This is the first place my wife and went when we moved here. We have taken family here a handful of times when they come to visit and it doesn't disappoint. Great local owned place the menu isn't the biggest but they let you mix and match most of everything. The service is great, food is great, but the prices seem a bit high for what you get. Tip. I came here with friends; they said they loved the ambiance. The service is very friendly and welcoming, and they clearly remembered my friends and were happy to see them. I loved the cheese bread appetizer and house soup. My farfalle bolognese was delicious, and everyone enjoyed their main dishes. My only complaint was dessert. I ordered chocolate cake. The texture was nice, but there was an unlisted ingredient: coconut. It's one of few things I can't stand. Now in my case, I just really hate it, but suppose I was allergic? Please list these things on your menu! It's not an expected ingredient. Other than that, it was a lovely experience and I would return. Sano's is my favorite local place for Italian food. I usually get their lasagne and cheese bread is a must. We invariably bring home another meal, just from leftovers. The tiramisu may be the best I've ever eaten. The atmosphere is intimate with an old-school Italian vibe. Think Frank Sinatra and family, excellent service. Casual attire is acceptable but I almost always wear a sport coat, just because it feels right in such a nice place. Credit cards are accepted but I use cash as it saves these little family owned places money on the high fees they get charged by credit card companies. Families will feel comfortable here and it's also a great place for dates. read more

I am giving two stars for service only. The food was ok Italian, nothing special. Ambiance is "dark old school" not in a good way. However, their was a discrepancy between the check and actual invoice, being $5 more. After talking to the owner, he stated this is a "surcharge" to their expensive soso food, because of pandemic- which is over. He said because of the pandemic (which is over). He stated there is a "sign" on his entrance to explain. No sign, we looked. Also, I noted to him, he is just hurting his server's tips...literally told me "I don't care". read more

Outstanding meal at Sano's tonight. Authentic Italian food and ambiance that reminded me of the little Italian joints I grew up dining at on Long Island, NY. Fantastic red sauce, delicate eggplant in a perfectly baked dish. Lasagna that filled you up and tasted delicious - perfect portion. Try the sautéed mushrooms and ask for extra bread to sop up the delicious herbed sauce. Save room for dessert and cappuccino. We had no plans for dinner so decided to try Sano's. It was awesome. We didn't have reservations and being a Saturday night we had to wait. No problem. We waited. It was funny, it was like eating at your friends house. Everyone knew everyone. Except for us. We were the newbys. We got a couple of glasses of Prosecco while we waited. It was slow going once we got our table but that helped us relax. We shared a caprese salad and then they brought the menus. I got the Manicotti and my husband got the chicken Parmigiana. If you are in a hurry, this is not the place for you. The food was fantastic. We met the people sitting next to us and had a great conversation with them. The restaurant was full of conversation and people who were out to enjoy their night out. The experience was awesome. My manicottii was delicious as well as the chicken parm with enough to take home and they even served Spumoni ( Italian I've cream) chocolate, cherry and pistachio. YUM, my favorite! From the moment you walk through the door you know that it's going to be good. The host, wait staff and even the owner made us feel at home. We started off with Italian Margaritas, ya I know, just get it. We the ate our salads and cheese bread while listening to beautiful music at a volume that we could still carry on a conversation. I was here for the first time last week and was pleasantly surprised. For months I had been wanting fresh manicotti and could not find it. I'm pleased to say that Sano's does it right. -The decor is good and made me remember when I was dining on the streets in Rome. The only issue is when it's not busy and only a couple of groups you are literally in everyone's conversations. When it did get busy it was a better feel. 3 stars. -The service was amazing always had what we needed and never an empty drink! 5 starts. -The cheese bread starter was good but the normal bread that comes with the salad was equally as good. 3 stars. -The salad tasted like it was out of a bag (I know that's how lettuce comes in but give it a rinse and a spin at least). 1 stars. -The main course we had the fettuccine Alfredo and the special which was the half chicken on a bed of pasta. The chicken was perfect 5! But the fettuccine Alfredo was lacking. 4 stars. -The desert we wanted was a tiramisu but they were all out. So we had a lemon tort and it was very good. 3 Stars. Overall-Service was great. Food was good but knowing the family story and the price I was expecting more. When I do come back I will stick to the classic they are known for something with the AMAZING marinara they have. read more

Unbelievably disappointed by this place. Had heard nothing but good things, but from start to finish this was an absolute disaster of a dinner. For starters, the menu is absolutely overpriced for what they're offering. The majority of the dishes consist of some type of pasta with sauce, and sometimes a meatball or sausage, somehow for over 20 dollars. Other dishes don't even come with a meat option. The food itself is mediocre at best, a standard, likely pre-made red sauce served over boiled store bought noodles. There is no complimentary bread, and the salad is small and lacked toppings, so the cost just isn't justifiable for any of the dinners. That was before our food had issues. I went with my family and two of us had issues with our food. One of us got a meatball that was refrigerator cold in the middle, and I got a steak that was supposed to be medium rare, but it was medium well plus. After asking for it to be fixed I was given a steak that was beyond blue rare in the inside, not something I could eat. It took multiple attempts to make a steak that they claim is their special, and by the time I could eat, everyone else was done. All of this was coupled with awful awful service. The manager, or whatever he was, acted as if it was an inconvenience we didn't have reservations even though the restaurant was near empty. Our server was fine but took a long time to do anything, and after issues began simply stopped showing up. The manager, when shown my raw second steak, contested us on it, saying it was not raw, and asked what we wanted from him. Unbelievably rude, and he never came back after that. And somehow, with several items made poorly, not one item was taken off the tab. In summary, the food was mediocre and absolutely overpriced, the service was beyond rude, and be warned, they charge extra if you use a card and do not warn you about this, though it is posted on a sign at the entrance. We have absolutely 0 desire to ever eat here again. read more

Delicious and Authentic!! Definitely reminds me of Italy! They don't pack the food with lots of protein, it's simple yet flavorful. We ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo and Spaghetti Pomodoro. The Fettuccine wasn't mind blowing but it still had good taste and the noodles were cooked perfectly to twirl the thick sauce with. The Spaghetti Pomodoro was AMAZING! The sauce was light, not too sweet, the right amount of acidity and just Mmmmm... The side salads it came with were just regular side salads, nothing too special. For dessert, we ordered the Cannoli. Again, delicious! A little more on the crispy side (I'm used to chewy Cannolis) but the filling had the right amount of spice. The staff was nothing but great! The service was wonderful from the time we walked in to the time we walked out. Our server checked on us at the right times, filled our drinks and was friendly through out our meal.
