Imagine our surprise and genuine disappointment when our party arrived and found Gozo Kitchen & Lounge's doors locked and the restaurant was dark inside. There was no sign on the door explaining why the restaurant was closed down, just for the day or permanently. No one answered the restaurant telephone to offer any explanation. A new place in town for us to try! It's got a nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Menu wasn't huge but tasty items to try. We had the ceviche appetizer and the bone marrow appetizer. Who're the main we had a New York steak and the pork chop. Food was fair. Ceviche as tasty and very much on the spicy side. Bone marrows were amazing but not enough...so good. On the New York steak plate they over cooked the meat. I asked for medium which should be pink mine was medium well with very little pink. In addition it lacked a nice charred crust on the outside. Pork chop was nice, the Thai sauce made the dish. Sides were average. Glade we tried it but doubt we will return. read more

Visited Gozo Kitchen and Lounge on a Thursday at 6:30pm. We made reservations, but didn't need to as no one was there. When we entered there was one man sitting and waiting for his to go order. A woman greeted us and asked if we had a reservation. We said yes and she showed us to the table they had set up for us. I immediately noticed two dead bugs next to our table. I got scared thinking they were baby roaches, but upon further inspection realized they were June bugs and decided to stay. They were playing county music and videos on the television. We ordered the Korean Strip for an appetizer. It was delicious! I wish I didn't have to share. We ordered the Paloma and Watermelon Margarita to drink. Both were really refreshing and not very strong. For entrees, we ordered the Gozo burger and New York Steak. My husband ordered his steak medium rare and that's exactly what he got. He stated it was a little fatty on the edge, but otherwise good. He devoured his whole meal. I ordered the burger medium well and it was cooked accordingly. The burger was surprisingly light and airy. I loved the look of the logo burned into the hamburger bun, but I didn't like the taste of it. The logo gave the burger a weird burnt, maybe even chemical taste. Otherwise, it would have tasted very good. We left around 7:40 and no new patrons came in the whole time. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The waitress was very attentive. Overall, good service and pretty good food. They could've cleaned up the dead bugs next to our table. Drinks could've been a little stronger and the burger bun could've done without that charred taste. The Korean strip was my favorite part. read more

We had a Large table of 12 people and our Drinks were either getting forgotten or she'd forget to come by again and ask if we wanted more. She'd walk by the table not really look at us, more like a Glance over us, I had to get off my seat a few times and ask for something, or call the restaurant, haha. Again she was alone and the place started to get filled in a bit more. Very understandable. Yet not very attentive.. Our Food didn't come all at once and some people had to wait and it made everyone else's food get cold, cause whos going to eat when people are hungry right? Made reservations for Valentine's Day at 8pm. Arrived at 750pm. Finally sat down at a table at 845pm. 15 minutes passed by and no greeting from any waitress or apologies for the wait or given an opportunity to order anything. My wife and I just simply got up and left. We ended up eating next door to TACOS EL JUANITO. Food was amazing and served to our table in about 5 minutes. Highly recommend Tacos el Juanito. read more

This restaurant has absolutely no control over its reservations. We booked a 7:30 PM Valentine's Day reservation, arrived on time, and were immediately told that reservations were completely backed up. At first, we were given a 1-hour wait, but after waiting that long, they admitted they had no idea how much longer it would be. This is completely unacceptable--if you're going to overbook, don't offer reservations. We weren't the only ones; multiple other reservation holders were also stuck waiting outside or in their cars, with no clear timeline. The biggest issue seems to be poor management. The restaurant should have a set time limit per table (e.g., 1-2 hours max), especially in a small space. Instead, they let diners stay as long as they want, leaving everyone else stranded. If the restaurant can't handle its capacity, it needs better policies or fewer bookings. This experience was frustrating and entirely avoidable. After 2 hours of waiting we were told that they still don't have an ETA and there's 7 parties ahead of us. This is terrible service!! Now we have to go to Olive Garden. Great! What a waste of time. First time I went there I had the burger and fries. It was tasty. The second time we held our groups wine dinner there. Chef Miguel did a great job preparing a four course prefixe meal for 45 people. The salad was fresh, the bone marrow gnocchi was moist and delicious, the steaks seasoned well and a nice desert to finish things off. Everyone enjoyed the meal. As we talked in at lunch time on a Sunday, the place is empty except for two ladies, it's nicely decorated with grapevines,brick and twinkling lights. We ordered cafe de olla,No, it was Not. We ordered steak and eggs with potatoes. The steak was well seasoned,potatoes were raw and hard to chew. Husband had the green chilaquiles ,could not eat them. We understood since it was a busy night. About 15 tables that were covered in Valentines decor, very nice. We had a large family dinner here for a birthday. Nothing was good. AC not working, but they had fans going that also didn't work. The parts of the menu that caught our eye weren't available? Kids ordered pizza off the kids menu, they forgot to make them. When we asked a 1st, 2nd, then 3rd time, we saw them put them in the oven. When they came out, they were still frozen. Food was awful and we were terribly embarrassed with our whole family present. Owner apologized up and down. He asked for my number to call us for a free "make up" meal. Mofo never even called. This restaurant overbooks reservations. We made a reservation at 7pm and arrived at 6:45pm and were told to wait at least an hour. What's the point of making reservations? She said we can wait in our car and she will call once our table is ready. After an hour, we went to check and she said our table is not ready yet. We decided to wait at my friend's house a few blocks away. Guess what? No phone call all night. She even read back my phone number when I checked in. I don't care how good their food is, if they can't get the basic principles of running a business, I don't we will go again. read more

Like so many others, I had a reservation at 7:45 on Valentines Day and after arriving 10 minutes early I was told it would be at least a 2 hour wait. This was my first Valentines Day with my date and we ended up going to In-N-Out. I put all my eggs in the Gozo basket and they got cracked. This is all to simply say that this restaurant needs to learn to manage their tables better going forward on busy days. There is nothing wrong with politely asking a table to take the party elsewhere once their dining experience has concluded. That being said, I will be returning to Gozo to actually experience a meal there since the food did look delicious. I wanted to take my wife somewhere special for Mother's Day and boy was Gozo Kitchen a hit. They had a special Mother's Day Brunch and menu. Everything was DELICIOUS. The pasta, potatoes, and asparagus all had wonderful tasting flavors. The prime rib was good and tender. The shrimp cocktails which included nice size shrimp accompanied by a great tasting and yummy cocktail sauce with a mild kick. Service was wonderful. We were even entertained by Chris Logan and his band providing live music to listen to while we ate. We got a chance to meet and have a nice conversation with Chef Miguel and let him know how pleased we were with our visit and meal. We can't wait to return so we can enjoy more of their dishes.
