Dined in and had the cheeseburger which surpassed my expectations. I wasn't sure how well the mozzarella would pair with the meat and LTP, but it was finger licking good! The sweet potato fries were fresh and you also get a 20% discount if you work at the Galleria. Sweet deal and great customer service!! Ambiance is quiet and tranquil. Came here over the weekend to grab some food with the family and I was very impressed by this place. The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the appetizer steak quesadilla as my meal. It was very tasty and extremely generous portions. They really filled the quesadilla up with steak, the steak was very tender which is always a plus. My husband ordered the BLTA chicken club sandwich with a side of sweet potato wedge fries. He loved his entire meal. He's not normally a fan of sweet potato fries but he gave it a shot and was not disappointed, they were some of the best we'd ever had. My daughter got the Mascarpone French Toast. This was the star of the table! She finished the entire plate (which she never does). Me and my hubby both took a bite and we all agreed these were some of the best french toast we've ever had! The sauce was perfection and the toast was nice and fluffy. Service was great and the atmosphere was nice and chill, which was a great getaway from all the hustle from the mall. I am GF and I ordered the Tony's guilt free bolognese which is described as GF due to its spaghetti squash. I get it and start eating but before I swallow my first bite, I realize its just linguine so I spit it out. They never said anything to us about it not being GF. My sister was mad so she called them and they said they didn't have the spaghetti squash so they just used the pasta. That morning I ordered food for bfast. They said it would be ready by 9:15. Nice location in the Galleria. Pretty quiet and wasn't busy on a Saturday night. They have a fantastic Yelp deal for $10 off an entree with the purchase of an appetizer or dessert. Food: We started off with the local salumi cheese board. The taste was pretty bland and overall unexciting. For the entree, my friend and I both had the Allen's Fried Chicken. The chicken was the best part of the dish.. very crispy and moist. It had a delightful pecan smoked bacon gravy on top. The cheesy truffle Mac was cheesy, but lacked even a hint of truffle flavor. The jalapeño-bacon jam needed more of a kick to really elevate this dish. My other friend had the Green Tea Lacquered Salmon. It was beautifully plated and perfectly cooked. She finished her entire plate. For dessert, I had the Smore's Bread Pudding. It was delicious! My friend had the Pineapple Upside Down Waffle and seemed to enjoy it. Service: The reason why I docked 3 stars. Service was one of the worst I have ever experienced. It was extremely slow. My friend has a nut allergy, so she alerted our server of this. Our server forgot to check if the cheese board had nuts, forgot to tell the chef to leave off the pecan gravy, and had no idea that the Smore's bread pudding had nuts. Nut allergies are very serious, and this is unacceptable. In addition, our server rarely checked on us and never filled up our empty water glasses for the entire 2 1/2 hours that we were there until we asked him to. Overall, food is decent. I definitely wish I would have seen the Yelp deal for $10 off an entree with purchase of an appetizer/dessert. The food, service, and ambiance are not worth it for the price you pay. The restaurant can be accessed from inside the Galleria Mall, which is convenient if you're needing some energy before shopping again. The only window seats face directly into the mall though, so it's really not the best view and also takes away from the upscale vibe the restaurant is trying to go for. With how bad service was though, I would never even think to classify this place as an upscale establishment. There were only 2 other parties when we arrived, yet there was no one at the hostess stand and it took over 10 minutes for water to arrive. We had 4 people at our table that could seat 6 and our waiter accidentally brought us 5 waters - I'm not even sure what the thought process was here. My boyfriend drank his water as well as the extra. When the waiter came by, he only refilled one glass and didn't remove the extra. Again not sure what the thought process was here. Food took a ridiculous amount of time to come out and was hardly worth the wait. The only menu item I will praise is the zucchini fries - somehow among all the lackluster food, they produced something I would bother going back for. My spicy seafood linguini was a plain tomato sauce with red chili flakes like the kind you get for free with your pizza and the salmon on top was dry like it was pan fried to death and reheated. read more

