This place is such a good spot for a taste of a home cooked meal. The chicken friend chicken was good. There was a little bit of extra breading but it wasn't bad ! Burger was a little over cooked but it had some good flavor to it ! Service was fast! The restaurant was updated with valentines decor but needed some over all slight upgrades and cleaning.. the store attached had the cutest band bags and shirts and shoes.. a little pricy though! I definitely recommend to give this place a try!

After cruising the highways and byways of Guadalupe County, I've stumbled upon this quaint little cafe a few times. The few times I have driven by, my timing has always been off. Well today, by golly, I decided to stop in and give this place a try. Upon walking in, you are first steered through a store with clothing, souvenirs, and miscellaneous knick knacks. After walking through said store, you are directed to seat yourself in their small dining area. So, we picked a seat to our liking, and got comfy. The dining room was packed with hard working farmers, one waitress taking drink orders, and one waitress taking food orders. The wait to order our drinks was a bit excessive, and the we almost considered walking out before waiting a long time to order our food. We were eventually greeted by a friendly young lady, and we placed our order. We ordered the bottle caps as an appetizer, then I ordered the fried pork chops with a baked potato and buttered corn. I was very excited about the fried chops, as you cannot find them many places. The wife ordered chicken strips (how boring, right?). My mother in law ordered the chicken fried steak. We received the bottle caps in good time and everyone at the table enjoyed them. My fried pork chops were decent. Not bad, but not as good as mom's. They were good enough to where I would get them again. The wife was not a fan of the chicken strips, as they looked frozen like the ones in the freezer section at HEB. The breading was also way too excessive. She said she will not be getting them again. The waitress also did not bring the fixings for the baked potatoes. My mother in law's chicken fried steak looked delicious, hanging over the plate, and she did not have any complaints. I do believe next time I will try the chicken fried steak. After receiving our check, we walked up to the front to pay the bill. The young lady behind the register apologized for the longer than usual wait. She explained that they were busier than usual, and they had a problem getting more staff today. She explained she called the boss and requested back up to help with the hungry crowd. The boss wished them "good luck" and decided to stay at home. To that, I say to the boss, "good luck" convincing me to give you more than three stars on this review. This easily was a four star visit, however, the poor service knocked it down a star. Your staff was very polite, and I gave my waitress the benefit of the doubt and tipped her accordingly, and more than I should have. Your "good luck" wishes were not going to cost this overworked young lady! I will give this place another try. The wife says she probably will not return. I would recommend this place to anyone passing by. But I would not recommend going out of your way for it. Enjoy!

    Nasty looking chicken fried steak

Our server Jessica was delightful. Food was absolutely horrible. Hamburger steak had a foul taste even the instant gravy couldn't cover. Green beans looked weeks old . Mushrooms were straight from the freezer and left a watery greasy mess on our plates. Zero flavor. Cheap styrofoam plates , ketchup is watery cheap Sysco brand . Way to expensive to serve cheap condiments and disposable plates. I'm not on a picnic. We arrived at 10:20 expecting breakfast, was told breakfast was over already because the place was empty. Well I can see why . You can't change a premium price serving instant frozen Sysco food with no flavor.

Just had the most delicious breakfast found this quaint little country store that serves breakfast and lunch. Loved the atmosphere we will be back to try lunch next! Friendly staff and the owner's daughter is an Aggie! Doesn't get any better than that!

Me and my family went here for my sister's memorial birthday. We never ate there before, but we decided to try it out. First off, the service was ok. We waited a very long time for our food. We waited at least 40 minutes for food. The food wasn't even the best. I ordered cheese fries, and they were the worst cheese fries I've ever eaten at a restaurant. They were HARD, and the cheese was so melted in a microwave that the cheese was burnt to the lining, and all of them were stuck together. On a scale of 1-10, the cheese fries were a 1 or 2. I would NOT recommend the cheese fries. The main food was ok. My dad didn't like his squash casserole. he or my mom didn't eat theirs. My sister and sister in law liked the onion rings. My fries were good. The burgers were ok on a scale of 1-10. I'd say my food was a 3 or 4. Now the atmosphere of this place was so nice. It was welcoming, family oriented, and very relaxed. All in all. I don't think I'd be going back here.

My husband and I stopped in to try as we just moved to the area and this place is one of the only places to eat near by. We weren't greeted right away but the service was good. I really love the hometown feel it gives off. You can tell it's where the locals go. My husband ordered the seafood plate and I ordered the burger and fries. Both were great! The fries were light and crispy and the catfish and hush puppies were on point. We will definitely be back

All the spots in houston and Schulze's bbq is up there with any of them if not the best! I'm starting to wonder if Texas monthly is even a legit thing. Because this place could easily be number one. I'm surprised I've never heard of them because this is some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Some of the best customer service too! I'm so glad I stopped in. This will be my go to every single time when I'm in Seguin, Texas. Food: everything was phenomenal! The brisket was made to perfection absolutely some of the best brisket I've ever had. The jalapeño sausage, I've never had a jalapeño sausage that good! The cheese was bursting out of the seam! The tater salad oh my God! Talk about a blast from the past if you're from Houston Texas, and remember the old Heights camp house BBQ, you will remember they had Camp house potatoes. They tasted exactly the same wow I was so happy to try that because I never thought I'd have a dish like that again in my life. The brisket rice was OK. I probably would get something else. The banana pudding was phenomenal. This is some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Easy five star review! The customer service was great. The line moved quickly and everyone was extremely nice. I will go out of my way to come here and get barbecue every single time when I'm at Seguin, Texas. This should be on Texas monthly, this should be on everyone's radar if you love barbecue! The dining room was very clean. Staff very nice. You can tell they are trying to learn the craft of Texas bbq. The staff don't seem to be in communication with each other. I saw some white lady that just looked angry behind the counter I'm assuming is the owner. Now, I did have VERY high expectations for this place because I have been a long time follower of 90 West barbecue since they first began. I know Jesus and Robin moved to this location. With that said I had high hopes the food would have came along with them, which by visual plating, and taste it absolutely did not. I honestly felt them two would have easily been brought this place on the top 50 bbq list and that got me so excited to make the drive out to try it. I did ask for Jesus but they said he was off when we went by. That surprised me they always work! Haha I don't know if he will see this review since he is a manager but Jesus your very talented man with a heart of craft bbq we know your worth, your bbq was killer. I pray someone will give you a partnership to begin your own restaurant location you will do just fine back in San Antonio and we will be right there with you and Robin.
