Plenty of parking, festive music, and great food makes this my go-to Mexican restaurant in the area. While the decor could use a facelift, the food is consistent and portions are great! What I love about this place is it's easy, simple food AND they have lunch specials. Why order a huge meal when you can order off the lunch menu. Plenty of options, mix and match, and combos to choose from. The staff is really nice and are knowledgeable about the menu. I ended up ordering off the lunch menu this time around - #1 that included a taco, enchilada and choice of beans or rice. I ordered a beef taco on soft corn and a chicken enchilada with rice - yum! And for $9.99 it's well worth it. Let's not forget about the chips and salsa.. AND this white ranch type dip that they bring to your table too. I don't know what's in that dip but it's soooo GOOOOD! I drive almost 30 minutes just to eat here... definitely recommend. I'll be back.

    Tacos de Carne Azada

This was the worst Mexican I've had in years. Ordered takeout carne asada tacos. The tacos were super gristly, the meat that was edible was over cooked; nothing on the tacos--a cup w white onions and cilantro on the side. I paid extra for sour cream, but what I got tasted more like ranch dressing...? The rice and beans tasted awful, maybe old? Both the beans and rice were super bland as well. Guacamole was ok, chips in huge need of salt. I'd skip going back.

Al Pastor and Steak taco from the "Real Taco Express"

Apparently they have a taco truck outside called the "Real Taco Express"! We were on a walk around the neighborhood when we saw the taco truck and I knew I wanted a snack after a long walk. We ordered the al pastor and steak taco and ate it after we walked home. Tacos weren't bad but they weren't anything special. I did enjoy the salsas a lot which enhanced the taste of the tacos but the tacos itself were just OK. Definitely would stop by again for a late night snack if I'm out for a long walk in the area. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to trying other taco places in the area.

    Chori-steak

I'm from Royal Oak and I accidentally called the wrong location for take out. I meant to order from Madison Heights but ordered from the Troy location instead. This is my first tile ordering from Troy and to me surprise it is the exact same!! My go to order is the chori-steak and my boyfriend orders the chori-pollo. When you order it comes with your meat along with refried beans, rice, and three small flour tortillas. Everything is always SO GOOD. Seriously I crave Grand Azteca's chori-steak on a daily basis. It's a full steak with the chorizo on top and a cheese sauce on top. To die for. Highly recommend. My favorite Mexican restaurant.

    Carne Asada Burrito

I came here for a little happy hour event with some classmates, and I love the authentic vibe of the place. The big margaritas are a good size and fairly priced, and perfect for an afternoon drink. For food, I wanted to try one of their carne asada burritos, and it had some solid toppings. The chips they include were pretty decent too. Overall pretty good experience and on par with other Mexican food places in the area.

Usually the food is pretty decent here but decided to try a new dish via DoorDash Steak Azteca. The steak was terrible. I didn't expect a filet by any means but over half of it was pure fat and the rest was way over cooked and dry and thin as can be . Bummer I guess if I go back I'll just stick to the ground beef or chicken . The dessert was good however .

Staffs are nice and professional. Food was really salty I will ask for less salty when I come back. I liked their ranch dip :)

The food was good - the service from 2 separate servers was absolutely terrible…read more I ordered the Grande Fajita Burrito - Beans on the side. Food comes - I don't see beans on the plate. I ask the server if I could have the beans that come with my burrito - his reply - "Its only one scoop!" I was confused - and repeated my question - "May I have the beans that come with my burrito?" The server repeated - "Its only one scoop!" I thought there may have been a language barrier - but no - he understood what I was asking - and because it was only one scoop of beans - he was not going to bring the beans that came with my burrito; So, he repeated for a 4th time - "its only one scoop" - as if that qualified why I should be ok with not getting a part of the meal I paid for! What made the experience worse - my beans were not the only thing the server either forgot or just didn't want to bring to the table, But we wanted to order drinks, NOPE! - he didn't bring the Verde salsa, and when we a table of 5 asked for missing items - he showed in tone, facial expression, that he was irritated with our questions for the very things that came with our meals! The terrible service it what killed it for me! Just disappointing.

If you do not eat meat or any animals, please ask what you can eat! They do not have a vegetarian menu. When my food came out, my burrito was covered in cheese. I had one waitress tell me their cheese was not vegetarian, and was mistaken on my end to assume the other server knew I was. I let our waitress know that what I ordered was not what I expected and that I was sorry about it. She let me know what it said on the menu and grabbed it from me, and I apologized again. The manager came out and told me he was sorry, but that something else I ordered (the rice) was also not vegetarian, and asked if I still wanted it. I was given a "new" plate with half of my food scrapped off and a new burrito on it, with rice still under it. Easy to say I lost my appetite. The horchata tastes like it came from a powder mix, and my mother's chicken soup was tough. I don't write reviews like this unless I was genuinely disappointed, which we both were. The food and the vibe was off :(( This is my mom's second time giving this place a shot, she was hoping to have more luck with me there, and they dropped the ball again.

Que Pasa Taqueria has ruined me for a lot of other Mexican spots in the best possible way. I've…read morebeen coming here for over five years, and at this point, it is one of the only places I'll go when I want tacos because everything else tends to leave me wondering why I didn't just come here in the first place. The tacos are every bit as good as people say and the environment is clean and relaxed, they usually have some good music playing too. Authentic, flavorful, consistent, and made with care. But the birria is the real star for me. Hands down, it is the best birria I've had anywhere in Metro Detroit. Rich, tender, packed with flavor, and exactly the kind of thing you think about again later like it owes you money. The owner is also genuinely one of the sweetest people. He remembered my order after only a few visits, and that kind of personal touch makes the place feel even more special. I usually stick with my Mexican Coke, but I love that they have their liquor license now, because a margarita or Corona with the food is a very solid upgrade. I've brought a bunch of people here and sent a whole handful of others, and everyone has said the same thing. It is some of the best Mexican food they've ever had. One of my friends even said it was better than what he had in California and Mexico, which is a bold statement, but Que Pasa can handle bold statements. Que Pasa is not just good for the area, it is the standard I compare everyone else to. Which is probably unfair to everyone else, but here we are.

We love Oaxaca (Troy), but thought we'd try out Que Pasa as well, while we were in the area. Oaxaca…read morereigns as local best in our opinion! Things that worked at Que Pasa: the margaritas were excellent, and all the food we tried (tortas, tacos, burritos, quesadillas) were very good too. Things that need work: there was definitely a language barrier ordering and requesting that they bill our three families separately. They were using a handheld machine for orders and it took three times going over our order before it was finally put in correctly. Although we asked for bills separated, we wound up with one bill, which was too tricky to split up the way they had entered everything, so we paid for everything and had to figure out $ later. Not a major deal, just a nuisance. Also, no AC and the seating was the type of wood that needs shellacking since the shine has worn off and it's sticky. You leave feeling sweaty and sticky, and that's not the way you want to feel on a hot day.