This is a hard 3, almost 4 because of the bathroom situation. You see, you have to actually exit the restaurant, turn left go into the hotel bathroom and HOPE beyond hope it's clean. I don't know if I just happened to pick the ickiest bathroom stall of all time, but let me tell you I lysoled my shoes when I got home and my car. After eating I went straight to the Bath and Body Works store in the galleria to rewash my hands. No one in my friend's party had hand sanitizer to save their life. Alcohol - I'd probably skip it. I ordered what should have been an interesting jalapeno margarita, but got a slightly stronger version of the blueberry mojito (both drinks required blueberries). You could barely taste the jalapeno, so I was disappointed. It was drinkable, but didn't match the description in the menu. If you do plan on drinking here, skip the signature cocktails and go for straight bourbon, whiskey, or whatever your preference is. If necessary, add coke. Food - I can't tell you what type of restaurant this was. It had some Asian dishes. Latino dishes. Some organic for no reason dishes. However, I enjoyed my meal. The calamari was scrumptious. With the wide variety it would seem you have a lot of choices, but it also felt limited, because if you're not into those other cuisines you're stuck with the options they do have. I ended up ordering the shrimp spaghetti. The calamari on top made up the shrimp part, because shrimp spaghetti just sounds gross to me. The service was good, I had no problem their. Their were some people in my party that were being weird for no reason or lacked social skills, but still the waiter handled them gracefully, though you could tell the poor guy was getting irritated. I don't blame him though. Half the table needed to leave early. The ones left behind-me and three others were going to enjoy our meal, because seeing a musical after paying for this meal didn't sound like fun. Most musicals, actually don't sound like fun, and plus I had the mission of finding a place to wash my hands. (Note, the bathroom door was one you had to pull---gross--and there were no napkins. So with the gross stall, I had to touch the door, too? Can you understand the germaphobe crisis I experienced?) I'd probably highlight the seafood recommendations, because those were generally agreed to be the best in my group. I don't think shrimp spaghetti is that good, but the calamari makes up for it. The garlic bread on the side you can skip. See if they'll just add more calamari instead. It was an interesting place to try, but probably not a place I'd come back to anytime soon. read more

I had to flag someone down twice. The zucchini frites are too big , so they were limp and soggy. The cup was full of oil at the bottom. They might taste better with marinara. The seafood linguini has a good flavor and a little kick, but the seafood was not fresh. The shrimp tasted frozen and the fish was dried out and very fishy. Ask for extra Parmesan cheese. read more

Hostess was great; checked me in and seated me as soon as I walked in. My waiter was no where to be found; I sat and waited for 10 minutes with no waiter--eventually I signaled a different waiter from another section just so I could place my order. I honestly contemplated walking out but opted against it as my hostess was so kind and I was famished. The waiter issues seems to be of the norm because the table next to me also had to call for a random waiter minutes after being seated to place their order. I ordered the watermelon lemonade which was mostly water melon juice (don't get me wrong; it was a freshly squeezed juice that tasted like watermelons) with no taste of lemonade. For my entree, I opted for the chicken and shrimp pad Thai. It was cooked and served to me within 20 minutes. The chicken (which was ground) wasn't consistent with the chunks of shrimp it was mixed with in my personal opinion. The sauce for the pad Thai was overwhelmingly nutty. It was more of a peanut curry taste rather than pad Thai sauce. And although it was edible and tasted nice it wasn't pad thai sauce. With that said perhaps this isn't the best restaurant to try out Thai food especially if you're reading this and new to it. Go for a more contemporary American dish. I'd hate for you to judge Thai food based on a dish at an American Contemporary restaurant. read more

