This place is up the block from my doctor and my daughter's doctor's office. I've been coming here since 2024 while I was pregnant with my daughter. Their bagels are fresh, made with care, and the staff is always very nice. It's perfect for summer time dining when they have these little tables out front but it's normally a grab and go situation. This was my first time trying their flagels and I got mine with cream cheese and tomato (try it before you judge it lol). It wasn't overloaded at all. Food: I got the Lox n' Loaded on an everything bagel for a pricey $14 and a small cold brew. The portion size was pretty decent. Unfortunately the flavor was very much underwhelming. The bagel itself was supposed to be toasted but it didn't seem like there was any at all. The everything seasoning lacked in flavor and the texture was overly doughy and dense. And idk what it was but it had an off sweetness to it that I didn't enjoy. The contents were ok but the lox did taste a little over cured. Everything else was decent. As I walk pass Grabstein's Bagels I was in WOW! The decor inside, the chandelier is what quickly caught my eye. Made me tell myself you have to go inside. The decor was off the top. At any restaurant or place you go to you EAT with your eyes first. The restaurant look too clean and good for me not to visit and see what they had to offer. I got me my favorite a pistachio muffin. This bagel spot seems like it is a good addition to the area. It has many choices of bagels, spreads, different sandwiches and non sandwiches. When you walk in it smells like fresh bagels! Smells amazing. It seems like it's a retro type bagel shop. There is no seating inside, so it is more of a grab and go place. Though, there are tables and chairs outside but very few. The guy who helped me was nice and answered my questions about the egg cup. Service though was a bit on the slower side and it was not even crowded. I wanted to try the egg, avocado, cheese and tomatoes in a cup. So I got that and a sesame bagel with scallion cream cheese, because obviously I am at a bagel shop have to try their bagels right? The egg cup was actually tastier than I thought, when I got to the bottom it was a bit on the watery side, probably due to the juices from tomatoes? The bagel was alright nothing special. Came here for a quick bite and ordered the Meshuguna bagel. It's listed on the menu wall as smoked salmon, white fish, scallion cream cheese and onion. It costs $15. I paid $16.93 because of tax and a credit card fee. The order does not come as it's written - it looked wrong when I opened it so I brought it back in and showed him their error. The cashier was super rude and defensive. He said the menu changed the ingredients but call the bagel the same thing and now it's smoked salmon cream cheese instead of smoked salmon (itself) with scallion cream cheese. Basically a cheaper version without whole ingredients. I was basically misled and spent nearly $17 on a bagel with an inaccurate menu and no communication until I brought it to the counter. I asked for a refund, which they said would like 5 to 7 days so instead he said they would email me my receipt. This could have been resolved in a way better manner. First, I should have been told when I ordered directly off the menu that most items inside the bagel had changed. This would have avoided all the issues. Secondly, when I came in to raise the issue about the wrong ingredients, they should have apologized and offered to make the sandwich as it was listed on the menu or offered a refund and just generally been easier to work with. Instead, I was misled, had to raise the issue myself, and then had to make my own request for a refund which they were not pleasant about. read more

Not one to write reviews or complain but just wanted people to know. It's Saturday morning and I stopped by to grab a dozen bagels and multiple spreads to gift a friend. The people working the counter were the unfriendliest and helpful. When I saw that had forced a dozen bagels into this paper bag, I asked to have it double bagged. I was afraid bagel woudl rip and the bagels were popping out. Lady at counter, barely looking at me, said she could not double bag. Brand new bagel shop just opened Saturday. Everything is made fresh daily. I got a pumpernickel bagel to go. It's grab and go for now. The owner/partner spoke to me about their plan for the future. They are definitely working out the kinks because they just opened. I'm already a fan because of the bagel varieties and delicious looking baked goods. I've got a lot of photos to post and will post more of my bagel and pastry soon. The customer service is very good, quick pace. The place is very busy already. They open 7am. Hours need to be posted on the window. Give them a chance to get a groove on! They're very welcome in this neighborhood from speaking to the other customers today. Checked out the new bagel joint in the hood today. Has an old school retro bagel shop look to it. Basic variety of bagels with a nice offering of schmears and spreads. Classics like egg on a roll, BLT, and lox on a bagel too. Reasonable prices. Everything bagel with cream cheese was good. No seating though as it's basically grab and go. As I got here around 2pm bagel choices were scarce. Was told they close at 3pm. Hot and iced coffee drinks too. Some pastries like muffins also available. read more

About a week in and they're thriving. I went here two days in a row because i loved Ronny's Favorite! I highly recommend adding bacon! The staff are super sweet and the register is quick. The first day I had their cold brew, which had me wired for several hours. The second days i tried the avocado toast on whole wheat, i didn't realize it came on a bagel! I thought that was super cool, however the bagel to avocado ratio was disproportionate. Otherwise i loved the salty kicks from the everything bagel seeds they put on! There are only a few things that go in your mouth that I consider myself to be an expert on. Two of them are bagels and coffee. Today I was at the top of the UES to take care of something, and it became apparent that I needed a sesame bagel, some butter, and a cup of coffee before completing my task. Yelp brought me to this place. Let's start with the coffee. By Italian or French standards, the coffee here would be taunted, and described as burnt piss from a severely dehydrated donkey; however, I've lived in the city almost my whole adult life, and I actually like burnt donkey piss. This coffee tells a NY'r he's home. It's always great to be home. The bagels were solid, but not the greatest I've had... but, this is NYC, so the bar is insanely high here. Everything was great about the bagel except for the deep crumb, which had a little too much of a "Wonder Bread" texture for me. Despite that: good all around bagel. For the 96th St location: The music was so loud on a weekday morning that I could hear it from the street. Two people were behind the counter though only one person was taking orders. When I asked if they would lower the music--everyone was shouting when placing their orders-- both guys behind the counter began laughing. Then one of them turned UP the music, and the 2 guys began whispering and laughing. It's not hard to figure out why. The guy who turned up the music next began banging things, just to make his point that he was more important than anyone else in the store. Noise was his thing, not the customers. There is no reason to return. The rudeness and smug behavior is unacceptable. Nor were the guys at all helpful or accommodating. But they sure were impressed with themselves. The only person working was an older Asian woman making each order, off to the side and largely hidden in the back. I felt sorry for her having to work in a loud and unfriendly place. Also, it is weird that you don't see any food, apart from bins filled with bagels. As for the bagels: meh. Bloated and missing any real "chew."
