Left to right: - Crab Rangoon(4) $4.80 - Shrimp Fried Rice (pint) $7.50 - Hot and Sour Soup (pint) $3.95
    Jessica B.

Normally I only go to Golden Wok but it's so far out on Wendover and this place is closer to downtown Greensboro, I thought I'd try. Ordered a pint of shrimp fried rice, hot n sour soup, and some crab rangoons. Everything came out within 10 minutes- hot and tasty. Shrimp had a nice snap, and the soup had good flavor. Typically hot and sour soups around Greensboro are a bit bland but not here. Not sure why I don't see more people here. Pleasantly surprised. Go n' show em some love. Place is take-out only.

Steamed Dumplings - not at all good.

No. Seriously. 5 adults and 2 high chairs. I was hoping to slip in with a group and have fun. This seating is depressing. Oh let me not forget I waited 10 minutes at least to be seated. That wasn't so bad as I figured u had to wait on an odd numbered party to show up. I shoulda just waited into 4pm when the spot I really wanted to visit opened up. Our drinks & app service was decent. Never got our severs names but my Coke Zero was refilled without asking. Listening to the family at the table beside us chat and eat has been enjoyable while we sit here looking crazy. I've been here many times throughout the years. This has been the shortest wait to be seated. The longest wait to eat. And the most fumbled I've seen. Like who turns the table off? Loads of people in here. Plenty of people in the lobby waiting. But almost an hour between my arrival and the chef isn't even cooking? Nah. I'm good on Kabuto. Update! My medium ribeye was over cooked. I had medium. The people beside me ordered medium well. We are not together. This is why I don't order the filet because more often than not the steak gets overcooked. I typically order medium because I know the carry over will make it medium well. If you have a large group 6-10 then yes. Give this a whirl at least once. Solo dining night? Meh. Totally kid friendly too. I wanted to give this 4 stars but overcooked steak and the extra long wait took the fun out of it for me.

The rice will be fried, the meats will be cooked, and in the end, I will smother everything in enough of a mayonnaise-based white sauce that the finer variations from one hibachi place to the next don't really matter. What I do care about is the service and the entertainment. If someone is cooking in front of me, I expect them to be on their a-game. And, on my recent visit for dinner, our chef absolutely was. Though it was around 4:30 pm, so pretty early for dinner (and with smaller, quieter crowds), our chef pulled out all the tricks and was funny and engaging. Sometimes you get the sense that a chef hates his job and is just going through the motions, making you feel guilty for wanting to see an onion volcano -- that was not the case here. He was a total pro. Our waiter was also great, and struck the perfect balance between attentiveness and giving me space to enjoy my food and conversation. My drink stayed full and I never had to wait for something I needed, but I also didn't have to pause my conversation to speak to the waiter every 30 seconds, between mouthfuls of food. Like the chef, he was a total pro. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 only because my dessert bananas at the end were cold and not even caramelized, which was super disappointing. I think the chef was in a rush to get out of there, because our table took longer than the average for him to cook the food... a couple people we were seated with kept throwing food back on the grill (ew) and asking him to cook it longer. And I mean every single food they got, not just a steak. So, his timing might have been off in terms of getting to his next table, and ultimately it came at the price of cooking the final item correctly or really at all.

The building is older and you can tell not much has been done as far as renovations in a while, but everything was clean and comfortable. There isn't a front door facing the street but you enter on the side. On the front page of the menu there were some Specials, that seem to be an every night thing. I was excited to see that their dinner entrees came with the usual soup, salad, veggies, and rice but also noodles. Who could be mad about noodles? I went for the Hibachi Chicken and Shrimp for $28. We went near closing time so got a whole table to ourselves. Our waitress was very attentive and quickly brought our drinks and appetizers. I selected the ginger dressing for my salad. One of my favorite things about these places are all the sauces. I happily replied yes to all of the options. I like to mix the hot sauce in the white. Cuts the sweetness a little bit. I also don't know what they do special to make hot mustard but it's better than any I have bought in a grocery store. And I have tried! Despite a small audience, our chef was lively and gave us a good show. Strong kudos on his onion volcano! Quite a big flame. He noticed my husband's Washington Commanders hoodie and they had a nice conversation about football. He was very personable. The entree portions were huge and very flavorful. We each got a big helping of fried rice and noddles to start. Next was the vegetables (onions, zucchini, carrots) and my shrimp that also came with broccoli. Finally the chicken. Everything was delicious and I had plenty of leftovers to enjoy for future meals. I think we may have found our new teppanyaki place!

Hibachi is a healthy-ish option, and then I was sold on the lunch deal. Figured, worst case, it was a cheap lunch. I didn't expect a delicious meal worthy of table service hibachi restaurants. This is one of those places that make thinking of strip-mall restaurants as a 'hole in the wall' a thing of the past. This restaurant seems relatively new, but the ownership already have repeat customers, with 3 coming in while I was here for 30 and the owners memorized their orders. The owners are very kind and accommodating and the ambiance of the restaurant is nice for a small, fast-casual place. Super cute, hello kitty type vibes. I got the chicken, shrimp, and steak combo for lunch, which was right at $15 and would easily be $25-$30 at a table service style restaurant. I upgraded to having noodles from rice, which is included in that $15-ish cost. It came with a miso soup OR a ginger salad and I chose the latter. The salad was a good ginger salad, and the hibachi was fantastic. The female owner took my order, careful to verify several times, and asked me how I wanted my steak cooked, which I thought was interesting since I assumed for the deal it couldn't be super high quality steak. However, I bit into the steak during my meal and was surprised to find myself thinking 'holy crap, is that a perfectly cooked medium rare?'. Now, temper your expectations, this isn't A5 Wagyu, but it's better quality steak and food than you'd expect for a fast-casual, strip-mall restaurant. I'd forgotten she'd asked about the steak temp, accidentally dismissing the idea that it would be anything noteworthy to the steak, and only noticed because of my, uh, appreciation for (obsession with) food. On top of all of this, the portion was fantastic. I kept trying to find where the cost was hidden, so to speak, but it's just a great freaking value with a delicious meal. The only thing hidden was the chicken and steak I'd missed under my noodles, which, of course, my big backed self was happy to keep finding. I didn't finish the noodles and I'm accidentally stuffed. But, while we're on the subject, these weren't your typical after-thought noodles you get at 99% of places like this. It was seasoned super well and generously, and there were a ton of onions, carrots, etc. in the noodles, which added to the fantasticalness of the entire meal. The food is served in to-go format, so I could have (probably should have) taken left overs. The service is semi-table service, with the food and drinks being brought out, you throw away your trash, and then they clean the tables. Restaurant was very clean. Would highly recommend for lunch, dinner, dine-in, or to-go.

The wings surprised me... peppery, did not taste like Asian wings but rather, more like Popeyes pepper chicken. This was a decent surprise Also the chicken and shrimp hibachi was covered in a lot of watered down sauce. My rice test fell a little flat, bland and overcooked. Steamed rice was scraped from the sides and the bottom. Not very good Between the packaging and the proteins, I gave them a high rating. I just hope the rice improves next time I order and my hibachi is loaded in soup.
