Absolutely Adore Tony P's Italian Restaurant, on Zuni, in Denver. Their food is true Family Created Italian Food.. We were seated inside, much cooler, but they have a patio with umbrellas. They brought us some Breadsticks with Italian Red sauce for dipping. Fabulous Flavor and the bread is homemade. Then we ordered some Bruschetta with cut up tomatoes and basil and Mozzarella for spreading on. And Italian Oil. Yummy. We then decided on the Bianca Spinach Pizza with tomatoes. This pizza has always been one of my favorite pizzas. Very Delicious. My friend had never been here and was so impressed with the food. For dessert we each got the Chocolate Candle, which is a Chocolate encasing dark and White Mousse. Extremely Fabulous tasting. They have quite a few delicious desserts, but the Chocolate Candle is my Favorite, Our waiter was very knowledgeable about all the food and the wines available. He always checked on us and made a few recommendations. Tony (the Owner) came over to see us and was very pleased with our comments. Wonderful ambiance and extremely inviting. We stopped by with friends to grab a drink and bite and catch up. When I saw they had a specialty cocktail called Gina (my name) so of course I had to order it. It was nice but a bit too sweet for me. We ordered pizzas and the chicken meatball appetizer. They also brought us complimentary house garlic bread. The staff were friendly and helpful as we were trying to decide. Tony himself even stopped by our table. This a great little spot for a day date and wasn't too busy. read more

Tony P's has quickly become one of my favorite spots. In a world where seed oils and cheap ingredients are the norm, it is honestly refreshing to find a place that serves clean, high quality food made with care, somewhere you can actually feel good about eating. The service stood out just as much as the food. Everyone who checked on our table did so with a smile, and Tony himself even took our order, which made the experience feel personal. The drinks were great too. I have seen some reviews mention pricing complaints, but I will gladly pay more for food that is not loaded with seed oils and questionable additives. I am in Denver twice a month for work, and I have finally found a go to spot where I feel confident about what I am eating. You can tell the ownership genuinely cares about their customers. Favorite neighborhood spot! In the morning Tony P's is a cozy cafe with plenty of outdoor seating and turns into a busy Italian restaurant and bar in the evening. On Sundays they have all day $8 espresso martinis and aperol spritzers! - Best Espresso Martini I've had in Denver, made with rich espresso and not overly sweet. - The Aperol Spritz was light and refreshing, with lots of alternative Spritz options like Limoncello Spritz and Cherry Spritz. - The chocolate cake was disappointing. The buttercream frosting wasn't flavorful and the cake was nothing special. - The bacon breakfast sandwich is delicious, made with crispy bacon, fresh arugula and avocado on fresh house-made sourdough bread. Calling this a breakfast option is almost insulting. Save your money and go somewhere that actually serves real portions and respects their customers. *RESPONSE TO OWNER: Thanks for your reply, Tony. I understand costs are high for restaurants, but that doesn't change the customer experience. At the end of the day, $8 for half an avocado on a small slice of bread simply doesn't feel like value for money. Explaining wholesale costs and rent doesn't make the portion any bigger. My partner and I were walking back to our car from having a late night dinner, and decided to stop here for a drink and dessert. It was such a nice night out in Denver (after getting out of winter), so we asked to sit outside. It took a bit for our server to come out, but once she did, everything was perfect! We ordered the cannoli, dolce de leche, an espresso shot, and a glass of cabernet. We pretty much licked our plates clean- sooooo delicious! You could tell everything was fresh and curated with detail. The espresso was straight out of Italy in its presentation. The wine wasn't anything to write home about, but I did order the by-the-glass pour. I enjoyed it. Best part, it was closing time and as we were leaving, they gave us a loaf of sourdough on the house. We were snacking on it on the way home- this is some of the BEST bread I've ever had! Tony P's is the absolute best. Every single thing was homemade and you can tell! The garlic bread was crunchy, the dough pull was fantastic. You MUST get meatballs in some part of your order! We got the meatball sliders, which were little bites of heaven. The wood fired pizza was perfect in every way. We loved that Tony himself was our server. Good food and drinks, terrible service. My partner and I ordered two spritz cocktails from the menu and it took 40 minutes for them to get delivered. This was at 3pm on a Sunday so only a handful of people outside and no one inside. We had to ask the staff three times on the status of our drinks before getting them. To eat we got one of the Soppressata special pizzas - pretty average because while it was flavorful and the crust was well done, the meat was soggy and there was a layer of oil on top. Overall an average spot that could be better with more care from their staff. The patio is great for a relaxing afternoon but we won't be coming back any time soon due to the poor service. read more

