I've heard a lot about this place and I finally went. There is indoor and outdoor seating. My friend and I sat outside. They hsve an interesting menu. They were hosting a special limited time beverage with grapefruit as the primary flavor and negroni. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it? I ordered a ceasar salad. It wasn't what I expected. It is definitely their version of a ceasar salad but it was fresh and tasted good I just probably wouldn't order it again. I also ordered chips and guac. It was pretty standard issue. Had an annual HRW date with a friend. We invited two more girlies and wanted to have a cute dinner night. After HEAVY deliberation (there's so many options this year) we convinced them we should try graffiti raw. I'm so glad we did!! From the time I entered the energy was top tier. Full service from the threshold of the front entrance until we were literally back at valet. Staff and management here are so hospitable. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with each piece complementing another. Love the wall art in the restroom entrances as well as the light fixtures. Let's get to the food and drinks cuz that's why y'all are still reading . I'm on my 3rd alcohol cleans of the year so I have suggestions for the mocktail girlies as well! I enjoyed both the grapefruit spritz ~ sub grapefruit for watermelon and the chulita. The other ladies had the jacy, margarita, ruby red , and the collective. No complaints on any of them. We all started with the crispy calamari. The shishito peppers paired so well with seasonings and calamari was coated perfectly. Second course some of the ladies chose the ceviche combo, wiped their plates clean! I enjoyed the crab and shrimp fried rice. The sauce that comes with it really elevated the flavors. For the third course the linguini apps vongole took the win at the table. One of the ladies got the chicken schnitzel and while the chicken was prepared to her liking she still felt like something was missing. We closed out with the most perfect tres leches and a cheesecake for one. Before our food hit the table we already were discussing coming back for brunch. We tried graffiti raw for HRW and had an amazing time. The service was fantastic, quick, friendly and the most attentive we've had in a long time. The restaurant is beautifully decorated as well. We felt like the HRW was a great value - we tried the crispy tuna, fried rice, caviar and chips, calamari, linguine, cheese burger and vanilla bean cheesecake. Zero complaints about anything - it was all delicious! My mom first discovered this restaurant and wanted to try it with me. We had lunch reservations and were seated right away with no wait. Although the restaurant was not very crowded, the atmosphere was still very pleasant. The space is beautifully decorated, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but overall, I am unsure if the experience was strong enough to make me want to return. To start, my mom and I ordered the Crispy Calamari and the Charred Octopus. The octopus was easily the standout dish of our meal. It was incredibly tender and flavorful, and it paired well with the other components on the plate, including the crème fraîche, chili crunch, potato, and chorizo. A staff member also came by to cut the octopus for us and recommended that we eat it with everything on the plate, which elevated the experience. That said, I would have liked a bit more of the chimichurri to help brighten the dish and cut through the richness of the cream and potato. Unfortunately, the calamari was very average in comparison. While it was fried well in terms of color, the batter was overly thick and overwhelming, especially since the calamari itself was overcooked. The excessive batter made it tough and difficult to chew, to the point where it was hard to cut with a fork. The seasoning was good and the portion size was generous, but the texture ultimately took away from the dish. We also ordered the Angus Cheeseburger, though by the time it arrived, we were already quite full from the generous portions of the appetizers. We still gave it a try, but it was fairly ordinary. The bun was very soft and there was plenty of sauce, the fries were soggy, and while the smashed patties were cooked well, nothing about the burger stood out. Overall, while the service and ambiance were enjoyable, the food was inconsistent and did not fully justify a return visit. What a lovely place to dine at, especially if you enjoy sitting outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. The outdoor seating was nice, each table had umbrellas so you don't need to worry about catching too much sun. They play music that could be heard from outside. They offer a variety of cocktails and wines as well as brunch items during the weekend. They validate valet parking! So if you want free parking do not park in the garage across the street. To drink I got "The Perla" and a "Carajillo" both super delicious. The Perla is the perfect blend of pineapple and coconut. A creamy refreshing cocktail. The Carajillo was delicious! I'm very picky when it comes to Carajillos and this one was great! I approve! I love that rich coffee taste, the bartender killed it! For appetizers we ordered the Crispy Calamari and Crispy Rice & Tuna. The server did advise us that the Crispy Rice & Tuna is 2 bites, the size of two bites. I will say it's one bite max, super tiny for the price point. It was tasty and fresh but a little pricy for something so small. The Crispy Calamari was so good. I loved the dipping sauces that came with it. Both a lemon butter and oil, very delicious. The calamari was cooked to perfection