Food is an overall 7.5/10. The portions were fairly big and they had fresh food. We got grammy's favorite steak and pasta, supreme little Joey, and ravioli with meatball. Our plates all had the same tomato sauce, which was slightly bland. Our plates also contained lots of cheese, SHY AWAY LACTOSE PEOPLE. The ravioli was extremely soft with a burst of cheese, the pizza's veggies were vibrant and flavorful, however the steak was a bit overdone. The server did ask on the spot for us to check the meats cooking to see if its how we asked. This question made us really appreciate the restaurants culture and service. Price is average for mom and pop shop too. The Service was nice and welcoming. They gave us free garlic knots for being first timers. Our food came pretty quick and they double check to make sure the food is to our liking. The location is right off of Harlan and had limited parking. I held off..well sort of. Now on to the sangwhich..I went with Big Jeff's Italian Sub. Big Jeff knows how to eat. This sadly was not a sub. Sub is on a sub roll..not chibatta bread. I KNOW..how dare I sully Grammy's name. The flavor of this sangwhich was definaly there..just the bread threw me off. Remember..I am looking for my Italian Hoagie perfection. It was good..had the Zip and Zing of the dressing, meats and onions I had been looking for..but that bread..just didn't cut it for me or my east coast neghibor who got the other half. Loved what I believe were homemade potato chips but the lovely young lady who brought out our goodies couldn't confirm. Oh yes, and who can forget the giant plate of first timer garlic knots. You can seriously use those as a sandwhich bun on their own. Will I be back? absolutely. I have a whole list of things to try. Did I walk out with a giant chocolate chip cookie? ...again..Absolutly. One of the best root beer floats I've ever had. Also ordered a "slice" of lasagna cold to reheat later. 305 for 35min in the oven came out the perfect temperature. Was a bit dissappointed, I would consider the flavor and density middling at best. The sauce was bright, but the herbs, cheese, and meats were lacking in flavor. Hidden gem! Not so hidden anymore, as Grammy's Goodies was featured on the popular tv show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri! They are famous for their lasagna and bakery items. Everything about this place was magical and delicious! Family owned and operated, amazing holiday decorations, cookies and treats piled high on every surface, friendly and attentive staff, unique and beautiful goodies displayed in the cases, free garlic knots for first time customers! The pizza has a thick and soft crust, the garlic knots are huge, the homemade pasta is tender and flavorful, the Italian beef sandwich is loaded with meat and a delicious dipping sauce, the Italian potato salad is so fresh and full of herbs, the cannoli was crunchy but not too hard and didn't fall apart. Celebrating my husband's birthday is always fun as we seem to be out of town every year. This year was no different as we were in Colorado. He had his mind set on trying out this place seen on DD&D's. You just never know what you will find and WOW did this place impress for good old comforting Italian food. Family owned and operated which I love and respect. This business was started back in 2005 as the family participated in the Festival Italiano at Belmar. Ten years later the family opened a restaurant and Colorado loves it! It is always a pleasure to see a business crowded when you arrive and this place was no different. When we walked in, we got in line to order. Once they realized we were dining in, they asked us to find a table and they would come to take our order. Interior is cafe style nothing fancy but the smells coming out of the kitchen will make your mouth water. A very pleasant Joey Lynn arrived and dialed us in on the goods. We had to try their famous lasagna, salad and their garlic knots. Did I say garlic knots?? These knots were the size of large muffins. Huge and every single bite was a taste of heaven. The lasagna was absolutely as savory and delicious as Guy F. said it was. This is a very old recipe from the owners Mother as most of the other recipes are hers as well. The lasagna was big enough for us to share and still have some left over for lunch. They offer so much more than lasagna. Sandwiches, pizza with their homemade dough, Italian sausage and peppers, chicken parmigiana, fettuccine Alfredo and the menu goes on and on. So many desirable treats are offered for dessert but believe me we were just too full. Parking is a very small lot so you will must likely be parking on the street. If you are from Chicago, don't get the Italian Beef, you'll be sorely disappointed. The beef itself was dry and lacking flavor other than black pepper (it came with au jus but it shouldn't be doing all the work) and the bread was hard as a rock. The portions are MASSIVE, I'm talking garlic knots the size of your head. Additionally, when we dined there they gave us the garlic knots for free because it was our