Perfect for takeout or dine in. Great variety of seafood baskets to choose from. Loved the Oyster Basket, stuffed oysters with so much flavor in an excellent batter. Hush puppies were all that I could ask for. Had some crab as well and it was so tasty. Don't even need the butter at this point.

Definitely have to be paying attention to find this place! Check the hours too- hours vary based on what app you are looking at. Excellent food! Had plenty of options to choose from. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We ordered to then have a seat in the outside area. Lovely place to sit when weather is good![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food came out 10ish minutes after placing the order! Soo good! Zero complaints from us!

Highly recommend!!! We came for a late lunch on Friday and there was no wait. We sat outside w our two dogs and enjoyed the lovely weather. You order at the counter and get your drinks there. For drinks menu they do have wines and beers (canned and draft). There is a server that brings you your food. Service was fast and attentive. Our server came to check on us several times and made sure to bring our pups a bowl of water. - Scallop basket: DELICIOUS! Comes with 8 soft and buttery scallops. I subbed the side out for the sweet potato fries and it was a fantastic decision.

Staff was super accommodating! Had a big group come in. Took us last minute, didn't rush us at all. Food came out within 15 minutes. Nice atmosphere. The manager was super cool, perfect energy !! The food was fresh and tasty. The chicken sandwich was perfect! The shrimp was perfect! The burger was perfect!!

We came to Mama Easley's for my 44th birthday while vacationing in Corolla. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Mama Easley's is casual with orders taken at a counter as opposed to a server coming to your table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is brought out by servers. Drinks are self serve from a fountain drink machine. We had a group of 11. We were seated within an hour on a busy Thursday night in July. We started out with Calamari and Fried Green Tomatoes. For orders we got Shrimp, scallops, crab legs, crab cakes, and fish sandwiches. Everything was very well prepared. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My only thing was that we were looking for something a little fancier for my birthday and this restaurant is really casual.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Visited with our group of 9 on vacation. This place was not fancy, and good for families. I believe we were on the water, but there are no water views. Everyone orders at the counter so a little less convenient. Staff were very friendly. Food came out really fast. Food was good and plentiful. We had a little bit of everything, but the apps were probably the best part of the meal. We had the calamari and the fried green tomatoes. They use paper plates and styrofoam cups so no dishes. I felt a bit indifferent about the tip being that it wasn't full service so I didn't leave my typical 20-25%, but I still left 15%. Tab came to $360 after tax and tip for the 9 of us.

    Fried green tomatoes delish!!

I paid $35 for 2 overly spicy flat crab cakes. I wanted to get something I normally do not get because I am on vacation. Never again!

tl;dr: stick with a chicken dish and you will be very happy…read more Interesting little place, connected to a gas station. As you walk in you note the feel of it being a converted diner made to look like a country place. You grab your own menu, seat yourself, and walk up to the bar/register when ready to order. If the first time, you need a minute to get your bearings. Food ordered (3% fee is not using the cash "discount" FYI, pretty common around here and absurd given these OBX prices). Drinks are self serve. Some coke products and excellent tea. This was the end of breakfast around 10:30/11, so it was empty. Service was pretty quick. (they bring it to the table). I thought the breakfast pricing was fair. Shrimp and grits for $12, etc. Especially for the portion sizes. Two things I didn't care for. -The ceilling tiles were crazy dirty and stained and the flor light bulbs were uncovered. -The shrimp and grits needs a re-do. It's huge, with a base of grits, ladels of bacon gravy, and about 5 shrimp and cheddar cheese. It's more like a shrimp, grits, gravy, cheese casserole. I would have much rather had a base of grits, the gravy scooped in the middle with shrimp stuck in it, and topped with cheese. Even with all that you'd think there would be flavor. It was kind of bland minus the occasionally greasy/burnt bacon piece. Also, the shrimp were flavorful but over-cooked and tail on, which is traditional--but in the casserole were a pain in the butt to get the tail off/cut. I know they can do good flavors and plates. My spouse's chicken biscut...omg the hand-breaded chicken was fantastic! My son's baked apples were to die for. You Philly visitors will be happy to see scrapples on the menu - yuck. All in, I would repeat and stick to chicken and the chicken coop.

Breakfast at Chicken Coop was excellent. The biscuits were 10/10, the bacon perfectly crispy, and…read morethe sunny side up eggs cooked just right. The baked apples are perfectly seasoned, tender and delicious. Service was great! Would recommend for breakfast.
