. After 6 sessions with Dominik we feel more informed, prepared, & confident in continuing Benny's training. We can't thank Dominik enough.