Tony P's is a neighborhood GEM! There are so many reasons why they have been around for 40 years! The homemade pastas and original unique entrees are delectable and comforting. From Grandma Rossi's ravioli, Tagliatelle, and scrumptious lasagna, to their stellar pizzas that boggle the imagination - freshly baked breads and pastries, wonderful bar menu and great Italian specialty drinks and desserts, we could not say enough about how much we enjoyed our experience at Tony P's. To make the dinner even more enjoyable, we were lucky to have awesome live music (60's, 70's blues, light rock, folk guitars and vocals) that really set the tone (pun intended). The wait staff was cordial and attentive as any 5-star restaurant too! Start your day with their incredible coffee and pastry creations, and round out your day with a satisfying evening meal. Fantastic service and food! I had never been here but wanted to try it for a while. The menu looked phenomenal and the dessert options alone made us want to go. We parked on the street and got lucky for a spot near by :) Definity read the signs. Our waitress was Caitlin! She was so kind and fun! Had great recommendations for options that were unavailable at the time. Very sweet! We got some garlic bread when first seated so that was a nice appetizer! I got the Gnocchi with House made Pesto, Arugula & Chicken. My friend got a fun pizza with white sauce that I can't remember the name but it was good! We shared a little of each and want to go back soon for more! Come time for dessert, the item my friend wanted was not available at the time but Caitlin suggested something else and it was amazing! PLEASE be sure to look at RECENT reviews because we almost did not stop here based on the "under 4 star rating." Note that some of those are based on using Door Dash or similar service. GO TO THIS RESTAURANT - SERIOUSLY! The vibe is amazing. TV's are on, people are chatting, and although the tables were a little close together that night, my husband and I were able to have private conversation. It has a true Italian feel and oh, the delicious smells. It was a VERY busy evening, after the Bills/Broncos playoff game. We were greeted quickly and seated at the bar and then moved to a table when one was available. From the fresh breadsticks served with marinara sauce to the greens salad (not just romaine) with homemade blue cheese dressing, to the pesto gnocchi with chicken and ziti with sausage meal, we were in HEAVEN! The owner, Tony, waited on us, and not only did he take good care of us, he is a delightful person to chat with. It felt like we were old friends. He explained how important it was to him to serve fresh and healthy food, and that is exactly what we tasted in each bite. I shared with Tony that the gnocchi dish was the best I've ever had. We did not have dessert because we were so full (and had enough leftovers for lunch the next day). Prices were far better than several other restaurants in the surrounding area. We enjoyed it SO much that we returned the next morning for coffee and a scone - both of which were also delicious. They have indoor and a lot of outdoor seating, which is where we had breakfast. If we had more time in Denver, I am positive we would have had dinner there again because there were MANY delicious-sounding options on the menu. Tony has a vision, and he perfected it with his amazing little spot, Tony P's. The menu is incredible, in my view, brilliant, and his food is absolutely delicious. It is clear to me that Tony created this space and crafted his menu with creativity, finesse, deep knowledge of Mediterranean/Italian food. Three Points: 1. The menu offers many opportunities to create your own pizza, salad, sandwiches and even charcuterie board. The toughest part is deciding what to build. If you don't feel like "thinking that hard" of course Tony P's has all of the standbys. 2. The baked goods are top notch, offering several gluten-free options and incredible sourdough ciabatta. 3. Not only does Tony offer a variety of wine and hard beverages, but also put much thought and care into non-alcoholic drinks. Did I mention there is also a "build your own pizza" for children?? The vibe transported me to many lovely Trattorias in Italy. It is clear that Tony and his team cook and serve with love. I highly recommend Tony P's for a full meal or just a cappuccino and decadant dessert.
