It had been some time since I was here. I came with my husband and son for dinner on a week night. There is plenty of parking available. We were welcomed in and seated. The decor is charming. Our server, Holly, brought us our requested water. My husband ordered bread and butter for the table. He chose the split plate of spaghetti and ravioli. He requested Bolognese instead of marinara. The meals came with salads and he decided to get the Italian dressing. My son chose ranch with his salad and ordered the fettuccini alfredo adding parmesan chicken on top. I chose the fettuccini and meatballs with marinara. I selected Italian dressing for my salad. The salads came on cold plates which made the veggies seem even crisper than they were. It was more than just the usual side salad with the addition of garbanzo beans. We all enjoyed the freshness. My dish was ample and tasty. The meatballs are fork and knife size. The marinara had a bright tomato flavor. Overall enjoyable and enough to bring home for lunch the next day. In fact, we all needed a container. Holly boxed everything up for us. Picked up My To-go order tonight. Paid $57 which included tip. This is what my pathetic order inside looked like: One Caesar salad, one fettuccine Alfredo, and one side order of just plain noodles. Are you kidding me! $57! The fettuccine was mediocre at best ! The plain noodles were maybe half cooked and the Caesar salad absolutely sucked! lettuce was wilted and the Caesar dressing tasted like anchovies paste. Bad food and an absolute rip off! read more

My husband and I stopped here for our last night in town. We should have known how our dinner was going to go when we walked in and a gentleman was singing. He was not bad, but it was too loud and we struggled to have conversation. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered the toasted ravioli appetizer, eggplant parmesan, lasagna and both had the Caesar salad. The dressing on our salads didn't not have any flavor. The toasted ravioli was good but the marinara sauce was thin and the flavor was strange. Once we tasted that, we feared what our meals were going to taste like and unfortunately our fears were confirmed. The eggplant was undercooked and the breading was bland. The lasagna was doused in the marinara sauce and served in a bowl so there was no escaping it. We never would have driven by or sought out this place if it wasn't for Belfiore Italian in Wheat Ridge. The owner's son is at the helm there and he has some of the most dynamite wedding soup and meatballs to be found in the metro area. This is strip mall casual with low lighting, plenty of space with muzak inspired music ambiently playing in the background. They have decorated for the holidays with homey type decorations which make the environment even more comfortable. If you look at the menu before coming to the restaurant, you might notice that the menu is different. Also note that there is a 4% fee for using a credit card but that is plastered all over their website so we knew to bring cash. It is very overpriced here. We started with some soup which was okay. We opted to split the Italian egg rolls. They were good. $20 for one cup of soup and an appetizer. We cut our losses given the food was just okay and the remainder of the menu was pretty heavy and overpriced. read more