and the flavors were amazing. For our entrées, we got "The Cure" which is a brunch menu item and an "Angus Cheeseburger" as well as a side of Brussels sprouts. The Cure is their carbonara spaghetti with breaded chicken. It was a nice surprise seeing the carbonara be prepared at our table. This dish was delicious. No complaints. I loved that the Angus cheeseburger was t smashed patties! The patties were cooked perfectly, they had that nice crispy edge that I love! And the Brussels sprouts were a 10/10, that perfect sweet and savory flavor I look when I eat Brussels sprouts! So good, all the food was really good. The service was great too. Our server was very attentive. Always checking up on us and making sure everything was good before leaving the table. At one point my friend had ordered an espresso martini with rum. She did not like the espresso martini. It tasted different than what we were accustomed to. We let the server know, and she gladly exchanged the drink. After exchanging the drink, the bartender advised her that they used the wrong type of rum for the espresso martini. Both the server and the manager came to our table to apologize for the mistake and didn't charge us for the drink, which I found to be great customer service on their end. I've had this place on my list for a while and was really looking forward to it. My server was from Scotland I think his name was Nick or sounded like Nick. He was so friendly and extremely enthusiastic. He read off the specials and they sounded delicious so I didn't bother with the menu. Maybe I should have explored the menu. The fall salad was really good spring leaves with butternut squash, dates, feta, pomegranate I think I might make this for thanksgiving. However the chicken was a disappointment the chicken was dry and had no seasoning. The rice was dry. A little sauce could have saved this dish. I came to Graffiti Raw on my esthetician's recommendation and I was not disappointed. We made outdoor reservations just in case and I suggest you do the same if it's a particularly beautiful day. We were already parked at the garage parking across the street so we walked from there although if you're lucky you could snag a street parking spot. The ambiance was beautiful indoor and most things I tried were tasty. The service was wonderful and the manager was nice to us. They also have a bunch menu from 10-4 on the weekends. Here are my thoughts on the food and drinks. Crispy Rice & Tuna $14 - 3/5 The flavor was fine, nothing new, but the portion was laughably small and was one bite. The waitress warned us that it was "two bites," but it was one piece we had to cut in half. For the price, I expected two individual pieces. Also, it's worth noting that this is under the "To share- All Day Menu".....Not worth it. Crispy Calamari $22 - 4.5/5 This was so good! I really like how they added fried green onion into the mix and the two sauces it came with complimented it very well. It came with a lemon creamy sauce and a lemon infused oil for dipping. Caramelized Brussel Sprouts $10- 4/5 These are a pretty solid choice. They were savory and came with caramelized onions as well. Didn't have that touch of sweet or crisp that I prefer on brussels but they were good. The Cure (brunch menu) $28- 4/5 This one was tasty and a fun experience as well because the waitress came and made the sauce at the table. I just wish the cutlet wasn't so dry and thin. Angus Cheeseburger $18- 4.8/5 This smash burger was juicy and flavorful. Almost on par with my favorite spot Burger Bodega. El Pepino $16- 3.7/5 It's what I expected from this drink. Nothing more nothing less. Refreshing cucumber margarita basically. Bloom $18- 4.5/5 This was so good! Definitely don't buy it if you aren't a fan of florals. Espresso Martini- 1/5 This was easily the worst thing I had. I asked for rum (I've had one before with rum and it was amazing), told the server to go with whatever rum the bartender recommends since I'd only had the drink once before. Now I know: always ask for dark rum. Hard to say if it was the white rum or their coffee base, but either way, it just didn't work. The manager came over and comped the drink because he had heard I didn't like it which was really nice but he explained that dark rum would have made it taste better so it turned out to be a learning lesson for me! This was my first time ever trying this restaurant! We came for brunch. It is super cute and open inside. I love that they offer carafes of mimosas inside of just singles. I had the Sunrise Sandwich and the Oysters, both of which were delicious and flavorful. I will add that I am usually not a fan of tator tots, but these were SO good and cooked to perfection. The bar doesn't have many seats and honestly not big enough to accommodate any waiting guests if their party is bigger than 2. Managers were not really handling much which was extremely frustrating when you've not been sat for your pre-booked reservation. We were continuously told it would only be a short while but each table only had drinks, no food. We saw two tables get cleared and two other parties were seated which added to the frustration. My neighbor asked me to dinner. After looking at the menu, I was sold when she mentioned Graffiti Raw. Upon getting there for Happy Hour at 5ish, we entered a dead restaurant. We decided to sit at the bar which was comfortable seating. The bartender was nice enough. I started with the La Perla which was a pina colda inspired drink. It was tasty. For appetizers, we did calamari along with ceviche. The ceviche was good. The calamari itself self was good along with the peppers. However this is where it started