Have always had the best experiences here with my vehicles. I trust them and they're very honest. Will continue to be a customer!

There were all sorts of scams and unnecessary repairs including: 1. Leading Edge replaced the front brakes at 119k miles and then again at 130k miles. Brakes again after 11k!! Front brakes should last at least 40k miles, usually more like 60-70k. 2. Leading Edge replaced the lower control arms at 116k and again at 146k. Control arm bushings last at least 100k miles. If you need control arms again at 30k, either the parts were junk or the alignment wasn't done right. 3. Leading Edge charged labor to replace both the serpentine belt and the alternator. You have to remove the belt to remove the alternator, so an honest shop wouldn't charge for the belt when doing the alternator. To charge full price for both is outrageous. 4. Leading Edge charged $250 to replace the radiator and $174 to replace the radiator hoses. You have to remove the hoses to replace the radiator. Here again, it's a rip off to charge labor for both. 5. Leading Edge charged $475 labor (just labor!!) to install tires, clean the beads, and replace one TPMS. $60-120 is typical at most shops for all this work, especially if you are buying tires from them. $475 for tire installation is probably the most outrageous repair scam I've ever seen.

Service: 10/10 My primary contact was Mike, however I spoke with many other staff in person and over the phone over the course of a week after I had my Crosstrek towed in with a destroyed transmission system. Everyone was courteous, helpful, and responsive. The new transmission they procured was practically brand new and installed professionally. The experience they provided me as a customer was as excellent as the final bill and they are now my go-to shop for transmission and suspension work. Thus, I strongly recommend this business. When I had my car towed in, it was after hours, but conveniently they had an overnight key/car drop off system that was secure and easy. The lobby was clean, organized, and offered free cold water.

Had my vehicle being serviced at local mechanic and they notified me that the PTU (Power Transfer…read moreUnit) that is part of transmission on all-wheel drive vehicles was leaking badly and needed to be replaced. They did not work on transmissions and advised me to take it to a transmission repair shop. Called the Ford dealership and they told me to replace it would run around $3300. For comparison I called some transmission shops and got ahold of County Transmissions and spoke with Hampton. He told me that it would run $2300 including labor if it needed to be replaced. They had good reviews so I decided to take it to them and save the $1000. Took it there on a Monday and Hampton told me they would have it done in several days. By Friday had not heard from anyone so I called them and was told that it was next in line to be looked at which would be the following Monday. My vehicle had been there five days and had not been looked at. On the following Monday, Hampton called me and said that it did need to be replaced and to replace it would run $3200. This was $1000 more than $2300 as he had initially told me and about the same as what the dealership would charge. Mentioned this to him and he said that the $2300 was for a used PTU that they would get from a salvaged vehicle, and a new one was $3200. He had not told me this when I first called and I had of course assumed the initial quote of $2300 was for a new one. Didn't even know they would consider putting a used one a vehicle because how would you know it didn't have issues. In light of this new information and for the fact I feel it was a bait-and-switch, I decided to take my vehicle to the Ford dealership and have them do the repair. The dealership's warranty on the PTU was much better and I know am getting a genuine Ford part. With an independent shop am probably getting a cheap aftermarket part. If I moved to another city or say was traveling and had an issue with it, I could take my vehicle to any Ford dealership and they would honor the warranty. If County Transmissions had done the work, then I was out of luck. Had to take an Uber back to County Transmissions and pick-up my vehicle and then take it to the Ford dealership. This costs another $50 on top of the $50 Uber charge had already incurred when I took my vehicle there and had to take an Uber to get back home as I live far from them. I opened up my SmartTag GPS tracking app as had placed an Android SmartTag GPS tracking device inside the vehicle awhile back. Was very surprised to see my vehicle had been driven around Vienna and appeared they were using it to run errands as it was stopping at various locations. So in the end I was out $100 in Uber fees, they had my vehicle for a week and nothing was done after Hampton telling me they would get to it in several days, plus they apparently used it to run errands. I would certainly not recommend this company in light of everything that happened. Note: Saw that Hampton had posted a rebuttal on my initial review where he states that the initial quote was an estimate to repair the PTU, but this is not true. The PTU is something that is replaced, not repaired, and he gave me a quote of $2300 to REPLACE the PTU. Plus they didn't need to be driving it around to determine where the leak was coming from since it was obviously leaking when I took it in and it had to be replaced. When I called him on Friday he said they hadn't looked at it yet; however they had been driving it around before that Friday. He mentions that they have a shuttle service and I asked about this but was told it didn't go to where I live.

