Tried Gramps for the second time and was once again blown away! We had to get the burger again and it was just as good as the last time. Hands down the best burger in Miami right now. We also tried the variety dozen of oysters from Lazy Oyster and they did not disappoint. Their selection of mignonettes was superb. The Baja Caesar was great, the dressing was not fishy and my favorite part was the crispy tortilla strips. The Conch Fritters were delicious, as was the spicy sauce that came with it. The chicken sandwich was not my favorite, just because it was hinted with curry, but overall not bad. What is there to not love about this place? The location is gorgeous--right on the water with a view of downtown Miami. The drinks are always incredible, and the food was out of this world. I got the chicharron leche de Tigre and the hotdog. The leche de Tigre was very reminiscent of a crudo but with chicharron instead of raw fish. The chicharron wasn't fatty but was expertly fried. The dish did lean a bit more on the heavy side, and I was wanting some sort of relief. I think the dish needs more acid, maybe some shaved apples or pears, or some herbal element to balance out the heat and the fattiness of the dish. Regardless, it was super tasty. The hotdog was perfectly charred, and the garnishments really brought everything together. The bar staff, as always, is super kind and attentive. Not cheap as one would anticipate from the environment. Good ceviche. Very flavorful. No idea what the white fish was but it was light and zesty. Portion could have been larger and served in a real bowl. But wow was it good Overall, I'd come here to nurse a hangover, eat some semi inventive fried/ seafood. What a great experience at Gramps! I didn't know what to expect, but was greeted by the kindest staff and bartenders. This hot dog was on the happy hour menu and truly the best hot dog I have ever had. The house made poppyseed bun was incredible, but the flavors and textures between the miso mustard, jalapeño relish, and crispy shallots made this a show stopper. There's a food truck stationed beyond the bar offering delicious oysters (my friend and I got the east coast ones), and everything else (cocktails and coconut shrimp that were a very generous portion), we ordered at the bar. There was a DJ and eventually, an unexpected drag show. If you get too hot outside, there is an indoor area with a bar. The Wynwood Gramp's crowd definitely followed them to Key Biscayne, which brings a whole new crowd and vibe to the area that's kind of refreshing. If you are planning to visit with a large party (8+) prepare to be tossed around the restaurant aimlessly. There's no communication between the hostess, floor supervisors, or waiters. My party of 13 was mistakenly placed in a table by the hostess and then told we could not sit there and had to split the party and moved to the other side of the restaurant. All while already having taken orders by the waiter and food and drinks already served. We spoke with management who said they couldn't accommodate us. The location is beautiful being right on the marina overlooking the water. Gramps gave this place the revival that it needed! The drinks are super delicious and so reasonable at $12-$13 a drink! Music is great with a live DJ on the weekends (and not too loud so you can still enjoy the company around you. We so enjoyed our time here and the kids loved it too! My friends and I went here for our monthly Hot Dog Club lunch. We go somewhere different every month and chose this place for our 10th anniversary lunch. Needless to say we got the hot dog which was delicious. Oversized hot dog served on a fresh poppy seed bun. The jalapeño relish was delicious, not hot at all. We also ordered fries which were some of the best I've ever had...crispy but tender and hot. Jennifer, our server, was so friendly, pleasant and courteous. The food was served in a very timely manner. We sat out on the covered patio and the overhead fans kept it quite comfortable even in the Miami summer heat. Parking was ample. Started off with a frozen margarita, which was made w fresh lime juice and agave. Hubby had a toasted Pina colada with fire toasted coconut flakes and rum floater. We sat at the bar and our bartender was so friendly and helped us pick out apps. Ceviche was fresh and tasty. Shrimp cocktail had enormous shrimps and tasted amazing. We had a great time here at gramps getaway. The food options are limited to mostly oysters and lobster rolls which were both amazing! The ambiance is perfect to grab a drink and sit by the water and pass time with some friends. We had the pina coloada and it was so flavorful and strong. The bartenders did unfortunately need a bit of work, the place was fairly empty and it took a really long time to get drinks because the bar tenders keep stopping to talk to eachother, talk to other customers, or check their phones. This is really the only thing that kept me from leaving them a five star review. Everything else in this place is great! The location, the vibes, the drinks, it was perfect! The only flaw truly is the speed/rate of which the bar tenders work at. We had a great time but would most likely not return on the weekend because if they were slow on a Wednesday night with a small crowd, we don't want to try our chances on a Saturday. read more

It took ten minutes for someone to come to our table when we arrived, then our three sandwiches & fritters arrived, and despite asking THREE TIMES, the salad didn't arrive until we stood outside the kitchen to catch the staff and demand it again. Ocean breeze, drinks, and vibes. This place was great and we will be coming back. Casual ocean side bar/lounge spot with vibes from Wynwood Gramps. The music is loud, soulful and always a party. The DJ was playing bangers that transcend the years and will pass the vibe check with flying colors. Everyone is just hanging out, drinking on the deck and maybe having a few bites to eat. The food is excellent, fresh made to order. Nothing complicated but complexity in the flavors. Sea side food and drinks done right! The drinks are sturdy and the beer/shot combo is a must. The staff are all chill folks that add to the experience. They all are good at what they do and bring you the service and smiles that will result in better tips, that were rightfully earned! Take my money! Carpool if you have a big party, parking can be limited during a peak day/hour, but it's simply because, it's a cool spot to checkout. Great for groups and good times. There isn't a single thing not to like about this place. That Whiskey Joes feel but with home made, good food Located right next to the Rusty Pelican and the boat marina, so the views are great. They have valet parking that's $7. I'm not sure what other public parking they have as that's all i've done the two times i've gone there. The service is always fantastic. Whether at the bar or at a table. All the staff always gives off a very "homie" feel that's always welcoming. The first time i went they only had the lazy oyster pop up which was and still is incredible. I've tried their raw oysters that are always fresh and had the pleasure of trying all their cooked ones last time and WOW. The chili one was soooo flavorful. They also had lobster still rolls and STILL do. They were great when i had them. This time they had the lazy oyster + a whole menu. We tried their fish dip that was complimented with home made chips and pickled peppers and jalapeños that make for a perfect addition for each bite. We also had the conch fritters that were fluffy and had a very yummy spicy-ish sauce on the side(depending on your threshold.) The burger was absolutely delicious. I loved the sauces and the martin roll as the bread Crinkle cut fries were a must. The lobster was seasoned perfectly and the garlic roti was a great addition to dip it into the chili oil and eat it with the lobster. We finished it off with the key lime pie which was extremely flavorful but a bit too tarty for my liking.