We came here with a group after work. We made reservations and they had a nice table.set up for us. There were two other tables, with one couple each, in the restaurant and our table of 12. It took forever for us to be served our drinks, with the waiter disappearing for a very long period of time between drink orders. One of our group is gluten-free due to an allergy and she requested their gluten free menu, which they no longer had now since they switched to a new menu two days prior. When asked what they gluten free options were, our waiter had no clue and did not offer to ask for assistance with other staff or the chef. He told us to decided what she wanted and he would say if it was gluten free or not. Seriously?! We tried comparing the new menu to the ones posted online that DID have gluten-free options, but most of the items were altered. We did our best and made sure he wrote down that she was allergic so the food would be prepared correctly. Our food took newrly an hour after ordering to come out and, while it was very good and filling, the wait was agonizing on a day with so very few people present. One order was missing and we had to inform.him that it was missing instead of him noticing that one of our group had no food. Our waiter did not refill water unless requested and had to be flagged down in order to receive our bill. For such a nice restaurant in a fancy mall, the service was severely lacking. I would not recommend coming here when it is crowded if it took this long for us to be served when we were basically the only ones there. The decor and setting of the restaurant was great and the food was good, which is the only reason it got this many stars. read more

I had brunch at White Oak yesterday and it exceeded my expectations! I had some time to kill at the mall, so my co-workers and I decided to try this place out. I'm so glad we did because we all enjoyed our meals. I had the Southern Sliders and my goodness they were good. The fried chicken was just a tad salty, but so flavorful! It had gruyere cheese, pickles, and vitamin slaw (not sure what the difference is between regular cole slaw and vitamin slaw but whatever). It came with three sliders and a choice of truffle fries or sweet potato fries. I opted for truffle fries. The fries were just as tasty (but a little salty) as the sliders! I ate everything on my plate! I was really hungry but the flavor was just so good. Even if I hadn't been as hungry, I would have found a way to eat it all because it was that good! The service was great. The staff was very nice. I didn't have any drinks, but I'm sure their specialty drinks are good too. I don't go to the Galleria very often, but I may start going out there more often so I can try some of their other dishes and enjoy a cocktail or two. read more

This is the completely remodeled restaurant where Zucchini's used to be. The old restaurant was in a desperate need of renovation and I'm glad to see that this newly designed restaurant is quite pretty. The whole place is modern, with beautiful decor, tables, and chairs. There is a bar when you walk in that has lots of goodies you can purchase to snack on as well as a large TV. The problem with this place is, it is part of the hotel and it acts like it. The service is mediocre and so is the food. We had to ask for absolutely everything from bread, refills, our check, etc... Our waitress wasn't busy as no one was in the Galleria on a Saturday night. I don't know why she was so inattentive. Our food was ok. My husband enjoyed his turkey burger and my chicken sandwich was just ok. My mom liked her mahi mahi, but overall the place isn't worth my time. Being in the Galleria at dinner time doesn't have to mean a bad meal. There are some decent places with decent service in the Galleria (Nordstrom Cafe Bistro and The Daily Grill), so don't settle. read more

This place is a joke. came in Saturday at like 3:30 and it wasn't even 1/4 full. They asked if we had a reservation and were given the side eye when we said no. Alright, whatever. Sat us in the back. Someone came by asking for our drink order a few minutes later. My bff asked if they had ginger ale (almost certainly did with the bar) but the guy didn't know and said he'd ask and come back - a simple walk to the bar would have solved this, but no, he disappeared. A couple minutes later another person asked for our drink order and we said we'd ordered and she disappeared as well. We perused the incredibly tiny menu... It was surprising considering this is a sit down place with a decent chunk of real estate. Another 5 minutes pass and no sign of wait staff. At this point we cut our losses and leave. There is no reason to wait 10+ minutes for a drink order or to even see if they have a drink when the restaurant is near ghost town. Couple that with the snotty hostess, one star. Y'alls restaurant has nice decor and who knows if the food is good, but you have to be able to order to find out. read more

located inside the galleria, great spot to get away from the crowd, inside its calm, cool & collected. it has a cozy feel with nice music. ordered the strip steak & bolognese along with a grapefruit bomb & baked pear for drinks for a total of $96. the steak itself was tender & juicy, i wish it would've been buttered a little more but when paired with A1 sauce it tasted amazing, the sides were steamed veggies, very flavorful & potatoes wedges topped with baked potato ingredients, the mushrooms & onions had a wine taste to them that i wasn't too crazy about. the bolognese pasta was delicious, had a perfect amount of marinara & beef with a taste of parmesan cheese in every bite, highly recommend. the grapefruit bomb is a great refresher drink if you are more into fruity drinks & the baked pear has a good taste of cognac with a hint of pear & mint. the employees were polite & friendly, each one with a smile. read more

