Was so hungry and thirsty - and my poor feet needed a break My latte w/ caramel flavor was PERFECT (I regret not getting a bigger size lol) and I got the turkey pesto - scarfed down it was so good. The food at this establishment is wonderful. That is, what was available. On the day I patronized, they had NO Soup available, and no salmon. However... The ambiance was terrible. One staff member sat most of the time on her phone, which was on speakerphone, forcing us to have to listen to her phone conversations, loud and inane music, whatever she chose to pollute the dining space with. This was on-top of the "tinny" speaker playing less-than-cafe-like music from behind the counter. Absolutely in no way making for a pleasant dining experience, at all. We were visiting, and jumped on a street car and ended up in the Garden District, where we found the gem. I don't know how they make their eggs, but they are the fluffiest things ever. Got them on a croissant and didn't regret anything. Single stalled bathroom, and when we were there, there was a wait almost the entire time we were there. You need a code. read more

Ok, best scone I've had in a long time but it could be because I was in Germany for the last 6 months where they don't really have scones. This one was uniquely good though because it was the perfect texture and sweetness without tasting like a cupcake or biscuit. I had one two days in a row and even as a day old it was amazing. I had the cold brew and the London smog with vanilla instead of lavender due to the barista's on point recommendation. It was amazing! I love the cute corner store front on St. Charles and I will come back here again and again. The service was really genuine and helpful. Highly recommend, favorite coffee shop I've had in New Orleans so far! Update: downgraded to 4 star. I came in before work hoping to relax and have a cappuccino in a big ceramic mug with an encouraging heart on it.. nope, not here. I didn't express the expectation because when I said for here and not to go, I thought it was a known outcome. This is not your place if you're looking for that. Popped in here around 1pm on a Thursday. There were only a handful of other people here. I got the smoked turkey sandwich with a hibiscus iced tea. The girl taking orders didn't seem to really be paying much attention. She asked me my order twice and then still got my drink wrong (ordered elderberry but got hibiscus). Don't get me wrong the drink was still good, so I wasn't too upset. They had ample seating inside and a few places to sit outside. The sandwich was great! Perfect for a light lunch. read more

Nothing gracious here. Maybe change the name to not gracious bakery. The cashier was very unfriendly and down right rude. The coffee was weak. I ordered a Breve and got warm milk with a splash of coffee. The pastry was subpar not the flaky goodness you expect from a bakery. My sisters ordered and waited over 15 mins. One was told she didn't pay for her order that she did in fact pay for with cash but due to the fact that the cashier didn't give her (or any of us) a receipt she couldn't "Prove" she paid for it so did not get her pastry. In this establishment the customer is not always right. If you choose to come here ALWAYS get a receipt especially if you're paying cash. The ambiance is a little noisy they do have outside seating directly across from the St. Charles trolley stop that's a plus. Walk a few blocks up and avoid this place. read more

I walked out of a place that I previously frequented, and came to this location because of terrible service at the previous location. I have new dietary restrictions caused by a chronic illness and needed a slight change made to my sandwich, the staff here was amazing and helpful and went beyond! We had the salmon bagel and the guava turnover. What a great way to start the morning! The poor girl was single handed taking orders, while serving as cook and barista while there was a crowd due to walking tours that use the location as their start point. While there was a small wait, she plowed through with a great attitude and everything including the pumpkin chi was great. read more

Want to know an amazing place to grab coffee, tea or pastries from? GRACIOUS. Christina, one of the kindest souls I've ever met, always provides me with top tier service and an amazing cup of tea. Every time I go here, the service is unmatched. Christina always makes sure that I am taken care of and my order is done to my liking before I leave the cafe. The pastries are divine as well. But if you want a baguette that tastes like it came from France-- this is the place to go. The atmosphere is lovely and quaint, it's right on St. Charles Ave, so it's a perfect place to stop by after a run or on a morning walk. And you can never go wrong making a stop during Mardi Gras. The king cakes are delicious too. Will continually support this cafe, and it's such a treat to have right here in the lower garden district/uptown neighborhood. read more

Gracious bakery has a very generic feel w/a few tables, the display cases of goodies and the counter service. Don't let that fool you! The avocado toast is a nice little nosh. As with most avocado toast, I wish it would be a little bit less char/toast in the bread base so it's not like cutting into it and fearing it's going to jump off the plate and attack the person on the other side of the table. The croissants are what one loves buttery, flaky, crumbs all over you if you're not careful. Kept a couple in my purse for snacks during the day when I wandered about the Quarter. Pricing is fantastically what I would call cheap for New Orleans for excellent quality. read more