first time, overall a generous business! The interior is more casual, but that's not the reason to go to this spot, the flavors are THERE. We ordered take out consisting of lasagna and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Both came with nice large rolls. I also picked up a side salad. Now the pricing has gone up which is to be expected but my concern was the quality. Once again the lasagna really hit the spot. It is perhaps the best lasagna in the city area. The Alfredo was also good along with the rolls. This review is more of an update but I'm pleased with the overall quality of the food. There is plenty of other stuff at this place so you should stop in and check it out. To further explain about the lasagna I can taste at least two meats, one of which is sausage. I can enjoy the ricotta and I appreciate the sauce. It really is top notch. When I placed the order they said it would be ready in 15 minutes and sure enough when I walked in it was all ready for me in a carry out paper bag. Grammy herself is behind the counter while the balance of people working are her family. Such great people serving their favorite dishes. I was in Denver visiting family and earlier saw an episode of Triple D where Guy Fieri filmed an episode at Grammy's and that's all it took. Not far from my family's home we ventured out and it did not disappoint. The variety of baked goods and pastries was incredible, cookies and pastries from my childhood growing up in Chicago filled the interior of this fine establishment. And you have to walk around all of these marvelous baked items stacked like buildings on a city block to get to the counter to order your food and pay for you freshly baked choices. We decided to pick up a piece of Lasagna to take home for dinner later, but did pick up an Italian Beef sandwich to taste and the Fishermen's Basket to taste as well. The friendly staff also threw in an order of Garlic Knots on the house for us to try. God Bless them, I felt like I was in my Nonna's basement where she fed us incredible Italian meals and treats. The smells, the heat of the oven and the savory flavors of genuine Italian food prepared at home. It doesn't get any better than this people. After we had our beef sandwich and fisherman basket we had to go back to pay and walking past the case what do we see but fresh cannoli and pignoli cookies. C'mon! So we had to pick up a few for tonight after our take home lasagna to enjoy while watching Thursday Night Football. This is a true gem. I have wanted to experience this treasure for a long time. When we arrived a wonderful server opened the door, was gracious and genuine, setting us up for a great experience. As we stood at the window to place our order, I could see "Grammy" working hard in the next room. She was surrounded by children all having a great time. I was so excited to see her and looked forward to hopefully meeting her. I ordered the homemade spaghetti with meatball and added a sausage link. The meal was served with a fresh baked butter roll, the spaghetti was made well, loved the sauce and sausage, but the meatball was incredible with a soft mouthfeel and loaded with flavor. A girls softball team of 25 guests came in and Grammy grabbed a ticket book and jumped tight in to help the server taking orders and then serving the team. This woman is amazing, she works so hard and is a genuine restaurateur! I later met her and she is down to earth and so full of love. This is the happiest place on earth!!! read more

Denver day 1... We couldn't check into our hotel just yet, so we found a DDD at lunchtime. It's not all that big inside, just order at the counter and they bring to your table. After ordering, if it's your first visit, they give you complimentary garlic knots. They come with 6 and are about the size of my fist. Oh my. :) She had the Mangia Meatballs sandwich. It came with provolone cheese and added peppers. I chose the Italian steak sandy. It came with fried peppers on a homemade baguette. On Friday, June 13, 2025, I ordered lasagna, which contained ground beef, Italian sausage, ricotta, and mozzarella. I did not like it. Their sauce is too thick, and the sausage lacks flavor. The generous portion of lasagna was $19, which was split 3 ways. We also split a giant chocolate cream puff, which was heaven. It was light and delicious. Then we ordered a large pizza with half cheese and half pepperoni to take home to the family for Friday night pizza night. It was terrible! The crust was super thick, but not like deep dish (no olive oil). The cheese was too milky and too much. The size was 2 1/2 feet x 3 1/2 feet. Unbelievable! The service was excellent. My bill was over $100, and most of the pizza went in the trash. The atmosphere was a definite hole-in-the-wall/dive. It was not clean, and everything was very old. The bakery was amazing, with many fabulous-looking pastries and cookies. That is the only part of the business I can recommend. I need to try some other entrees to give a fair rating, but now I give the Italian food a 3-star and the bakery a 5-star read more

