The key lime pie is great, but best on the first day of purchase... It sort of has this delightful frozen, yet almost cheesecake like texture the first day. Staff were nice enough and I did not have an issues with staff and the gloves/cleanliness (as some referred to in previous reviews). The black and white cookies were decent too, and the raspberry crumb bar was also tasty. What can I say, I'm still a fat kid at heart - don't judge me by my multiple purchases in one day. :) read more

Went to Gramma's for strawberry short cake. It was made with buttercream, not whipped cream and had nuts on the outside! That's not the way to make a strawberry shortcake! It had hardly any strawberries in it and only a few half strawberries on top! It was terrible! Also bought a brown durby cake, that had whipped cream that was full of preservatives! Hardly any fruit, and the chocolate cake had no taste. The two chocolate covered strawberries did not have any chocolate taste either! The quality of the baked goods are awful! Don't buy anything there! Go anywhere else! Will never go back there! What a waste of money and calories! read more

Their cookies are very good but unfortunately we won't be back. The woman working behind the counter picked up all of our cookies with the same pair of gloves she used to touch cash and the credit card of the people she helped before us. I asked her to give us another cookie using tissue paper instead of her dirty gloves and she gave us new cookies using the same pair of dirty cloves she touched cash and credit cards with. Needless to say this is beyond dirty and we won't be back. The owners should teach their employees to be hygienic when serving customers. If you go in here for a special request cake , FORGET ABOUT IT!!!.I went in to see if I could get a white cake with Buttercream frosting, I needed it in five days, told not a problem took my 50.00 dollars for this cake and said it will be ready on Saturday. Thursday afternoon I get a call saying we can't make that cake because they don't do custom cakes just custom designs with the frosting? when I ordered the cake I specified it had to be a white cake ,which means you just don't use the egg yolks. I even have it written on my receipt and the woman at the counter checked with the back of the house before I left," no problem ". Now they call me and say they can't do it and don't know how to make a white cake. Over thirty years in business and they don't know how to make a white cake "REALLY". They didn't really even seem to care that they left me hanging on this. I know not getting this isn't the end of the world but, there is no excuse for the incompetence. THANK YOU gramma's !! Its sad that there is no descent bakery in the area and this is the only one to come to and believe me they are more a miss than a hit. I recently bought rugelach for my holiday and I've never tasted the worst of the worst. My goodness each one was so dry you need liquid just to get them down your throat. What bakery during the holiday has no gingerbread men?I was so disappointed. The onion rye bread was decent but cut way too thin. Honestly, this place isn't worth running to. They are a pretty good bakery. But twice I have special ordered tarts and cakes, prepaid for them, but they were sold away to others when I arrived -- and I arrived on time. It seems as though there is no manager to speak to about this so I avoid doing business with them when I must rely on getting what I paid for. read more

In pains me to write this review, but I have to be honest. I have had some decent things from Grandma's Bakery years ago, so for a life long friends 50th birthday I did not hesitate to order the cake from Grandma's. I walked in and the place was still the same old clean, old fashion looking bakery it always was. The employees were still friendly and helpful. And the place was very busy. The cake ordered however, did not even live up to the quality and taste of Publix Bakery. I ordered a 2 layer, rich, moist layer cake with cream cheese frosting from Cynthia on Friday 4/15/16 for pick up at noon on Sunday 4/17/16. What we received was a 3 layer (very thin layers) cake with frosting spread so thin that you could see the cake itself through the frosting. Cutting and serving the cake, upon the first slice being pulled out, my first thought was oh no they screwed up and gave us a spice cake with cream cheese frosting, due to the extremely light brownish color of the cake layers. I literally took 1 bite of cake, the cake itself had no flavor at all, not even a trace of chocolate taste and it was so dry that it was crumbly. The cream cheese frosting was absolutely delicious, but it was not enough to carry the flavorless cake and as thin as it was spread on, it could not make up for the dryness of the cake. The cake served 6 to 8 people and only 1 person at the party actually finished the cake served to them, and afterwards admitted the cake was not good but she did not want to hurt anyone's feelings so she "choked it down". The part that is the most bothersome is I trusted this bakery, and being a special occasion such as a 50th birthday celebration I wanted to bring a cake that would blow everyone away. Needless to say, this cake left everyone wanting a real cake that was moist and loaded with flavor. Next time, I don't care the importance of the event, the Pope himself could be visiting, the cake will never come from Grandma's Bakery again. I assume the business must have been sold, or changed hands at some point and the only thing they care about now is the profit and how much money they have in the bank. read more

i bought a creme brulee from there on a whim, and thought it was mildly suspicious that it was baked into what appeared to be a ceramic clay dish that someone made in an art class. also, this was not the usual type of dish that i've ever seen creme brulee baked into. upon taking it home and taking my first bite, i instantly felt ill, to the point where i IMMEDIATELY spit it out. the creme brulee tasted rancid, like poison, like i could actually taste the clay dish on the creme brulee. after that, i threw up violently and dry-heaved for another five minutes. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED. i was very disappointed, and upset, seeing as how i spent six dollars on something that instantly left me very ill and confused. i hate to say it, because the pizzeria is very nice, as is the strawberry patch girls and the boys market, but this bakery is TERRIBLE. it's so sad, especially because the boy behind the counter was very nice to me; however, your pastry made me so sick i wondered if i should call a poison control hotline. i will never buy anything from this bakery again. read more