"OK!" 1. Food: not really a place to get an outstanding creation like O'Delice, Bittersweet, or the old Sucre. Nothing here is bad, just not special (see pic). 2. Atmosphere: here's the real problem. This is one of the cutest corner bakeries I've been to in a while. I heard about the seasonal pumpkin themed items and thought we'd give it a try. The pumpkin cheesecake was delicious not as sweet as we'd thought it would be. The chocolate dobarge cake was delicious as well with raspberry filling in between. That was a bit of a surprise! The cookies were also really good we couldn't help but take a bite out or the cookie first. But the prize item was the Pumpkin Caramel Croissant! Man it was flaky, soft and very flavorful! So I got there a bit late sadly. Wanted so much to try their creative looking pastries, or even my established favorite, an almond croissant, but there were only two options upon arriving--a solitary plain croissant or a scone. The croissant was delicious so no complaints. It didn't come with butter or jam so I had to ask and was given some butter. They have decaf there, too, and almond milk. Read the reviews and was close so I thought I'd check it out. Wasn't impressed . Wasn't greeted when I entered as the other patrons were so that's always a turnoff. The cashier wasn't the warmest to me when I asked if we ordered first then seat ourselves. I had the eggs and sausage sandwich on a bagel and the sausage was small and the eggs were a bit on the runny side. My company always orders catered lunch from here and I storm the kitchen to make sure I get the turkey sandwich and side of pecan cranberry salad. After seeing so many people that I follow on Instagram post their baked goods, it dawned on me that I'd never come here in person. Needing a change of scenery and a new place to work, I headed to Gracious on the St. Charles street car line for lunch and to knock out work on my laptop. There are over two dozen baked goods including donuts, muffins, cookies, cupcakes, various savory and sweet breads, croissants, scones, hand pies, quiches and so much more! I'm a creature of habit, so I ordered the turkey focaccia sandwich with chips, and to be a little adventurous I indulged in their dulce de leche brownie. Service was efficient and friendly! There is ample indoor seating and a few tables outside. Inside is not wheelchair accessible since there are a couple steps to enter the front door. Besides baked goods and cafe food, they have a full coffee bar, (sans blended drinks) and display coolers selling wine, energy drinks, and assorted non alcoholic beverages. Gracious does offer catering, and you can purchase seasonal goods to go in store like king cakes, loaves of bread and assorted gift baskets. The free WiFi was perfect for me to use for a few hours, and it wasn't super noisy. There are only a couple plugs inside, so if you plan to do work here, make sure you snag a table by the wall. read more

I came here bc the reviews were great. The girl at the register was nice...that's it! I got my bagel first. As you can see the love (exaggerating). The bagel tasted rubbery and cold. I got my coffee 15 mins later bc the coffee girl with the winter hat served everyone else after me first, which the coffee I got tasted nasty. The caramel was cold and I couldn't stir it. The older lady who made my bagel and the coffee chick had no type of customer service etiquette. Please don't waste your money going here. I was in the mood for salad so decided to pickup from Gracious Bakery. I really like their offerings because they are healthier, but the kitchen closes at 2p so it's difficult to order. I did make it the other day and ordered the avocado toast as well as the lentil + salad. Best. Breakfast Sandwiches. Ever. One morning I woke up a little too late to grab my typical fast food brekkie sandwich and decided to stop by Gracious Bakery on my way to work. With a few minutes to spare, I grabbed their Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich (which you can build your own way for the most part) and a few pastries to hold me over before the lunchtime hungries caught me slipping early at my desk. And all I have to say is wow! I like to get my sandwich on a biscuit with smoked cheddar, a little aioli, add a sausage patty and it is frickin to die for. The biscuits are freshly baked, sausage patty has that super southern flavor like my grandmama will fry up and if you're lucky, you can get a nice little cheese pull in the middle of all of this deliciousness. Don't sleep on the baked goods either. I'm a big fan of their banana bread. I tried the iced coffee last week for the first time with a little pecan syrup and it was delish! Gracious also does social distancing very well. I recommend sitting outside for a spell if you have extra time to spare or even setting up for a little studying, remote work or streetcar/people watching on the avenue! I love it here. read more
