Stopped by here for lunch on a weekday and the place was quiet. However it was busy for take out as there was a $10.95 lunch special (take out only). It was a good deal as the price of curries was $15.99 and up. I decided to try the fish tikka which was staff favorite and the chef's special (methi malai curry with chicken) and rice. The fish tikka came sizzling on the hot plate and a cloud of smoke obscured the food till it settled down. The fish was tender and flavorful. Very tasty. Big portion with 8 pieces of fish. The methi malai curry with chicken was mild in flavor but very creamy. They use buttercream in it. I had it in its usual form which was medium heat (not spicy at all to me). You could request for different spice level. There were many chunks of chicken compared to other places. I lost count after the 8th piece. So $15.99 was not too bad since you got more meat. These two dishes would be more than enough for two persons. I would want to come back to get the butter chicken lunch special in future. Friendly staff. Payment is at the counter.

Absolutely love this place. Our server, Anureet was very helpful, patient, and friendly in describing the dishes. She even made a few suggestions with our order when we wanted paneer vindaloo and fish butter curry. (She recommended having paneer butter curry and fish vindaloo instead). The food came out a bit slow I think but the flavours didn't disappoint. There was a hair in our rice but Anureet was so friendly that I didn't want to complain haha. Veg pakora. Good. I would have liked a but crispier but I would order it again. Aloo tikka chat: saaaao good. We were gonna order a chickpea masala as well but Anureet described this dish and said we wouldn't need to order the chickpea masala since this aloo tikka chat would have chickpeas on top. The sauce was delish. Fresh herbs and the perfect spice. Anureet would double check on us once in a while to see if we could handle the spice. It was good. The potato patty was pretty hearty as well. Traditional paneer butter curry: savoury. Perfect with the side dish of missi roti we ordered Fish vindaloo: tangy as promised but not too tangy Chai was saaaao good. Nice and creamy. :)

    The spicy, tangy meat platter!

What a gem Village Curry and Spice is. Auntie and Uncle cooking in the immaculate kitchen. The niece in front serving and welcoming everyone with a warm smile. We ordered the All Meat platter which arrived enveloped in smoke- pretty spectacular, especially when another meat platter arrived across the room! This is their specialty. Tender fish, chicken, lamb-every meat on the menu! Served with three tangy sauces, this is a carnivore delight. We finished with the home made gulab jaman-super tasty, and a pot of tea. What a lovely feast! Lots of vegetarian options here-all cooked with love and care. A family-owned and operated eatery. Very popular while we were there today over lunch. Lots of street parking. Located in the heart of Steveston on Moncton Street.

New Indian restaurant opened in Steveston. We passed by this little shop this morning and very curious about their food. So we decided to give it a try and ordered some takeout. * Methi Malai Curry with Lamb ($17.95) : very creamy and soft curry and the lamb topping we choose is very tender. The naan that served with the curry is just the perfect pairing. * Full Meat Platter ($28.99): this starter is a bit expensive, but you got a little bit of everything. A variety of meat that they have is a good option to try everything. This platter came with 4 fish Pakora, 4 golden fried chicken, 3 Malai, 3 Tandoori chicken Tikka, 4 Lamb Tikka, and quarter of roasted chicken. This platter is good to share with 2-3 people. * Chicken Samosa (complementary): I didn't see this item on the takeout menu. Maybe they made it for complementary only? But this Samosa's filling is so goood! Taste very fresh and great hint of spice. Only downside is very greasy. Too much oil on the bottom of the container that dripped out...but it's so yummy... We will give other types of curry a try when we come to Steveston next time.

Great place to enjoy some South Africa fusion East Indian food with a beautiful water view!…read more We order the fish pakora, curry chicken, veggie paneer korma and some beef short ribs. It was our first time, and the server made some recommendations. He was very patient with us, answered all the questions. My favorite was the veggie paneer korma, it was very tasty. The fish pakora was also very nicely done, soft and crunchy the same time. The short ribs were a little overcooked, but they were nice to pair with some fries. The restaurant has a beautiful water view by London landing, and we even took a walk down by the walking path after dinner. I'm glad that we found this place.

Awesome vibes at this spot with a view of Steveston Harbour! High ceilings, friendly staff (can be a bit slow, as it's a large restaurant and only 1-2 servers during dinner when I went). Free parking around the corner. Fish Pakora ($18/8pc) - I really enjoyed this! Light batter, sauce was good. BBQ Platter $29 (2 Chicken Tikka, 3 Mishkaki, 2 Beef Ribs & Fries) - Don't recommend this, it's kind of a mixed plate of mediocre items. Chicken was a tad dry. Butter Chicken ($22) - I'd order this again, can't go wrong with this.