MUST GO!!! I came in on a solo date with myself on a Thursday night while I was craving some chicken parm. Well boy! This place does NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Before I talk about the food, I must give huge kudos to the staff and excellent service! Holly was my server and bartender and she was absolutely lovely! Her service is remarkable and it was a pleasure to see her warmth and appreciation with every guest there. Also, Michael (the owner) was so kind and generous, going to every table making sure everything was perfect for all his guests! Little did I know that Michael was making all the dishes as well! Talk about hard work and pride, you can taste his passion in each dish! I wish I was able to snag some photos of my food, but I came in starving and devoured my plate upon contact! I ordered the chicken Parmesan and the cutlet was the size of my face!!! Cooked to perfection and full of flavor, the portion was very generous and I might explode. I would've licked the plate if no one was watching! I did also place a to-go order for my husband. Split plate with an extra meatball and again... VERY generous portion! I hope he loves it! Pizza was roughly equivalent to a decent frozen pizza from the grocery store- amount of toppings was good, but otherwise very forgettable. Sausage served with spaghetti was wildly under seasoned- to the point that it could have gone into any style of cuisine and no one would think 'this is Italian sausage'. Baked chicken was best dish at table, but also under-seasoned and the skin lacked any crispiness (which I love and therefore missed). The risotto made the plate- best part of the main meal. Was disappointed given this was not an inexpensive meal. On the plus side, server was enthusiastic and pleasant, atmosphere was quiet and dining room was clean. My hopes were so high...a quaint Italian restaurant that's been there for ages. It looked so nice! And sure, the table bread they charge for was good, if not moderately burnt. But then the $20 plate of spaghetti and meatballs arrived. Noodles? Overcooked. Sauce? Not enough salt and pepper to give it flavor. And don't even ask about the meatballs. They were clearly frozen (what a disappointment for what I had thought was a lovely, homemade mom and pop place!) and were, quite frankly, inedible. Spaghetti and meatballs is hard to ruin, but Three Sons did it. I've been here twice before and each time had an amazing experience! I am extremely disappointed in the experience I had today. Our waitress left the table for 30 minutes without checking in on us. Each loaf of bread is $1.75, unless it's the cheese bread and then it's about $8. So, no free bread. Not a big deal! However, also having to pay almost $8 for a side salad seems a little crazy. No bread, no salad, no big deal--as long as the meal makes up for it. The actual meal itself was also not great. When our food came out, mine was lukewarm and lacked flavor. I got the split plate. It came with two meatballs, which was less than I would have expected, and the ravioli were ice cold. The meatballs were good, but the marinara was runny and pretty flavorless. Besides the temperature, the ravioli were pretty good, but the dish wasn't really worth $21. My dad let me try his lasagna and it was really good! It was the only food that actually had seasoning and flavor. My brother got a calzone that he said was soggy, but fine. It wasn't good but it wasn't bad. My mom and grandpa were disappointed in the marinara served with the eggplant parm and the spaghetti. My mom's eggplant was pretty hard and oddly sweet tasting, and my papa ended up leaving the spaghetti behind because he didn't care for it. I checked online and people were raving about the fettuccini Alfredo, so I ordered a side! It was disappointing, too. Runny and pretty flavorless. It tasted like watered-down milk with a small aftertaste of garlic. In terms of the atmosphere, the restaurant had live music tonight, which was actually really cool! Unfortunately, the decor is dated and the restaurant is pretty dark and our table was dirty when we sat down, which is less than ideal. I likely won't be returning. I understand that costs have gone up, and it's hard to keep staff (because the cost of living is so high staff often require higher wages). However, the solution is not to raise prices and cut what was originally offered/included in service as that only makes people more upset to pay such prices. The 3.75% card fee is not ideal, either. I understand that it's what the companies charge the restaurant, but most people don't pay cash. Most restaurants would simply eat that cost, whether or not it's smart business. Being charge for things that didn't used to have a charge, mediocre food (and wine), as well as a credit charge fee makes it hard to want to come back. read more

So we first visited this place about 3 yrs ago and it was ok. Today we gave it another try and OH MY GOD!!! The food was amazing (especially the healthy options). I had the Tuscan roasted chicken with a fig marmalade and a side of steam spinach with mushrooms!!! To start I had the spinach apple walnut side salad with goat cheese. The bread was warmed and fresh out of the over. Things to improve: better lighting (it's too dull/opaque), better/ upbeat music (the 1960s type of mellow music needs updating), and finally a more affordable happy hour menu with better appetizers and wine selections and you will have the perfect neighborhood Italian joint that can almost rival Parma! read more

Our server was very attentive and filled our drinks without us asking her to. We got our salad and garlic bread fast. Salad was not edible and my husband didn't eat it. The garlic bread had no taste! My husband thinks it tasted like frozen bread heated up. I was hoping my bolognese would be better but it wasn't. Sure it was nice and hot but it was bland. I tried adding parm shaker cheese but that didn't help. My husband had the bruschetta chicken and his wasn't good either. It tasted like old reheated chicken or it sat too long. Our bill was over $80 and it definitely wasn't worth it! We won't be back. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

I had an outstanding dinner at Three Sons last Saturday. I started with a lovely Aperol Spritz....alla Veneto! The food....the food was delicious, beginning with the salad. I loved the vinaigrette which I learned is a special recipe of Chef Mike. Then I was enticed by the idea of Italian eggrolls .... the most wonderful fusion of stuffed eggrolls with Italian sausage, cheese, and delicious spices. They are deeo- fried and coated with a bit of marinara sauce. REALLY good! Finally, the most outstanding roasted salmon arrived with a side of mushrooms and spinach. Oh my! No room left for dessert. First off.... the bread is phenomenal! Both times I've come it's fresh and oh so wonderful and I'd come back just for the bread. My bf and I shared a Caesar salad that was very tasty as well. I ordered the Mamas Mozzarella chicken dish which was a basil pesto pasta with chicken. If you like plain pasta with little flavor except an overwhelmingly amount of balsamic, then this dish would be good for you. I, on the other hand, did not enjoy it. The chicken was alright but the pasta was so plain. My bf ordered the The Rigatoni Pomodora . That was actually pretty good. At first he thought it was average but after eating mine then eating his, he thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed his. Last time we came, I got the salmon dish and it was pretty good.
