All the crepes we had (and we had a lot), were delicious. The ambiance was very quiet which is a nice change from many local restaurants. The most interesting and unique part of the experience was the man behind the counter, who was very surly and grumpy. In a curry full of southern hospitality and servers that go out of their way to give you a good experience, he made sure to let everyone know how much he disliked his job. I can't lie, I respect his honesty. He was overwhelmed with orders, working alone, and wasn't afraid to tell us all about it! Would definitely return. Everyone should try this place! read more

Very welcoming place with great coffee and crepes. Feels like a local neighborhood treasure. Café au lait was hot coffee with foamy steamed milk on top. The crepe of the day was called el Bandito and had quite a kick with chicken and jalapeño ... our kids had strawberry and chocolate and loved it so much they ordered a second one. It's a one-man operation so be sure to arrive with patience and grace. He made our coffees before the crepes so we were happy sipping while waiting. read more

Fantastic spot for breakfast/brunch on magazine street. We were the only ones in there when we arrived at around 10 am on a Saturday morning. The owner is the only one in there doing everything very impressive service. Both my wife and I loved our crepes and she loved her coffee. I just had water. She got more of an Italian one I can't remember the name and I had a breakfast one with ham, cheese, veggies. Also, can't remember the name. We will definitely be back next time we're in New Orleans. Place should be packed every day. A couple more tables came in as we were finishing up. But this place is too good to not be full. read more

This place is our "go to" for crepes and coffee. The owner who is the only face you will see is not only a knowledgeable barista. He's a magician. He slings out perfect crepes and coffee by himself better and faster than places that have multiple people working. I don't know how he does it. This place is always amazing! read more

This place was absolutely delicious. It was one of the best meals I had in NOLA. Upon walking in, there's only one worker there who I'm presuming to be the owner. He told us it would be about 5-10minutes until he could take our order, due to him cooking and not being able to take orders at the same time. No worries, gave us plenty of time to look at the menu plus, he was very quick so we didn't have to wait long. Lots of great drink options, almost every form of coffee you can imagine, and strawberry lemonade. He made fresh lemonade for me, and it was delicious! My fiancé really enjoyed his iced cappuccino. The owner there was very easygoing, he allowed us to make multiple alterations to our orders, such as I wanted my monte cristo crepe without the eggs in it and on the side, and to add sautéed onions. The pricing is the right spot, considering it's genuine, really tasty crepes. Honestly, this is top 3 of the best crepes I've had, and I only ever get ham and swiss crepe no matter where it is. He was very quick and efficient with making our food. Great place and experience, has some cool wall decor and I believe quiet jazz music playing. Has a little bar set up for stuff to add to your coffee. Highly recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely delicious. read more

I cant believe I lived down the street from Deville and never had a crêpe from there until I came back to new orleans on vacation years later. This is a cute little cafe located on magazine with wonderful crêpe and coffee options. I decided to make my own crêpe and filled it with nutella, strawberries and whipped cream. So delightful! On a recent trip to New Orleans we started in the Garden District and came across this restaurant. The crepes were amazing. We ended up getting two different crepes, The Surfer and The Lucy. The Surfer was a savory crepe filled with chicken, avocado, tomato, cheese and drizzled with a balsamic glaze while The Lucy was a sweet crepe filled with fresh strawberries, powdered sugar and house made amaretto custard. Okay this really should be 4 stars because the man running the show was eclectic but I'm going full 5 stars cuz if you get there at the right time you will get an amazeballs crepe! I say right time cuz some people after us were told to come back in a bit or wait a long while. I immediately understood what some of the reviews meant when I saw this in action. The guy in charge sort of reminded me of the Seinfeld "No Soup" guy. He wasn't exactly mean but he straight up told people what he could and couldn't do. He seemed to get a little overwhelmed when people started to come in. He was the only person working the place so I get it. It was completely fascinating to watch him give etas on when he could and couldn't get food made to the various people coming in. It wasn't a lot of people but I think he thought so. I was just glad I got there when I did and I got to eat one of his crepes. Cuz, they were darn good! I went savory and I'm glad I did as it was delicious! I wasn't acknowledged properly when I walked into the cafe. I was verbally attacked by a woman due to my religion and the owner/cashier never addressed nor defused the situation at all. I never received a proper apology nor did the owner/cashier make me feel like a valuable customer. The owner/cashier admitted afterwards that he knew the lady and she had a mental problem. I was left feeling extremely awkward and uncomfortable. I didn't feel safe in this place after this incident and I felt discriminated against. I do not recommend this place to anyone nor will I be returning back here. Also, the matcha latte I ordered was bland. read more

I don't know the name of the one dude that works here but DAMN DUDE. The crepe master here makes AMAZING stuff. His crepes are paper thin and exactly what they should be. My kids ordered the mocha and the Nutella banana, both of which were fantastic while hubs and I got the farmhouse and the Tuscan. He fell in love with his, so much so that I didn't even get one bite. My Tuscan was heavenly. Crepe master not only makes a mean crepe but also doesn't skimp on the fillings. My crepe was STUFFED with prosciutto. We're only in town for two days and my kids are already begging to go back for day two of crepes. read more

This has got to be the cutest, quaintest little coffee shops I have ever seen! Everything about it is charming. It even has the most eccentric, adorable little bathroom I have ever seen in a coffee shop. It is so tiny that I had to sit sideways on the pot, but I was laughing so hard the whole time that I did not mind. Jim is an extremely charming, very laid-back proprietor. The whole feeling of the place makes you want to slow down and relax. Magazine Street has such a quaint old historic French feel to it - so far, in my brief two weeks here in New Orleans, it is one of my favorite streets from end to end. Sitting outside at Jim's place - on a January New Orleans day that started quite cool, but now is turning nice in the warm sun - really made me exhale. Great place for breakfast. Well worth the shirt drive from Spanish Plaza. The Monte Cristo, Ninja, Strawberry crepes were delicious. I'm tempted to order another crepe...Nutella and Banana. They have the best lattes (by far...so much better than that SB latte I started my day with) of the many NOLA coffee shops...I've tried white a few over the last few days. There were two women ahead of me and only one person behind the counter so I did have a 15 minute wait before he could take my order/prepare my crepe as he had to finish completing their order. It's small in here and doesn't seem very well suited for large groups or even if you're in a rush. The menu offers dessert crepes as well as savory crepes. I got the Nutella and banana crepe and it was okay. I prefer my crepes to be a BIT crispy and this one was very soft. They offer outdoor seating as well which is nice since the restaurant is located on Magazine Street If you're familiar with other crepe places you'll know they sometimes place them in a holder to eat from, these are on a plate with a fork and knife.