In town on vacation we always search out food gems. This place did not disappoint. Walking in it feels like a home cooked meal being greeted by staff that I get the hunch are all connected to the same family tree. For starters as first timers they offer you garlic knots. They had a nice sourdough taste and perfect texture. I also have to say as the reviews say; they are huge. Always like getting the inside track from the staff I went with the lasagna. It too was a large portion and the sausage and cheese throughout were mighty fine. The bread that I suppose is the same dough as the garlic knot came out super fresh with a crispy zing like it just came out of the oven. My wife went with the giant sausage cannoli. It was bigger than life and noticing a trend here the bread had a nice flaky and crispy touch. Went with the desserts of cannoli and giant cream puff. I would say the cream puff was good but more of a novelty. It is just too big. The cream was perfect. The cannoli was the dessert star of the show. There are so many choices when ordering dessert. I'm pretty sure that we're going to have lasagna for at least 2 to 3 more meals and I had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and it was divine and the portions were huge. I'm sure I'm gonna eat that for days as well... Our eyes got really big when we saw the desserts and the goodies... they were so yummy looking The best thing about this place is the old-school red and white checkered tablecloth and friendly service and the fact that this is a family business just made our heart happy... I don't get disappointed often. The hype of this place is overblown. Could be renamed Grammy's Dough Haven. Many of the goodies displayed had no pricing. Odd to not know the price and it was busy to ask. It was fully staffed with people running around in the background. But didn't see a purpose for it. Customer service was inconsistent and lacking. Staff member at register was abrupt and unpleasant to some, nice and sweet to others. Specifically offered 'first-time customers' free garlic knots to some, others had no mention. I understand pricing is high nowadays, but many of the items are way overpriced for 'homemade.' Maybe the recognition garnered from television feature was incentive to raise the prices because 'people will pay.' Garlic knots were mainly undercooked and doughy, poorly seasoned with scant garlic or parmesean flavor. The order was a tangle of 'knots,' more like a mess of rolls. Stromboli was massive with a brick of sausage inside. The sauce on the side was good. Massive meaning layered dough. Hardly cheese. Although I realized what I ordered was a heap of dough with meat, as a first time customer I felt so rushed and my one question had a snapped answer. Add the bready garlic knots and it was too much gluten. The flimsy stryfoam container was too small for all that bread. If you want a carb, judgy, bread-heavy experience, check this place out. I will not be returning nor recommend it to anyone, although the pricy pizzelles were good to choke down at about $1 a piece. I like to support local businesses. I did here once. I've always had a positive experience here and have told/brought so many friends about Grammys but not today. I was excited to bring my sister to Grammys for the first time (she lives out of State) to see all the holiday baked goods. It was on the list of special outings I planned for her visit. .I bought 5 clamshells of cookies and a piece of cake. The clamshells are slippery and there are no baskets. I struggled to get to the counter and no one helped me (though several workers saw how much I was carrying). When I dropped one of the clamshells while trying to pay--I mentioned I was frustrated that no one offered to help me to the register (They weren't very busy).The response was "so it's my fault you dropped the cookies?!" No "oh I'm sorry, let's take a look and see if any are broken and let's get you a new pack". When I finally asked for a new pack, she scoffed "fine. I guess someone else will get your broken cookies" wow. Just wow. I usually leave a generous tip but after that attitude, not today. She made a comment about that too. $76 is a lot to spend at any bakery and a little gratitude vs attitude would have gone a long way. Instead she ruined our holiday outing. My sister is handicapped so it was an effort just to get her there. I asked for a manager and found out that it was a family member working behind the counter. I've always had great interactions with the owners but today was such a huge miss. Yes it's the holidays. Yes I get you are tired but this is likely your biggest season to make a great impression.$76 is a lot to spend on cookies--but worth it to support a local business. I suggest being more aware and helping your customers or supplying some shopping baskets (the man behind me dropped his cookies too) . The problem began when they wouldn't let us pay when we ordered and by the time we finished our meal we had to wait in line 20 minutes just to pay. It defeats the purpose of getting there early.
