On this occasion I tried this place "Cowboy Palace". I tried this place maybe a year or so ago and it wasn't that great. But I've heard from coworkers and friends recently that it's gotten better, so I wanted to give them a second chance. Upon entering I noticed that there is plenty of amount of room for seating. They happily take you to your seat. During the week I noticed they have daily specials, so I got the Chicken Fried Steak and it comes with a salad and another option and I chose the fries. The meal was delicious, cooked just right and a good portion for a midday meal. The service was excellent, brought the meal on a timely manner the drink was filled quickly. So if you haven't tried Cowboy Palace it's a great option if you are nearby. read more

Good food and good service. We go often. They have daily specials. We usually try different dishes when we visit.

The broccoli was bland. The shrimp was overcooked. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out well done. The kid at the table behind me screamed like she was being beaten. So why the 5*? Because I finished the steak and it was incredible. The juiciest, most tender and flavorful well done steak I've ever eaten. The shrimp had a really good unique flavor. A little salt made the broccoli edible. But the service was amazing! The 2 young men working were waiting on 5 other tables, refilling all the salt and pepper shakers and refilling the salad bar. They were pleasant and professional. I would come back just for the service. And besides, if the food was that messed up and still that good... imagine what it would be like when they get it right! Don't be deceived by the location or looks. This is the real deal!! From the small but perfect salad bar to the outstanding prices for a meal. I was hesitant when I drove up and even going to sit down I felt I had maybe made a bad choice. There were two young men waiting tables and cashiering. I had really made my mind up. This place is solid gold. I had grilled pork chops with baked potato. Home run. My spouse had the regular chicken fry and mashed potatoes. The thing is huge and homemade. The Cowboy Palace is one of those old school restaurants lacking frills or modern decor. What you can expect here is a solid, hearty meal. We stopped in on a trip to San Antonio, and had breakfast for dinner. The cowboy ribeye steak with eggs was just slightly overcooked past medium rare but still a tasty piece of meat. Eggs were properly done over easy so the yolk was a smooth consistency. Accompanied by hash browns and Texas toast, it was a perfect choice for dinner. We also had the chicken fried steak, a huge portion smothered in white gravy and served with a loaded baked potato. Both entrees included a trip to the salad bar, a functional affair that had the basics including sliced beets. Again, it wasn't fancy but just good food. I live near the coast so I am pretty picky about the shrimp I eat and this was great. well seasoned, crispy and delicious! I expected my husband to be disappointed with his burger but he said it was delicious and couldn't have been better. The highlight may have been my niece's steak. I took a taste of it and WOW!!! So much flavor and it was huge. Talk about low expectations and high results, this is the place. And friendly, good service to top it all off. So I went here last weekend for breakfast, I've heard so many good things about here, so let's try. We were seated quickly, and our server was friendly, kind, the food was sooo good. My French toast was I believe the best French toast, hands down! I wasn't a fan of the hash browns they were gross bland, and they probably could've been cooked a little longer. When I got my order, he said they didn't have syrup for my French toast. That was a bit upsetting. When I ordered, I felt he should've told me they didn't have any.. he offered me honey or sugar-free syrup. I ended up turning around and asking someone for some syrup. They atmosphere itself was ok, it wasn't amazing and nice but it was basic and blah but it's good was good and service was good so, I was ok with that. And lastly the price was great! The building outside and inside needs some work. BUT the food is delicious! The steak breakfast was a good choice. Lots of flavor! I definitely don't think any compliments would come from the food ! Service was a little rocky when we first arrived confusion with figuring out who our waiter was. But once it was figured out everything went well and was attentive. First time to the cowboy palace. Stopped by to eat some breakfast, thought we'd give it a try. We were greeted and were given the option to seat anywhere we wanted. The place was very clean. The wife and I ordered our breakfast, which didn't take long to be brought to our table. Food was excellent, service was great, they were constantly checking on us to see if we needed anything else, but not overbearing. My beverage refill was placed in a to-go cut without me having to ask, which was very nice. We give it a 5 out of 5. Would stop by here again if in the area. It is absolutely the definition of a hole in the wall. The food was OK. We went in late on weeknight. Service was fairly prompt. Food was average at best. I had the fried fish dinner. The fish was good and crispy but nothing to write home about. It's a small local restaurant in Seguin. We ordered the Nachos I was hungry but when it came out I wasn't impressed. It was smothered in a liquid cream. I only ate a little. Sorry folks this was just very disappointing for me. Sone how an apx 10$ order of nachos with one glass of tea was a bit over 18 dollars. I didn't even think about being charged for chips and dip. That is usually automatic with Mexican food. Guess I should have taken a better look at the menu. At best it was mediocre. My husband ate it. But We won't be returning. Nothing I saw was even inviting. Wish I could have left a happier review. The bench if you sat in a booth was about as as comfortable as you would expect in a correctional facility. No padding or upholstery. Hurt my back. I am giving the second star because the prices were cheap so I give the owners credit for knowing the value of their food. One of my two pork chops was paper thin.