On initial glance, White Oak Kitchen + Drinks seems like an awesome spot. It's located in the Galleria albeit a little hard to find. It's tucked in the corner on the second floor close to The Westin, Neiman Marcus, and Starbucks. Took us a little while to figure out where to find it as it's not front and center close to other restaurants. It looks great with fancy and trendy decor. They have happy hour until 8 PM on both food and drinks which is a big win in my book. Most restaurants offer a happy hour until 6, 6:30, or, 7. That's too early. Props to White Oak for extending things until 8. They also don't force you to sit at the bar to enjoy happy hour specials like some restaurants do which is unnecessary​. Unfortunately, the food doesn't deliver. We shared the shaking beef entree off the dinner menu and several appetizers. Several strips of beef on a bed of lettuce and tomatoes. No real side dish came with this entree. The beef was lukewarm and there wasn't a lot of it. The apps we ordered were the zucchini​ frite, the calamari​, and the mac & cheese. All of the apps came off of the happy hour menu and they had 10 or so choices so a good selection. The zucchini was breaded and fried, a nice dish. The mac and cheese was decent and had bacon and toasted bread which was a nice touch. The calamari, on the other hand, was some of the worst I've had. There was too much breading which overpowered the calamari and made it taste like fried breading rather than calamari. We hit with two of our four dishes, so White Oak batted 50% from what we tried. Service was nice. All beers on happy hour were $3 for both domestic and imported brews which is a good deal. read more

A friend was visiting in town, and we wanted to go somewhere for a good brunch. After reserving this restaurant, I didn't realize that it was in the middle of the Galleria. Now listen carefully, don't make the same mistake I did which was park at Saks 5th Avenue and run down the walkways of the galleria to get to your reservation on time. This restaurant is near Neiman Marcus and if you park at the WESTIN OAKS to come here, the valet is complimentary. Now onto the space, I was surprised when I walked into the restaurant because I honestly didn't feel as though I was in the actual mall, that I was in this quaint cafe somewhere along the sea. All the colors are bright and happy and everyone is welcoming you to come in and dine. Now for the weekend brunch, the Bloody Mary is one of the best I've ever had, very savory and just a tad bit spicy. I also sampled your standard mimosa and they offer Starbucks brewed coffee because I needed all of the beverages! I shared the truffle cheese mac which melted in your mouth, with bits of bacon to top it off, and the Bison Truffle Burger which is topped with avocado, arugula, and walnut basil pesto. The arugula was incredibly fresh! It made me feel like eating this big ole burger was extra healthy! It came with crisp sweet potato fries that my friends kept snatching. Aka they were really good! White Oak Kitchen is a pretty decent restaurant. Interesting experience in that everything was good but I don't think I'll be back soon. No "wows" but staff, food, and drinks all passed the muster. Met a friend here for drinks and we ended up getting food. He had the lamb burger and I ordered zucchini fries and parmesan truffle fries. I would definitely recommend ordering a few dishes and sharing! Portion sizes were surprisingly huge and we ended up wasting a lot. I must add the white truffle oil fries didn't have that cloyingly accrid aftertaste to them and were delightful. The drinks were appropriately strong and refreshing. Haven't even received my food yet but I'm already impressed. I'm vegan/vegetarian and the waiter was able to put something together for me. I didn't know what I wanted and he was able to make adjustments to a breakfast item to make it work for me. One recommendation for the owner.. continue offering the juices (they're delicious) and maybe add a note letting folks know how vegan friendly you are. I would recommend this place.
