Gramma D's special for 09/13/21, egg salad in pita.

I rate my restaurant experiences on five things: quality of the food relative to my experience with similar food, how well the wait staff took care of us, how clean the restaurant is overall, the price points in regard to what we've ordered, and the atmosphere. I would like to give this restaurant four stars, the restaurant is clean, the food was good, the atmosphere was quaint and I felt there was value in what we ordered. I would like to go back however... we did an online search and saw that the hours are 11 to 9:30 Monday through Thursday. When we arrived there were no other hours posted any place else that we could see. As we were walking in around 11:15 someone was walking out with a carry out order. We didn't mind at all waiting near the counter as we were taking in the atmosphere which is simple and clean, nice. There was no one else in the restaurant at that time. An older gentleman walked out from the kitchen and asked "is she not out here?" We looked around and seeing no one just looked back at him quizzically. He kindly asked us to take a seat. As I turned away from the counter area to go to the tables I saw a woman back in the kitchen laughing and appearing to be talking to other people in the kitchen. I thought "that must be she". Indeed it was. The older gentleman must've had words with her while we were sitting down because she was nothing but rude to us, curt and looking at us as if we had done some thing to get her in trouble while she took our order. My husband ordered one of the specials-2 slices with one topping and a soda. I had another survival, egg salad in pita and added a soda. She delivered the slices and soda, briskly putting the bottles of soda on the table and the plate of slices in front of my husband, shot me a dirty look and said "the egg salad will be out in a minute" sharply. I looked at my husband and said "what did WE do?" She brought out the egg salad, we asked for crushed red pepper flakes and grated Parmesan cheese all of which she delivered with the same actions and attitude. We sat and ate our meal listening to her and the gentleman cut up with each other, using profanity. at one point she laughed and said @shut the f@&$k up!". By the time we finished our meal a couple of regular customers had come in. My how sweet she became. I turned to my husband and said "do not tip her." We did tip out to the pizza maker. Take away-not a bad place to grab a slice, reasonably priced, clean and cute but the waitress needs to keep her problems where they belong. We will not be going back. We are hearing good things about D's pizza on Rte. 10.

Came to Wait on for a weekend getaway. Wanted to head into town and found Gramma place. Food was delicious and fast definitely would recommend for lunch or dinner.

It's inconsistent. Sometimes it's amazing. Sometimes the pizza is burnt. The wings are good. However the service is also very inconsistent.

It was poppin all night long w tables coming and going and a bar filled. We got the perfect time going around 6 and got a table for five immediately. All the food was carefully curated and not your run of the mill, generic Sysco brand. Everything we had was amazing and delicious, and with the prices being very reasonable- we fully enjoyed ourselves. One thing I did notice was the lack of service. The servers were bustling about but didn't check on our table enough. We all had one drink and had they checked in more we all would have had seconds and maybe a third. That's the only light complaint bc otherwise everything was pristine and cozy.

The room was clean and tidy, and the layout was very tasteful. It had a warm and retro atmosphere, which made people relax as soon as they entered the door. The owner (or the front desk) was very enthusiastic and recommended several great restaurants and attractions nearby. It felt like living in a friend's house. The bed was very comfortable, the sheets and towels were of high quality, and even the fragrance made people feel at ease. The breakfast was simple but exquisite, and the food was carefully prepared. The location is also very good, the surroundings are quiet but not remote, and it is very convenient to drive to nearby natural attractions and towns. Cleanliness: 5/5 Service attitude: 5/5 Comfort: 5/5 Value for money: Very high! If you like the kind of small inn that is not commercialized and full of human touch, you must stay at Hamden Inn once. Next time I come here, I will definitely choose here again!

The atmosphere immediately invites you to stay awhile: relaxed, cozy, spotless, and effortlessly trendy without trying too hard. It's the kind of place that feels both comfortable and current. The menu offered an excellent variety, making it hard to choose, but we started with the goat cheese and mushroom flatbread appetizer paired with cocktails, and it was the perfect beginning to the evening. Flavorful, balanced, and beautifully prepared. For dinner, we sampled two outstanding entrées. The wild shrimp dish was incredibly fresh, served over a vibrant mix of garden-picked greens, avocado, watermelon radish, and a flavorful kicker dressing that tied everything together perfectly. The Faroe Island salmon was equally impressive -- perfectly cooked and topped with locally picked ramp-infused butter, served over asparagus and fingerling potatoes. Every bite tasted fresh, seasonal, and thoughtfully crafted. Overall, this was a wonderful dining experience with warm hospitality, a welcoming vibe, and food that truly delivers. We will definitely back for dinner and stay for the live music as well.

Excellent food and friendly staff. Filled with locals who all seem to know each other. My girlfriend and I spent two nights in a B&B just a block away, and we stopped in on a Saturday night. It was packed, and the only space was at the large communal table in the middle of the room. Our food took 40 minutes to come out, but the waitstaff was incredibly apologetic and offered to comp a round of drinks, and we were in no rush just enjoying the atmosphere, so no worries there. We had a flatbread with arugula and prosciutto and pasta with grilled chicken. Both were incredible. My girlfriend has spent a lot of time in Italy and has laughably high standards when it comes to pasta, and she wouldn't stop raving about how good her penne was. There was a corner filled with musical instruments, so it looks like they host live music as well, though not while we were there. Overall this is a great restaurant in a rural area that is worth driving to if needed.