The journey of a thousand miles, starts with one step. As soon as I stepped into the showroom...ok,…read morethe lobby, which looked like a showroom, I was treated like a "Valued Customer"...you know the words. Lots of businesses use them, but Holabird Tire and Auto means it. I'm talking from the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a man who looked at me when I came in and actually said hello. That may not seem like a big deal to you, but how many times have you gone someplace and the person sitting there, didn't even acknowledge you? It's like you don't exist. I don't like being treated that way. I knew I made the right choice to bring my vehicle to them. They give a darn about the customer. I was happy as a lark because I knew I was going to get quality service...and that's in just the words: "Hello. How can I help you"? Everything was neat and orderly. No grease all over the place or abandoned auto parts everywhere. No ripped upon chairs with duct tape on them. And trust me, on my journey to find a decent auto repair shop, I've seen some real sloppy and disgusting places. Once, a "mechanic" lost his tools at a place I visited. Couldn't find them anywhere and once he did that, I had to leave. The only reason I stayed as long as I did was because it was raining and I couldn't get my umbrella to open up fast enough. Plus, the proprietor promised deep discounts. Well, cheap is definitely CHEAP! No thanks. Let me continue with the showroom...um, lobby. It was very nicely laid out. Awesome rims & tires were on display in a nice/arrangement. There were very comfortable padded chairs. Not the old fashioned metal fold ups...you know the ones. They grab you-um- where you try to sit. Painful, indeed. At Holabird Tire & Auto, you don't have to worry about that. They even have a nice table and chair set for the future car owners...they have their own little table, complete with toys for them to play with. It definitely helps keep the little drivers from driving you crazy. Gives them something to do while mom and dad wait. Oh yeah, I almost forgot-there's coffee for those who may need or want an eyeopener. To top it off, there's a pinball machine in the showroom...ok, lobby. I'll get the hang of that sooner or later. I'm not even kidding. It's great! Here's where the rubber meets the road-YOU CAN'T BEAT THE SERVICE. When the tech took my auto in to diagnose the problem, I had every confidence that I would be given the straight story...not a lot of word salad and untruths just to jack up the price. I am so thankful because without their help, I would have been stranded on the road somewhere cursing and crying. Holabird Tire and Auto gives quality service, not lip service. They respect the customer and they keep their clientele informed. Rather than shove things at you to pressure you in to getting high dollar things done, they give you the information, explain in detail and let you decide. Oh, and before I forget...everything that is brought in the shop on any day, is fixed and out the door the same day. HELLO!! Can you beat that? NO!! I could rave on and on, but I have to say, the value is beyond compare. They even do small things that you don't ask for but they know will help your vehicle remain healthy--yes! I said healthy. After all, Holabird Tire and Auto are like doctors. Whatever is wrong with your baby, they'll cure it. Take your car there when you need it to be serviced. I promise you, you won't be disappointed. I am certainly grateful for the great job they've done for me on my little "Silver Fox" - ok, dramatic...but it's my silver Subaru. I love the way they took care of it. And who am I kidding. At the age of 70, I doubt if I'll be getting another vehicle anytime soon. So, I've gotta keep this one running. They are on speed dial for whenever I need anything done to my Forester. I've already told my daughter, Desiree' and her two girls, Ashley and Alexis not to take their cars anywhere other than Holabird Tire and Auto for anything they need done to their cars. They always listen to me...you should too. BTW ladies...the restroom is awesome. No dirty, nasty, stinky facility. It's very nicely decorated, and extremely clean. Smells good &well, it's really pretty. Check it out y'all - Holabird Tire and Auto (*Now let me tell you what I really think - they're the best in the business)!

As a single woman and a…read moremother, it can be really hard to find a mechanic you can trust without feeling like you're being taken advantage of. Unfortunately, that has been my experience more times than I'd like to admit. The first shop I called gave me a bad feeling right away based on their customer service, but I still made an appointment. Afterward, I checked their Yelp reviews and was shocked by how many negative ones they had. That didn't sit right with me, so I decided to get a second quote. I already had a good idea of what was wrong with my car based on past experience. When I called this shop, the difference was immediate. They were professional, respectful, and didn't argue with me or try to upsell me on unnecessary repairs. I specifically looked for negative reviews--and there were none. I dropped my car off early that morning, and they gave me a clear time estimate for when it would be ready. They even sent photos of the issue. While I didn't fully understand what I was looking at, the fact that they were transparent enough to share images--knowing I could easily research them--told me everything I needed to know about their honesty. I don't remember the technician's name, but they took great care of my foreign car, Lexi, and I'm beyond relieved not to be driving around with grinding rotors anymore. I truly appreciate their professionalism and the way they treated me as a customer. Every single mother needs a mechanic she can feel safe with--and I'm so grateful I found one. Thank you all for your help.

Siwan ensured to explain every step and why certain things were required/recommended. Additionally, he ensured to show me how the cost was calculated (we all know car repairs can be pricey but he also makes sure that you know where your money is going!) I will definitely be taking my car back when additional services are needed!