to be not so good. They added thick green onions also to the batter which are too big for one bite yet also near impossible to bite without tearing the whole thing out. Very awkward to eat and honestly not good. For the main course, I had been eyeing the Linguine Alla Vongole since glancing at the menu. The white clams came out a bit chewy. The pasta was saltier than the rim of my El Pepino. We had to send it back thinking it was a one off. However, unfortunately it wasn't. The second time the clams were better tasting but honestly disappointed. The bartender had emphasized that they were shifting away from the raw aspect of the menu so our season entree was the Sea Bass. Typically I am not a big cooked fish person, however, this was my favorite of the two. The pesto was supposed to be cilantro based. However, I didn't taste that thankfully. The crispy potato sides were decent. Overall after this visit, for the cost even at happy hour on things, I would pick somewhere else. The feel over the restaurant was nice and fresh. My wife and I drove into town to join in on a birthday dinner for a friend at Graffiti Raw. This was our first time eating here. We arrived on a Friday around 7 PM and we were surprised to find our 3 friends, including the birthday girl, seated outside in the dark. Our friend stated to us they had made a reservation, but for some odd reason they sat us outside. Our friend stated to us that management or the server had told them they were having issues with the exterior lights, which for us would make sense that they would seat us inside where we could actually see everything on the table in front of us. We could literally see so many vacant tables and chairs inside, it was so frustrating. Server was nice and mostly attentive with bringing our food, drinks and checking on us, but can't give them too many props for not advocating for their customers who would be tipping them at the end of the night. I'm pretty sure a manager even came out to check on us and apologized for the lack of lighting. You can even see my need for flash in my pictures of the food. Food-wise I ordered the Shrimp and Crab Fried Rice--it was okay. Definitely a little more spice than I was expecting. Don't believe it is worth the price it's sold for. I had been wanting to try this restaurant in the Montrose Collective area. I joined my friend here for brunch/lunch. I like the California cool ambiance and food theme. I ordered the chilaquiles omelette. I thought the tortilla chips stayed crispy despite the sauce. The egg was light and thin. I think it could've done without the extra salsa on top because the chilaquiles salsa was already tart. Then pair that with the dollop of sour cream, it was all around too acidic. If it was topped with a few slices of avocado, it could've balanced out the dish more. I ordered a side of crispy potatoes that were cut kind of homestyle in cubes. For $5, it wasn't worth it. The presentation wasn't great. It was greasy and also had a squeeze of what tasted like lime in it. All my dishes were too acidic/sour. The potatoes were also over and undercooked throughout. What I enjoyed the most was the mocktail called The Golden Hour. The green tea was refreshing, and the peach slice was nice and frozen. I was torn between that and the La Perlita which has pineapple and crème de coco. Actually I had told the server that I wanted the La Perlita, but she forgot I switched from the other. It was fine since I was open to trying either, and I enjoyed The Golden Hour. I think their mocktails are just as fancy as their cocktails and reasonably priced compared to most restaurants who up charge even though there's no alcohol. The chocolate hazelnut ice cream was also fantastic. It was rich but not overly sweet. I liked the chopped hazelnuts throughout. Perfect for a hot summer day in Houston. I wasn't blown away by the food quality that day and for those price points, but I would probably come back for the drinks and try something else from their lunch or dinner menu to give them a second try. read more

Calamari: I enjoyed it a lot. The seasonings weren't typical Italian. Kind of citrusy and very crispy. I enjoyed the butter lemon sauce. 4.5/5 Miso Caesar: this was surprisingly delicious. I love salty food but 4/5 of us got this dish and we all agreed that it was painful to eat. We asked for the manager because it was soo dang salty. They remade the dish for us but it was just as salty. The manager let us know that the head cook who made this dish didn't add any salt and that the clams were salty, but the thing is, if you have a lot of complaints about it, and the chef had made it right the first time, then they should have doctored it up to dilute the clam juice if they had to to control the salt levels. They could have offered for us to get something else instead of the same dish. Our sweet waitress brought out some cream and lemon to help salvage the dish for us. It made it edible but still with us doctoring it at the table it was super salty. 1/5. Chicken dish: nicely done. Crunchy, well seasoned, and the salad with arugula was a nice accompaniment. The potato on the dish was just a boiled potato but it didn't detract anything from the dish and was a side. 4.5/5. Dessert: Beet cake was delicious. 5/5. Tres leches: pretty good. Horchata rum flavor was strong. 