Good service. Barely average food and small portions this time. Very disappointing Fish Masala as they cut the already small portion of fish into tiny pieces. It was almost a fish mash! Also the fish was a bit overcooked which made it lose its delicious flakiness it should have. The Lamb Rogan Josh was not tender. It was mostly borderline very tough. The Aloo Gobi was ok but not delicious as it should be. Tons of oil, barely any flavour. Asked for everything very spicy and it was but they didn't have the skill level to increase the heat while retaining the flavour and not have it overpower the dishes. I don't think they use fresh chilis, just lots of oil. The naan was just ok as well. I recall their naan at least being very soft and fluffy but this was flat and a bit stale tasting. It is a cozy clean restaurant with good service but there's no reason to come back.

I've walked by Grace of India more times than I can count and have always been intrigued by their specials they advertise. This place previously was a random sushi spot. We dropped in on a Tuesday evening (around 6:00pm) and were the first patrons. The inside is spacious with 7 booths and another two tables. Our server was attentive and came by several times to refill our waters. You can choose your level of spice (mild, medium or hot); we went with medium but it barely registered on my taste buds. They have several specials; Monday dine in special ($8.99 for any curry with rice and naan), take out or dine in (10% off on orders over $20.00) and a daily special ($34.95). The regular menu is split into combos, appetizers, vegetarian, Karahi specialities, meats (chicken, tandoori, lamb and seafood), bread, rice (biryani), tid bits and desserts. - Daily special ($34.95) - vegetable pakora, vegetable curry, non-vegetable curry, two naan, rice and two drinks. You can choose any dish for the curries (except from the Karahi and biryani options). Drinks can be anything non-alcoholic. - 2x Mango lassi - been awhile since I've had a mango lassi. Decent but I've had better. - Vegetable pakora - 6 pieces of pakora. Fairly standard fare. - Plain naan - these were solid and fluffy. - Aloo gobhi - cauliflower and potatoes cooked with ground onion, tomatoes, ginger and garlic. This was surprisingly bland. Potatoes were dry. - Saag lamb - lamb cooked with spinach and Indian spices. This was my favourite out of everything we ordered although again, the saag was muted in flavour. Lamb was okay but could have been tenderer. - Karahi chicken ($13.99) - chicken cooked with tomatoes, assorted peppers, onion, ginger, garlic, fresh masala and coriander. This was the SMALLEST dish. Yowza. Wouldn't get this again. - Fish pakora ($10.99) - cod fritters with a side of mint sauce. Sauce was tasty and needed to balance out the slightly salty pakoras. At least the fish was tender and lightly fried. Nothing special about GoI. 2.5 stars.

Newly open Indian restaurant near my place...walking distance.Previously occupied by aJapanese restaurant. FYI;this place doesnt serve beef.... Street parking plus an arcade shared with other businesses. Neat place dim light with indian inspired decor,i believed this 3 week old restaurant is a family owned business. Big TV playing sports when i came, the place can house aroud 30 persons dine in and take out,I noticed a lot of clients picking up orders. Wifi free and waiter service,Good for group, family, kids and excellent with clientele who loves south asian cuisines. Its a bit pricey i got the combo meal its called grace tandori dinner($24.99) plus tax no drinks yet. This is an all barbeque combo of tandori chicken, chicken tikka, tandori prawns, seekhabab, served with pulao rice, vegetables, dal, naan and dessert -gulab jamun. I dont eat lamb (seekhabab) so they just add more of the other stuffs in my order. Service is just ok,noise level is average. Accept cash/card/credit not a bad place to enjoy spicy cuisine from India

Loved it. Quiet, authentic, and fast service. The food was phenomenal. Tandoori was sizzling and had a pleasant mild taste. Lamb vindaloo was hot, the flavours rich and vibrant. A lot of heat. The naan bread was homemade and soft, completely delicious.

Been meaning to try this place for a while, so we ordered take-out for dinner on a Friday -- food was ready within 20 minutes. Lots of vegetarian options on the menu, many of which are default vegan or can be made vegan. We ordered the bhindi, vegetable jalfrezi, aloo gobi, and some roti. Everything was very well-spiced and flavoured, with generous portions, and priced well. Lots of veggies in each too, which was nice given how some Indian places end up being very saucy with little substance. Compared to some other places in town (e.g., Sula), the flavours aren't particularly rich, but they dishes were all designed well. Solid place -- we definitely enjoyed our meal.