4/5. We thought it was funny that they charged .75 cents per slice of bread. Started off with the calamari, oysters, and garlic shrimp. The calamari was a bit over fried but still good. The stare of the apps was the shrimp... the sauce it is glazed in was perfection. We split the crab & shrimp fried rice and the steak frites! The rice is the star of the show! That girl! The steak was also well seasoned and we asked to pair it with the sauce the garlic shrimp was made in and it was amazing! For dessert we had the tres leches and did not disappoint. Came here on a weekday during happy hour. Waiter was great, knowledgeable and said all the items I ordered were good and he wasn't lying! Everything came out pretty fast, the ambiance was nice. Cute brunch spot, their decor so pretty too, lots of windows for a nice scenery. --Raw Oysters (5/5) - Refreshing! Not too briny and their from the East coast which are the smaller oysters. The smaller ones are always the better ones. --Chips and Caviar (5/5) - Nice little savory appetizer, chips with creme fraise and caviar that was not too briny. --Roasted Oysters (4/5) - Big gulf coast oysters. Good but not much flavor just a creamy crunchy texture. --Ceviche Combo (4/5) - Some were a bit fishy too me, but the sauce sort of steered me off the fishy ness. --Linguine Alla Vongole (4/5) - Creamy pasta with clams, the sauce was a bit too watery to my liking but it was still good. Hints of spiciness to it --Crab and Shrimp Fried Rice (5/5) - Very flavorful, reminds me of a Thai style fried rice but a better version. I cannot get enough of Graffiti. I've been here numerous times between brunch, happy hour, and dinner, and the food never ever disappoints. Perhaps my favorite is coming for happy hour. They have such a good selection of food for their happy hour and it's smaller portions than the main entrees so you can try several things if you're 2 or more people. My favorites will always be the shrimp and crab fried rice, caviar and chips, and calamari. The drink selection for happy hour prices is a little limited, but the drinks they do offer for HH are good. Other food options you just try are the burger and the octopus for dinner, and the chicken with carbonara for brunch. Simply amazing! The service can be a little bit or miss sometimes. I've had excellent fast servers most times, but occasionally have had visits where it's slower to be helped and drinks and food take a bit of time. It's not a huge restaurant so if you're coming at a popular time I'd recommend a reservation. Terrible experience. Honestly, this was one of the worst dinners I've had in years. We came here for restaurant month, expecting something special after reading so many good reviews, but everything was a disaster. * Crispy calamari: hard, salty, and paired with a sour dipping sauce that was unpleasant. * Shrimp & crab fried rice: so salty it was practically inedible. * Pan-seared salmon: dry, bland, and served with wilted, sad-looking vegetables. * Dessert: the only thing that was remotely acceptable, and even that was nothing impressive. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We were a party of 5 with a 7pm reservation. Upon arrival, we were surprised by how small the restaurant was. The host stand is cramped and awkwardly positioned, forcing guests to stand in the middle of the restaurant, blocking both the entrance and exit. Although we arrived on time, we were told our table wasn't ready yet. The host suggested we wait at the bar, but it was completely full. With no designated waiting area, we ended up standing over diners, which felt intrusive and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, a waiter repeatedly walked between us, even though he could have easily taken another route. It felt like we were being nudged to wait outside. We were offered frozen margaritas while waiting, which initially seemed like a nice gesture - until we realized we'd be holding them the entire time without a place to sit. We waited 40 mins, watching other parties get seated ahead of us. While we understand weekends and Houston Restaurant Weeks can be busy, the staff should have been upfront about delays. A simple apology or honest update would have gone a long way. Eventually one of us asked the host how much longer it would be. His response: "Maybe 30 mins, but you never know." When asked why we even made a reservation, he had no answer. The managers nearby didn't step in to offer any assistance, which made it seem like they weren't actively managing the situation. After nearly an hour, we left without ever being seated. Unfortunately, this completely messed up our evening plans. We didn't have a back up reservation (because why would one be needed if you booked a reservation in advance), and every other nearby restaurant was fully booked until 10:30pm. It was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Suggestions for Improvement: - Stop overbooking reservations - Limit walk-ins on busy nights - Create a proper waiting area - Train staff to communicate delays honestly and respectfully I do NOT recommend this restaurant for larger parties. The atmosphere inside was also super cute and inviting. Huge shoutout to Davis -- he was amazing, attentive, and really turned a standard happy hour into a great experience. This new spot in the Montrose Collective is so aesthetic but also so delicious! I came here for a gorls dinner and it did not disappoint. For drinks, I got the Lustre Pearl, which reminded me of piña colada and I wanted to finish the whole thing! We got the roasted oysters to share, and this was so tasty with chipotle butter, parmesan, and breadcrumbs. Also the oysters were huge! For the main, I got Linguine Alla Vongole, which was with white clams, and it was so flavorful and garlicky despite having chili in it, it wasn't spicy at all, which was great for me since I'm bad with spicy food ): I finished everything with their beet cake, which reminded me of carrot cake but BEET.