There are so many restaurants in Vancouver that deliver, and at the end of the day, this checks the boxes in so many ways (at least our takeaway did) that when I come back into town again, it's on the list for a family dinner.

Forage in your fridge or pantry? BZZZZTT! Wrong! The right answer is to set out for a late night traffic-free drive and head straight to the aptly named Dosa Factory. Or, for the not-so-outgoing kind, order delivery via Uber Eats. Been there, done that! Foodie Factor: Each and every dish that we have had the pleasure of trying here has been delish, from the perfect Medhu Vada (the right level of crispy on the outside and tender on the inside), the oh-so-tasty Onion Rava Masala Dosa with Paruppu Podi (sprinkled generously with gun powder), the Gobhi Manchurian (so so good that it got me nostalgic!), the yummy goat biryani, the different flavorful curries, the spot-on green Coconut Chutney and Sambhar, to the refreshing Indian coffee. Top off the sumptuous meal with mukhwas or sugar-coated saunf (fennel seeds) when you visit the counter to pay the bill, and the entire end-to-end Desi meal experience is complete! Service with a Smile: What best complements the delicious food on offer here is the fantastic, friendly and prompt service, even at 1 AM! Hats off and kudos to Bhakti and co. for serving us hungry souls post-midnight, not just with yummy chow but also with their genuine smiles :) Ambiance & Vibe Check: Given the mostly Desi crowd at all hours from day to night, the babble of conversations, the quality cuisine being served, plus the ambiance and decor with larger-than-life frames containing snippets of India's culture and its monuments, it's perfectly reasonable to feel as is you've been transported to the country itself for the entirety of your visit! Talk about a holistic and immersive meal experience which is great for dates, group meetups, and even solo treats! Parking Pain or Perk: Parking along Kingsway during rush hours is no cakewalk, and the limited street parking makes it a tad bit challenging. Cue, one or more times of circling the block! If you do get lucky, rest assured that parallel parking to fit into a tight spot by the busy road will whet your appetite (though you might lose it in a jiffy if you make a dent on the street before getting to make one on the plate!) Bang for Your Bite (Value/ROI): Given the good portion sizes along with the quality of food and service, plus unlimited bottled water, you get a fair deal for the price you pay without feeling like you're splurging. Be mindful though that the EBTT syndrome (read, Eyes Bigger Than Tummy) will ensure that you end up ordering way more than you had planned to, so it's more likely than not that you will get an inflated bill with leftovers to take home. Clean-o-meter: The place is pretty neat, thanks to the attentive cleaning staff who are constantly on their toes, attending to plates and tables that warrant their attention. The restrooms were A-OK. All in all, my mother would approve, I think! Overall: Needless to say, I'll be back here soon, risking the EBTT and ensuing food coma, just to enjoy the food-induced high! Highly recommend! *BURP*

I really like the flavours and textures in this dish. Just wished it didn't get soggy so fast. - Hyderabadi Murgh: Good. Just a great dish to go with the rice. - Khurmani Kofta: I didn't enjoy this one. I've never had this dish before, but tasted more like a dessert. Obviously, the garlic naan and chicken curry also deserve an honorable mention. The staff warned us that another party was arriving at 9:00 PM, so we were trying to wrap things up. Masala dosa, sambar, and parotta. Some of the best I've had! So I returned with a Friend a few nights ago to order a quick takeout (2X sambar, 2X parotta). We did have to wait 15 minutes which is great because you know you're getting fresh food. The sambar was quite a lot smaller than last time, as was the parotta. Still great quality. But disappointed my previous order made 2 meals when ordered through delivery app. When in person, portions were 1/2. Staff were very friendly and I believe the owner came up to us to chat. Nice! I still highly recommend! Apparently they have a weekend buffet as well, though the chafing stations I saw only held 12 various sized small to medium dishes. Would I order again? In a heartbeat! Would I question the portion sizes to the owner on my next visit? Absolutely!!! Why do I get 2X the portions when ordering through delivery app rather than in person? But still, I rank this the best sambar I've had in Vancouver (next to my own).
